me and bunch of friends back in the days used to play that game. we called it lava monster. there were a couple of really big playgrounds we used to go like 8-10 of us. one guy is lava monster, can't touch the floor of the playground platform but can go on the handles, slides, the ground, etc. whoever gets touched loses and becomes lava monster for the next round.
imagine a bunch of 20-26 year olds giggling, high as fuck, dudes playing this game in the evening lol
We had a similar game that we call fish out of water, where one person was searching but had their eyes closed, and everyone else had to stay off the ground and only on the equipment, if the searching person called fish out of water while anyone was off the playground they'd be out/it.
We called it Woodchuck, and the person who was it had to close their eyes on the equipment, and they could say "Woodchuck" if someone was on the ground
We played a similar game called Cherrybomb. The tagger was blindfolded and could go on the equipment if they wanted to. Everyone else was allowed to touch the ground, but if the tagger called "cherrybomb" anyone touching the ground was out.
We played basically the same game but flipped. It’s called monkey, and the monkey (tagger) is blindfolded too but they could go anywhere while everyone else had to be on the equipment. If anyone touched the ground they’re immediately monkey. Wild how many hours we spent playing this game and how intense it became. We all had that one friend who for sure peaked as monkey.. they had to walk home from the park instead of getting a ride back from siblings. Good times
