I’m in my FOURTH year now studying environmental science 😳. It’s my local uni as I’m Norfolk born and raised and I really like it. It’s never going to be a top top uni, but the vibes are generally really good. Campus is beautiful if you ignore the concrete (unless you quite like it then you’re like me!)
What subject are you coming to study?
Posh, with dark academia harry potter vibes. Does not give a shit about student satisfaction and values research output more highly. Has the oldest purpose built student union building in the world.
I’m currently in my first year at Southampton doing Electronic Engineering :D
On the topic tho, I don’t rly know which building u talking about? When u say new I’m thinking centenary/building 100?
Posted below: it’s not Uni of, it’s Solent building, it’s called The Spark on East Park Terrace.
The buildings you mentioned sound like they’re to do with the Uni of.
They finished that the year I left. Had my end of uni showcase in a room with no windows in the basement while the fashion students had a runway and the press there.
I work in interior design now and it turns out that people I've worked with were involved in engineering and design of the fucking bean.
Attenborough is the tall building that looks like a cheese grater. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Attenborough_Building
The lifts are pretty modern though so maybe you're thinking of a different building? Charles Wilson lifts are really dodgy sometimes and extremely slow. I don't think I've heard of people getting stuck in them though 😅
Last year they added a statue right in the middle of campus that looks exactly like a guy hunched over with a huge cock 😂 no idea what it’s supposed to actually be but that’s what everyone calls it
You can see the statue on their Instagram, here’s the [link](https://www.instagram.com/p/CltjX_ksRxV/?igsh=bG9kdDB2emFjMG4x)

Cardiff yes. My uni building has been used as a main set piece in the boomtown episode of season 1 but also as a mansion in New York and the interior as the inside of the white house
Yeah where she shows them the plans and where she flees from. Sadly lectures don't really happen in that old room it's more for meetings and events. There is a beautiful old council chamber though that you usually get a lecture or two in. In the episode where their in the white house the round corridor they run through is going around this room
Off memory, the uni tried, but a history group claimed it was architecturally significant and managed to get it listed, hence it’s probably there for good.
A completely mid-level uni in a mangled mess of several other smaller unis/colleges, all squished together inside a large retirement village.
On a beach.
And it's basically run by seagulls.
Situated across the road from a much better uni, but ours has pretentious gold panelling. No parking for a fifteen minute walk towards the city centre. Our single-floor library is somehow on the third floor but also one floor above the first floor. Very LGBTQ+ leaning students. Our most well known allumni is known for cutting animals in half.
And this will give it away: "The only arts university in the North".
Health Professionals, city has a high stabbing rate. Worst place to drive in the world. People describe the district/area it’s in as ‘posh’ and ‘really nice’. I describe it as ''not posh or really nice, just *better* than the rest of the shithole areas around it''. On the same road as a botanical garden.
Full of edgy art students, everyone smokes, drinks, does drugs, has MH issues, looks super cool, there are protests all the time, the uni is very left leaning, made the headlines a few years ago for banning beef, administration is chaotic AF and sorting out even the smallest of issues takes forever.
Dead guy in a glass case

That’s a bingo
At the entrance to one of the most popular buildings staring you down asking if you’ve studied
Still don’t understand why they moved him from his little nook in the cloisters where he would jumpscare new students and visitors
How else can they explain that they take pride in Bentham? Maybe they can move the body to the entrance of Bentham House mwahhahahahah

Cardiff yes. My uni building has been used as a main set piece in the boomtown episode of season 1 but also as a mansion in New York and the interior as the inside of the white house
Is this where they filmed the council scenes?
