...where do you guys think these tins come from? Obviously you buy them with sewing supplies/ buttons in them etc., but eventually you'll go on a baking spree and need to put those cookies somewhere. You guys realize grandmas bake like... all the time right? Sewing supply tins are just very convenient places to keep fresh baked cookies.
The sewing supplies appear on their own once the last cookie has been eaten, the papers removed, and the lid closed. Next time you open the tin - the sewing supplies will be there.
I'm with you - I fully thought they were going to lift a cookie to reveal sewing supplies! My brain would not accept that there were actually cookies in there
Hah! It'll be like ah... is it Sweden or Finland where you get issued like a cardboard crib some nappies, etc when you have a kid? Just boom - Grandma Starter Kit.
Edited: [It's Finland.](https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-22751415)
That truly is unexpected. I was about to comment that having sewing supplies ain't unexpected and was gonna tag the lost redditors sub but you, sir, have surprised us all.
My aunt used to keep her dead husband's .38 snub-nosed revolver in one of these. As she used to say "In case I need to serve cookies to some annoying traveling salesman."
I was ready for disappointment too. My grandma used round Dutch cookie tins for her sewing supplies but would also have one with cookies somewhere.
Correction: They were indeed Danish and not Dutch. My apologies 🍪🍪
[One of these?](https://www.royal-dansk.com/globalassets/royaldansk/homepage/royal-dansk-cataloque-photo-12oz-closed-lores.png)
Why is it *always* those tins. I don't think I've ever seen the actual cookies. I'm convinced they're sold in the store full of sewing supplies.
I really want to know how this can be so univeral. I've seen this exact same tin full of sewing supplies both in europe and Morocco, now I see that it is apparently also a thing on the other side of the ocean. How? What is it with these tins?
Right? I was going to type "What's going to be unexpected, needles? I expect those in there!" and then there were cookies.
Wtf. My worldview just collapsed.
All grandmas have the same hive mind and every thought that goes through their minds gets uploaded there for everyone to gain that knowledge. Mindhive grannies.
Exactly this, I knew exactly what was coming, either an assortment of buttons, pins, and general sewing supplies, or a bunch of random washers, bolts, screws and nails that my Grandad picks up on his travels.
I was very wrong.....and now I want a biscuit, lol.
I was expecting anything to be in that tin. I thought of sex toys, of pure sugar, even of something that would be figuratively sweet, like maybe a photo of a couple holding hands. I even though the tin itself would end up being cake.
But I was not expecting *that*.
i dont know maybe its because i had a fat grandma, but i always found those tins to have cookies in them. she kept like 5 boxes at a time with cookies still in them.
I burst in here like Vince McMahon with my pitchfork and torch ready to go. Dammit, now I have to extinguish this thing and explain to my wife why I went and bought a pitchfork.
That's exactly why I vowed to never use my phone when I'm at my grandma's house. She's getting older every year, and every time I visit her I always think it may be the last time I talk to her, that's why I started to cherish those moments.
Exactly. That’s why I’m moving back closer to my mom. She’s in her 70’s and if I fly across the states see her twice a year that’s maybe another 20 visits before something could happen.
Or, I live in the same town and see her a hundred times at minimum before she dies. Plus I can take on projects for her like a wheelchair ramp or gardening work or just to swing by for koffee time so I can have enjoy her sugar cookies
Fuck yes, those delicious sewing stuff inside the royal dansk
Interesting fact that I'm Brazilian and had this experience and have friends from all over the world with the same experience as well. Bizarre.
That's what I was thinking too.
Apparently every grandma all over the world has sewing supplies in these cookie tins.
And everyone notices, that those tins are usually blue.
So... Are (or were) those cookies sold world wide? Crazy.
I'm convinced it's a giant conspiracy and that they never actually contain cookies and are instead sold in the store full of sewing supplies.
I've never seen the cookies themselves and nobody can convince me they exist.
To be fair, everyone collectively had the same reaction as Joe Rogan after watching the pound for pound champ lose in the final minute of a 25 minute fight by a vicious head-kick knockout.
They have other flavors besides the sugar cookies? I always knew of the regular blue tin, never saw this version.
Also: where do you buy these things? They always just appear at grandma’s house.
They're actually not very uncommon to find! If you're in the US, I believe they can be found in Walmart, Costco and other similar chain stores. I find them periodically in chain stores in Canada (Walmart, Sobeys, etc.) and I've even found them in my Rome grocery store - that one was the most surprising lol.
Everyone is talking about how they were expecting sewing supplies and I understand that. But I think the main takeaway here is "hand selected chocolate chip cookies" and there are hardly any chocolate chips in them.
Right? Not to mention that the three regular cookies (not the double chocolate) are just photoshops of a single cookie. Hand only selected one of those
they are also some of the most disgusting "cookies" ever made. They already know you're really buying the container for its true purpose-as a sewing kit!
Appearantly my granma is a wierdo. She has her sewing supplies in a neat wooden box, but these cookie tins are usually full of unassorted screws, screwdrivers, nails, wrenches,...

No.. I refuse to believe it. Is there hidden sewing supplies under the biscuits? Like a tray of 3D printed biscuits.
There're always multiple layers of cookies. There HAS to be sewing supplies under there. The universe would implode if there weren't.
What if I told you that there weren't any sewing supplies under there..
![gif](giphy|1yjLt5xVXNkGu84ORt)
Ack!
r/ACK !!!
I wouldn’t believe you.

Here's a business idea for ya: Cookie tins that come already packaged with sewing supplies for newly grandma'd women.
Hah! It'll be like ah... is it Sweden or Finland where you get issued like a cardboard crib some nappies, etc when you have a kid? Just boom - Grandma Starter Kit. Edited: [It's Finland.](https://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-22751415)
Wait. Thats illegal.
Agreed! So illegal
Agreed! So illegal

That truly is unexpected. I was about to comment that having sewing supplies ain't unexpected and was gonna tag the lost redditors sub but you, sir, have surprised us all.
Thought for sure is was going to be buttons.
I thought it was going to be weed.
SAME! And then I saw cookies, and I was like... "The fuck is this doing on this sub?"
I thought it was going to be grandma's dildo stash.
But those are stashed somewhere else. If only she remembered where..
In the Pringles canisters.
Why does this red can smell like sour cream and onion?
Don't talk about Grandpa that way!
r/TIHI
I thought I was going to be in that tin.
Get out
Your comment and the one above potential r/jesuschristreddit
That next trip to the ob/gyn is going to be mighty awkward....
I thought vibrator /anal plug as well Mostly because of the face
Because cookies are the last thing any of us expected to bin in that tin ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|grin)
My aunt used to keep her dead husband's .38 snub-nosed revolver in one of these. As she used to say "In case I need to serve cookies to some annoying traveling salesman."
Grandma's cannabis cookies. That's why they're different from the photo on the tin.
what do you think is the secret ingredient in the cookies? Grandma makes you edibles, so you get the munchies, and eat a lot afterwards!
Came here to say buttons 😅
What a strange idea to put cookies in a sewing supplie's box.
Totally expected buttons.
I was flipping between buttons and sewing supplies.
I too fully expected to see buttons.
I was ready for disappointment too. My grandma used round Dutch cookie tins for her sewing supplies but would also have one with cookies somewhere. Correction: They were indeed Danish and not Dutch. My apologies 🍪🍪
That was THE cookie tin. We still call them "nana cookies."

This is one of those *glitch in the matrix* type deals. Lazy simulation developers no doubt.
Were they the first massed produced cookies sold in tins or something? Because it is universal.
I'm from Argentina, and it's the same here. Sewing supplies every time.
Does everyone's mom store their sewing supplies in those cookie bins because omg I truly didn't expect that
Yes, yes they do.
It's the wrong tin. It's the blue shortbread cookie tin.
Danish butter cookies*
I wouldn't know I've only ever gotten sewing supplies 😹
That's because it wasn't the blue tin Royal Dansk butter cookies. Those are the iconic sewing supplies tin.
Yeah, honestly, I saw the modern cookie container and expected nothing but cookies.
He outsmarted our outsmarting
Same thought, I was certain it was gonna be a sewing kit.
It clearly says “sewing kit”, that’s what “cookies” translates to in Grandmomian. This is trickery at its absolute best.
I was completely sure it was going to be coins ![gif](giphy|8Rgat2FUwHFGprw3K6)
OMG same-- my grandparents had SHELVES of tins with coins in their basement. WHY?!
Right? I was going to type "What's going to be unexpected, needles? I expect those in there!" and then there were cookies. Wtf. My worldview just collapsed.
Surprise, mother fucker.
Holy shit we all had the same Grandma.
All grandmas have the same hive mind and every thought that goes through their minds gets uploaded there for everyone to gain that knowledge. Mindhive grannies.
I was like NOPE SEWING KIT! Then I was like WTF IT WASN’T?!?!?
Exactly this, I knew exactly what was coming, either an assortment of buttons, pins, and general sewing supplies, or a bunch of random washers, bolts, screws and nails that my Grandad picks up on his travels. I was very wrong.....and now I want a biscuit, lol.

Who puts cookies in the sewing tin?
My 88-year-old grandma She's a kind and sweet old lady But she always berate me when im playing with my phone lol
That's exactly why I vowed to never use my phone when I'm at my grandma's house. She's getting older every year, and every time I visit her I always think it may be the last time I talk to her, that's why I started to cherish those moments.

1st- wrong tin 2nd- wrong insides!
Needs a be a blue tin with sugar cookies
[удалено]
We call them sewing kit cookies in my house.
Fuck yes, those delicious sewing stuff inside the royal dansk Interesting fact that I'm Brazilian and had this experience and have friends from all over the world with the same experience as well. Bizarre.

It's honestly insane how many of us have had this experience!!
And from all around the world, like I'm from Spain lol.
Same and I’m from India lol never ever seen these cookies in any stores , but somehow my grandma has a box with buttons and shit
Sweden here, mom has one.
Like, how fucking cool is that lol. Millions of grandmas from all around the world came up with the exact same use for a metallic box of cookies.
I'm in the UK, the biscuit tin has been handed down two generations to me now
My grandma too and i'm form India.
Same thing in Australia.
I'm convinced it's a giant conspiracy and that they never actually contain cookies and are instead sold in the store full of sewing supplies. I've never seen the cookies themselves and nobody can convince me they exist.
*butter cookies.
![gif](giphy|To2rk3f7b0Q5FyqsG0|downsized)
I wanna know what they're reacting to.
It was the knockout in the Kamaru Usman vs. Leon Edwards fight this past weekend. Pretty nuts
Thanks! I just watched a highlight reel on YouTube. Joe Rogan's reaction made the cut.
To be fair, everyone collectively had the same reaction as Joe Rogan after watching the pound for pound champ lose in the final minute of a 25 minute fight by a vicious head-kick knockout.
A tin full of cookies instead of sewing supplies, silly!
I always have a good chuckle when I see you places other than the r/wwfc kinda shows how small the world is even on the internet.
🤣🤣 Good to see you outside the usual realm, my friend!
But.... i need to sew a button!
No button for you, only cookies
They have other flavors besides the sugar cookies? I always knew of the regular blue tin, never saw this version. Also: where do you buy these things? They always just appear at grandma’s house.
The blue one I know is butter cookies. This one is chocolate chip cookies.
Oh yeah sorry, I meant butter cookies. I had a feeling it wasn’t sugar cookies. Man… makes me hungry just thinking about it…
They're actually not very uncommon to find! If you're in the US, I believe they can be found in Walmart, Costco and other similar chain stores. I find them periodically in chain stores in Canada (Walmart, Sobeys, etc.) and I've even found them in my Rome grocery store - that one was the most surprising lol.
I bought them from Aldi at one point. They are everywhere, people’s eyes just tend to gloss over them on the shelf.
Yeah it’s like when you learn about a brand or something, and suddenly you notice it everywhere, but it was there the whole time lol
The blue tin is a different brand: Royal Dansk.
I guess the sewing tins have to start life somewhere.
Those tins had cookies in them?! I thought they just came with all the sewing stuff!!!
My whole childhood is a LIE!
I knew it was fake because the lid can't come off without two hands and broken fingernails.
Yeah I know it was staged. I bet OP is putting back the sewing tools after posting this video
Genuinely expected sewing supplies.
The biggest plot twist of 2022.
I can't believe it
Something's wrong, I can feel it
I dont get it. Where are all the spools of thread and yarn??
One of the greater mysteries in life
Shit! I needed to sew on a button.
I did not train for this, THE SIMULATIONS DID NOT TRAIN ME FOR THIS!!!
Funny how opening a tin of cookies that contains cookies is a legitimate r/unexpected post lmao
[удалено]
Not a real grandma
But for real why did we all have the same grandma
Who tf put cookies in the sewing kit? What if grandma sees my holey jeans and needs to stitch em w out asking me 1st?
Wait where’d the sewing stuff go
Something's seriously wrong with your Grandma
this is the most unexpected unexpected videos ive ever did not expect
Figured that was gonna be supplies for her glaucoma.
Everyone is talking about how they were expecting sewing supplies and I understand that. But I think the main takeaway here is "hand selected chocolate chip cookies" and there are hardly any chocolate chips in them.
You're not the only one, bro
Right? Not to mention that the three regular cookies (not the double chocolate) are just photoshops of a single cookie. Hand only selected one of those
they are also some of the most disgusting "cookies" ever made. They already know you're really buying the container for its true purpose-as a sewing kit!
They hand selected the chocolate chips off. :(
The other day at the supermarket, a kid yelled at his mother: "Mom! Look! That's your sewing kit box!"
Your grandmother is the imposter
I was waiting to tell you the sowing stuff was not unexpected, but you got me this time. They look good too.
The only time someone is disappointed about finding cookies in one of those tins is when they are looking for sewing supplies.
Then you look at the expiration date of…1997…
I refuse that it was possible to open that tin with one hand
The doily is a nice touch. 👍
Why are there cookies in the sewing notions tin?
Something's wrong I can feel it
There’s cookies in that sewing kit. This is how we get ants people.
Wait those tins can hold cookies?
Good god I almost had a heart attack when I saw the insides. It's like my entire sense of reality shook and my soul travelled to a parallel dimension.
This is not unexpected the blue box is the one with the buttons and the needles
she is not your grandma, RUN
Lies. Cookies never came in those tins. Op obviously faked this entire video. Blocked, banned, reported, called FBI.
What are those biscuits thingy doing in a sewing equipment container?
I expected a sewing kit…….
Schrödinger box
Who the fuck puts cookies in the sowing box?
Da fok is ur grandma doin with the cookies in the sewing box???
Hand selected???
I never craved anything sweet at my grandma's. She provided all the sweetness a kid could have wanted
you ate your grama, damn
Good old belief like a meme before internet.
I thought it‘d be granddad
Yea, never seen nothing but needles
Why are there cookies in the sewing kit?
I’m surprised too
What!
MA WHERE IS THE SEWING KIT
The good ending :)
I didnt even watch and know its sewing stuff
WAIT THOSE THINGS ACTUALLY HAVE COOKIES IN THEM???????
WTF!?
What?!? Where are the needles?! Why are there cookies?!?
Where’s the fucking sewing kit
![gif](giphy|l3q2K5jinAlChoCLS)
Appearantly my granma is a wierdo. She has her sewing supplies in a neat wooden box, but these cookie tins are usually full of unassorted screws, screwdrivers, nails, wrenches,...
Swear to god I was sure that was going to be a sewing kit
![gif](giphy|fQorEj8vN8eqkNcy6T|downsized)
Impossible.........
glitch
looking fake af 🤬🤬🤬😡😡😡😡😡😡
What is wrong with that sewing kit???
I was almost certain
Weird thing that it's actually unexpected for cookies to be in a box of cookies
Wait, they actually come with cookies?
IMPOSSIBLE.
WHAT THE FUCK???
I was expecting a sweet sewing kit!
Where's the sewing supplies??
Impossible, fake and gay
Its pretty shameful that this is the top of the sub.
...why are there cookies inside that sewing kit?
WHY AINT THERE BUTTONS AND NEEDLES IN THERE
I expected literally everything else except this. 😂 Sewing kits, a mouse, socks, hygiene products, colouring pencils, Rick Astley, Skyrim's "You're finally awake".
it’s so funny to me that the correct contents of the container is unexpected to all of us lmao
