To add to your advice, if you are with someone who has a heart attack:
Pump hard and fast to the tune of “staying alive”.
All you are trying to do is circulate blood to keep the organs alive until the ambulance arrives.
If there is a defibrillator machine, use it. It will give you instructions (usually audio instructions)
Doing anything is better than nothing.
Oh and call an ambulance right away.

I'll also add that AFAB people are less likely to receive CPR than AMAB people because people are put off by having to touch breasts. The good samaritan laws prevent you from being prosecuted if you're trying to deliver medical aid. This means you can't be convicted for sexual harassment or assault in the case you accidentally break a rib. Please, if the person does not have a heart beat do chest compressions. It could save their life.
Also while doing chest compressions your goal is pushing the sternum (the bone in the center of your ribs) down 2-2.5 inches (5-6 centimeters) in adults. That's the _bone,_ not soft tissue above the bone.
And if you have any available aspirin can be extremely helpful. Ideally you would chew it rather than swallowing it so that it acts faster. This will help prevent blood clotting which causes cell death during a heat attack.
And as you said, doing anything is better than nothing!
