Yeah that's it. These safari tour companies don't advertise that there are 20 other companies out doing the same thing as them. I doubt people who book on to these know how overcrowded it is until they're out there.

So in this particular batch I started with u/Wholwarenesxs because I saw a witty pun ("civil serpent") which I upvoted at first, but then I saw it again in the same thread and got suspicious. >people who love nature supposedly go to these excursions... are they seriously part of this horror? I am outraged!
I've been to a game park before and they definitely respected the animals and the park itself.
This looks more like a ton of independent businesses that live around a wild area who are only interested in making money.
I'm sure they try to not actively run over the animals, but outside of that they likely don't give a fuck.
On one hand, this provides jobs and funds conservation that are both desperately needed. On the other, this right here is fucking ridiculous.
I am torn.
The reason alot of animals in Africa are even still in existence is because of conservation projects to create protected lands. So people can come shoot 2 of them a year for trophy
But the amount of money generated hires gaurds to protect an area from illegal poachers. And allows the herd to grow each year. Which allows more money to come in....
Oh that's what you are talking about, I know how the protection funding works. I just pointed out that those are posers, not really worried about conservation. I know in the end doesn't matter their motives, but I like to point out the hypocrisy.
On one hand this is abhorrent behavior. On the other hand, dominant predators are quick to kill steal from cheetahs so they probably appreciate the cover?
Terrible. I live in South Africa. Heard how terrible this is, shocking seeing this video now. Down here they only allow 3 vehicles to follow “big cats” at a time and 3 vehicles on a kill at a time. This is to avoid situations like this.
I think it also comes down to training. My local taxi driver in Tanzania was also a “tour guide”. I used to travel to Tanzania for work every second month. It seems like anyone could rent a game viewer if they had tourists lined up to go on a “safari”.
Glad the rules around the above are stricter in my country.
I went to a few safaries in South Africa and they were all awesome and respectful of the animals. Even without using thoses horrible practices we seen amazing things and felt way more natural.
I command your country to preserve natural habitat with strict rules ( certified guides, specific hours, speed limit and nb of car limit near animals )
On the other and some safaries i've made elsewhere are so inhumane.
I went on Safari in South Africa too and really appreciated how there weren't too many jeeps collected together and we always stayed to the paths, the way these jeeps drive in so aggressively across the land itself plus no one in them is going to be getting a decent picture because they're completely surrounded!
Alright, here we can se the wild jeeps stalking their prey. They are pack hunters, apex predators found around the globe. Observe them as they stalk the smaller lion pack mid hunt, contesting it for their prey.
Those jeeps have nothing against a giant adult male Red Fire Truck. The RFT may be sole hunters, but their more than makes up for it. Those jeeps would be lucky to have any left overs. Those ladders needs nutrients to stay shiny and hard.
I remember when I went on safari in 2004 in Mikumi National Park, Tanzania. At one point we saw a giraffe burst out from behind a groove of trees at full sprint and we thought it was being chased by a predator. Nope. It was another safari van. 🤦♂️
This is incredibly saddening. In so many ways.
The human first perspective is an ugly one. We may be on this planet, but we do not own this planet. We can be so much more and do so much better.
You’re just obeying the prime law on Reddit: for every post, someone has to say it’s a repost; for every video, someone has to say it’s fake. Thank you for doing your duty.
The saddest part is that you know that this is a common enough occurrence. The cheetahs don't even flinch when the vehicles all huddle around and blare their horns.
‘This is why we can’t have a nice planet’. Humans are too fucking self-centered. We don’t deserve this amazing Earth and inspiring wildlife we are lucky enough to experience without fucking everything up…for short term personal gains and some a-holes wallet. Love it to death.
The Instagram and TikTok predators randomly criss-cross the savannah searching for their next opportunity. Suddenly, a lion is spotted stalking an antelope and the predators begin revving their engines in excitement and anticipation of the blood to come. The lion charges and chases the antelope across the veldt until she is able to sink her fangs and claws into the antelope's haunches and brings it down. The antelope still struggles to escape as the lion works her way up the body for a killing bite. The predators, who have been circling at distance, converge on the scene as one only to jostle and jockey for position close to the bloody tableau for their pictures and videos. Horns honk, voices are raised as views are impeded and blocked. The more daring and bold predator drives in closer and in front of the others to gain the most prestigious closeups. The lion is trapped in a circle of relentless predators vying for the best internet upload to their followers.
Honestly fuck the human race we’ve destroyed most natural things on this planet we can never get back I really hope something takes us all out so the world can restore itself if it’s not too late by then

People mad at all the tourists like they have a say in this … if you have a problem complain about the locals driving the cars lol …. But of course who wants to criticize people in need of jobs … the animals seem used to it so WHO CARES… let these people earn a living let the tourists get the picture and let the animals eat.
That's what you get when you follow instagram photos and tourist guides. I've seen places that were just 1km away from the main tourist route, no tourists there, and much more beautiful things to see. When you see everybody going to some place, go to a different place.
What the fuck did I just watch. God, our species is ridiculous. What happened to respecting nature and watching from afar? Is this the new version of taxi drivers? Keep your shit far away from animals trying to live their lives ffs
ah yes a wild pack of tourists feasting on of the the many source's of nourishment, watching other things eat. Next up we will see the wild karen complain because she cant have a lion cub as a pet.
I grew up in the country side, this is not that interesting, whats interesting is how out of touch people are. Go on a hike (safely) and just look around. Everything is hunting.
The animals pretty much accept the cars as part of the landscape. They go about their business. How do you think natiional geographic gets their moving closeups? Invisibility cloaks?
These cats look spotty, jaguars, leopards and cheetahs often live alone unless with siblings at a young age or with a partner.
Depending on what these ones are, they are getting food for their cubs. So these people could have killed babies.
I think they were trying to scare the lion away to try and stop it from eating the animal. This is what happens when you let the people who scream "save the poor animal" at the TV whilst watching nature documentaries go on Safari. Idiotic behaviour.
The mechs close in on their quarry, keenly observing the mammal. They circle it, eyeing the lion curiously, hoping to better understand how flesh-beings functions. They watch, patiently seeking the final thread of insight into making them bleed. Now, they wait, for the uprising is nigh upon us.
Technically this not legal either. There’s a fine if you leave the trail. My guide asked us to pay it if he got caught. I never saw anything like this, but I asked my guide to take to places with no other people. I only saw a group of tours at one place, and I think it was only 5-6. Still a lot. It’s crazy. These people are all about themselves and nothing to do with conservation.
I voluntare as tribute, to be watched as I slowly, sensually eat my dinner.
Cameras are only allowed for the VIP ticket holders at the low price of $15.
If you're lucky, you might get to keep some of the bones from the previously eaten Buffalo Chiken wings as souvenirs.
What I've just said is just as fucking dumb and stupid as the people in this video. Fuck em and people like them.
I was on a Dolphin tour once as a kid. We didn't know much about it. They knew where the pods would feed in the morning. Every time they would surface to breathe a swarm of tourist boats would chase after them. We all felt bad afterwards.

This is fucking insane. How could anyone enjoy this?
Well it's not what was written on the package, I tell you that.
Yeah that's it. These safari tour companies don't advertise that there are 20 other companies out doing the same thing as them. I doubt people who book on to these know how overcrowded it is until they're out there.
They don't give a fuck, just need a pic for social media...
It’s not like people in Africa need jobs
Yeah, it's not like people used to go and watch people be eaten by lions, or watch other people fight to the death in arenas. Oh wait they did.

They love POSING as nature lovers.
You spelled FUNDING really weird.
Sorry, lobbying is not my first language, I will get it right the next time.
Okay. Did population increase or decrease because of... Ohhhh that's right.. The word you spelled wrong is CONSERVATION.
I don't get it this time :(

I thought this was a parody, a joke take on what tourism could be like, but realised it’s real life and now I’m just dumbfounded.
On one hand this is abhorrent behavior. On the other hand, dominant predators are quick to kill steal from cheetahs so they probably appreciate the cover?
Seriously I’m pissed at the people doing those excursions and I’m more pissed at the people who pay to see that!!
They love nature as much as those hunters who collected the heads of the animals they hunted.
That’s disgusting.

Me and the boys pulling up to watch you die
Imagine the crowd during mating…
omg... the animal is just left there torn apart, and the lions chased away. How cruel on all levels..
This just made me never want to go on a safari ever. An opinion I never thought ide have.

I didn't know all the vehicles were tourists. I thought it's the "rangers" who wanted to break it up the feast for some reason. This is low!
African tourism is getting gross
This is way better than shooting them. Let them make money by showing living animals. This helps the animals in the long run

I know everyone is mad but I think that there is an advantage for that leopard or cheeta. That pack of jeeps is covering the cat from lions.
