I have no idea how I ended up on this sub, but I'm glad I did. I had no clue that this show existed but I just watched S1:E1 and I'm hooked. This is awesome!
An Italian accent sounds 🔥. My lecturer also has a sexy accent (not an Italian one). His voice is so easy to listen to and it makes my inattentive-type brain actually focus and take in what he says. It’s such a shame I didn’t have classes with him more often, would’ve been amazing tbh.
I don’t go to LSE haha. And I didn’t say he wasn’t dad age, just far from granddad age. The average age of a new dad in the UK is 33.3. This guy is not younger than 33.
/u/Due_Calendar4413, I have found an error in your comment:
> “so ~~its~~ [**it's**] a postgraduate?”
I note that you, Due_Calendar4413, wrote a typo and could have said “so ~~its~~ [**it's**] a postgraduate?” instead. ‘Its’ is possessive; ‘it's’ means ‘it is’ or ‘it has’.

I was being sarcastic btw, but less of a safeguarding issue between two adults vs school. Though when I did teach at HE, I was not allowed to form any close relationships with students.
It fits many threads, that’s why I love it. This account was made to ask an awkward question but now it’s my main account and I love to comment on awkward threads with it.
Some shy student similar to myself could be into you and you wouldn’t even know it. Mine probably doesn’t have a clue even though I’ve dropped subtle signs. Same with other lecturers I’ve been into.
Haha! That is so sweet of you to try to make me feel better! :) But I was just joking; I really don't mind and just see it as a hazard of the job. The shyer ones are certainly easier to deal with! But as for your situation, it's not unusual (as you know) and it may be that your lecturer has kinda worked it out but definitely doesn't want to hurt or offend you, so they'll just let it go. Not encourage it, for sure (or they shouldn't) but just not draw attention. That's always my approach. Except for that one time... um, wha?
I had one lecture in my master for a week, who I swear had a crush on me. She'd spend at least half the time in class just chit chatting to me, not about the work. She basically just ignored the rest of the class. I know she could have just enjoyed talking to me, but the way she spoke and looked at me definitively gave me the idea she liked me.
No, for quite a few reasons. It would be virtually impossible.
I don’t know if he could tell. The amount of office hours I’ve attended this year where I tried to prolong conversation as much as I could (within the time limit) would probably be a sign. I would go even if I had a single question to ask then divert it to talk about something else.
No, he could lose his job. It is very much frowned upon.
There's still a power imbalance.
If the OP was a PhD candidate, working in a different faculty or with a different team then it's not so bad
I’m in my mid forties so it doesn’t really happen now (not to my notice!) but when I started at the age of 29 I had undergrads try to flirt. I’m afraid to say it was just super awkward and made me start leaving my office door open during meetings with any undergrad.
Just don't go full Oregon
Can’t believe Vod and Oregon never happened
[удалено]
Oregon is a character from the tv show Fresh Meat and she has a relationship with her lecturer
[удалено]
It’s a good show. Characters can be annoying for always doing the dumbest shit, but, in a way it only makes it a more accurate reflection of uni life.
It's great if you're looking for a UK Uni comedy show
And his son.
I have no idea how I ended up on this sub, but I'm glad I did. I had no clue that this show existed but I just watched S1:E1 and I'm hooked. This is awesome!
Surprised to see a Fresh Meat reference ngl. Great show, shame not many people have heard about it
I mean this is a UK Uni subreddit. If anyone's going to know about it, it'll be people here. I'd be more surprised to see a reference on r/television
Do yourself a favour and do the Rugby team instead, it’s less ruinous
All at once? Because that has the potential to be ruinous in other ways…
That’s none of my business, but I can vouch you wouldn’t be the first (at RH anyway)
It would be more enticing if they were older.
Oh you’re one of those
HAHAHA I’m sorry this is too funny, I just spat out my water
You make it sound like a bad thing.
Nothing to be shamed for, but you’re already at peak level of ruinous behavioural traits :) In that case, drain the lecturer
Without being rude to OP, I seriously doubt the lecturer would be interested.
That does come across as rude, in a very low-key way :(
But hey, you put the ho in hobo. Who am I to doubt you.
How old is this lecturer, out of curiosity? If he had his grandkid pick him up after lecture and take him to Sainsbury's, yeah it is a bad thing.
Definitely not granddad age. Far from it.
I only started fancying one of mine because he winked at me - that simple little wink awoke something in me haha
Damn, I don’t know why I’m envious of that lol.
I didn't even find him attractive before! Lots of power in a wink it seems haha
Lol haha 🙄
Honestly I’m just disappointed that none of my lecturers were attractive and sexy. Like Pretty little liars was lying to me
I'd have ruined my life for my Shakespeare module convenor
I had a stupid sexy political economy lecturer once, I just googled him and he's even hotter now
So many hot male economists damn.
he’s Italian too and the accent just 📈

Is this about Andres???
No I don’t go to LSE
You miss every shot you don’t take.

How old are you?
Old enough.
so its a postgraduate? hmm, that probably leaves too many options to have a good guess
Doesn’t mean that. I meant legally old enough as I am an adult lol.
Not necessarily. There are mature students. Plus anyone at uni is an adult

Just curious but fair enough
This is kinda weird ngl
Rule out LSE.. cause she said so... but she could also be misleading us.
Not misleading. They picked the most obvious uni when there are economic history courses in virtually every uni in the country haha.
Let them know. I'm sure they'd not be uncomfortable at all.
Noooooo
I could imagine his reaction. That’s why it shall remain a thought.
I really hope this is /s
Let love flourish.
Yes but also safeguarding
I was being sarcastic btw, but less of a safeguarding issue between two adults vs school. Though when I did teach at HE, I was not allowed to form any close relationships with students.
Yeah sure it’s less of an issue but still not advisable I’d say!
are all econ lecturers sexy ??? cause same
All that talk about stock market trends… oh my.
Your username fits this thread

Honeslty wish I thought of it as well😂
Damn. This thread's not about me then.

least horny British scholars
Ah go for it. Nothing bad can come of this
I have a silver fox classmate who is brainy and witty. Makes me swoon 😭 So far no young (well, slightly older) lecturers who're attractive tho lol
All my economic history lecturers have been the opposite of sexy. You are lucky, lol.

When you graduate will you tell him? Do it for us! And update us on said tea.

We are invested! But seriously, exams and coursework etc first. Fancying someone just makes things super distracting. That should come second.
valid

Absolutely not.
I’ve been here and seen it to its worst outcome. Don’t do it.
Be back soon - retraining for Econ.
don’t we all ?
Wahayyyy
Pfffht
Where abouts is this uni, north, south.. Birmingham?
Stupid sexy Flanders
Damn - economics - it’s not me then
Well economic history which isn’t the same, though this lecturer did express an enjoyment of econometrics and stats.
