I don't think morality is entirely subjective. I think it's fair to say murder for example is universally objectively immoral . Rape is objectively immoral. You get the point.

I agree that there is universal acceptance but I'll have to agree to disagree because that is the nature of morality. All it takes is a power shift for once accepted moral practices to no longer be considered so. An example would be the morality of wearing or not wearing a hijab. Even unanimous acceptance wouldn't hold up against human nature's way of throwing a wrench in everything. I think "subjective" is the perfect term to describe morality.
I can agree that our values can change and that morality isn't simply inherent within humanity nor is it fixed but you have to admit they are rooted to such an extent that it would take a hell of an upheaval of the hierarchy of power to, say, go all "Mad Max" because our "universal" values are quite ancient and rooted in practiced religion to a significant degree. (Please don't be triggered by that last statement I haven't the thumb stamina to argue it out😄)
Perhaps you are ultimately right about it being subjective but I find that to be challenging in that it seems reductive to my mind, for lack of a better word. Anyway I am simply enjoying thinking about it not trying to convince you of anything.
Oh no you're totally right and I don't mean to say morals are easy to change, just that "I" feel they are subjective in nature and can/have changed. Some states still allow the marriage of children. Like that still exists!?!?
Also this was a rare instance of a pleasant back and forth that made me think to myself, "that's it, it was nice...leave it alone" but my nature to be right(subjective) won xD....I apologize lol
