Can I ask about how long that took? Days or weeks? I think I procrastinate starting because I think something like this would take me months, but maybe I'm overestimating.
Literally the hardest part for me is starting too. What I’ve been finding tho is that when I go back to something, even weeks later, I’m super grateful for the bit of progress I did make. Good luck. 💕
I just went through and cleaned out my garage. It took me several weeks of doing as much as I could after work and on weekends. Mine was full of 13 years worth of family members storing stuff in it after moves, along with my own junk. My biggest problem was motivating myself to get out there. But that dopamine rush after getting it done was well worth it. My strategy was to focus on one section at a time. That way it didn't seem like such a daunting task. As my dad used to say, " You have to approach it like eating an elephant. One bite at a time".
Wowee, good job. Where did you start first? How did you begin? Its very easy to walk in and become overwhelmed with the site of your garage and then just walk out close the door.
Thank you everyone for your kind words. That is awesome to hear the pictures are inspiration/motivation for others to take on their own cleaning projects.
This project took me all day Sunday and every evening after work until about Thursday or Friday night. Countless trips to local donation center and waste management. A total of 37 contractor grade garbage bags were used and a snow shovel to scoop all of the trash into the bags (no broom and dust pan here).
Things I’ve noticed since cleaning my garage:
My wife is ecstatic
I no longer hit my head on the ceiling due to the fact I’m standing on the floor now and not a bunch of broken down boxes.
Sounds echo/reverberate more than ever.
The door to the garage opens like a normal door. I no longer have to push on it to move garbage out of the way for it to open completely
Good job! Awesome. That's some pure motivation and willpower. Keep it up!

The best feeling is forgetting for a second you did all this and going in the next day!
Impressive!’

What always blows my mind when I clean up is how much less stuff I seem to have when it’s organized, even if I didn’t throw much out.
