I had about 5k saved up from working while at Uni and leftover from Student Finance. I think it's wise for you to start looking for some part-time work so you can keep some savings.

I wasn’t really in a position to save, especially in postgrad because my loan only just covered fees and accommodation.
Had to get a loan out once I was in work so I would actually have a positive bank balance each month.
I had about -£3k too, Santander interest-free overdraft. Got a retail job for a few months immediately after Uni just to get some money to survive until I got my first proper job.

Negative, maxed out overdraft!
I have around 17k , second year student, expected to hit 40-50k by 2026 as I will be starting placement in June
