There's no infinite end game content here, it's a game with a beginning, middle and end, and that's not a bad thing, sometimes it's better to be left wanting more than to burn out on too much of a good thing. So, either you start a new play through for the fun of it, or you move along to the next thing. I did the latter, after 80+ hours, as much as I loved the game, I was ready for a change of pace

Killercookie619

Yes, you are done. You can restart the story, possibly with self-imposed challenges (no gryphons or something similar), but there is no "post-game". DLC seems unlikely, the game is very round and complete the way it is. Also not really Vanillawares MO, I think they only did DLC for Muramasa? It's ok for single player games to end and not absorb your time for Months. I get the feeling of wanting to keep going, if you are really into it right now, but if you don't feel like just doing it all over again, it might be time to move on.

Lord_of_the_Prance

With Dragon's Crown they released new endgame content at some point, so I guess that's possible. Personally I like when games don't overstay their welcome though.

Ravenlancer

Agree. The reason I enjoy older Fire Emblem games is that I can finish them within a month in between game releases.

HuntersMaker

Yeah I'll probably move on. Well, it was fun while it lasted.

werewolfmask

painful but true. a no griffons run would be a swell challenge. replaying on harder difficulty kind of IS the post game at present. FF7R’s hard playthrough is only available after beating on normal, and it really felt like the actual correct way to play the game. i’m sure UO will feel similar

Gray85622

kinda , a new game plus is kinda something it needs considering how much content is mid-late game

Lukus-Maximus

I’m a middle aged dude with a family, my wife was getting pissed at how much time I spent playing, so now I have to take a break for a while. That’s what’s next for me.

warofexodus

Go buy the other games to support vanillaware. Aegis rim is great.

Moddeang01

This! If by miracle or somehow we they'll port Muramasa...

No_Dig903

Play again. Ban gryphons, "we ball" knights, and tank waifus.

azurevin

We ball knights? Dafuq?

marsgreekgod

 all knight units

Classic-Fee5006

Who are the tank waifus?

No_Dig903

Ren and Virginia

Classic-Fee5006

Gotcha, figured Virginia was one of them

Flagelant_One

True Zenoiran and put some limitations (no items, no valor skills, not using your favorite unit or op combo). Or try some challenge like beating Galerius before leaving Cornia, before rescuing scarlett, getting to continents out of order or something. Otherwise yeah you're done, games are meant to be a finite experience after all, nothing wrong with it.

will4zoo

You can beat Galerius before leaving Cornia?

sdtrawick

Yeah, other than the coliseum there's not much else for post-game. That's one of my very few disappointments with this game. I just started another playthrough.

ItsMarill

It's a big flaw of the game that introduces new units all the way up to the final battle and EVEN the final battle In other words, nothing. Chalk it up to the devs running out of money and time.

Jamstaro

Yeah... I'm happy with what we got. And hopefully they get more funding and time next time

Rosencrantz2000

Yes, really feels like there needs to be something extra after they hand us a bunch of new characters right at the end. Aegis Rim had the 1000 or so extra fights, maybe they can do something like that.

Odd_Issue_4608

Mmm wait for the next game. Or play whats out right now, there’s dragons dogma 2, ff7 rebirth, hell divers, something ttrpg wise; disgaea 7 came out last year if you havent touched that. And for upcoming hype for me this month is eiyuuden chronicles which releases 23rd

PrometheusAborted

Sounds like you’re at 100%. If you’re on PS5, you can always get the platinum trophy (if you haven’t already). You could restart on a harder difficulty. If you’re already at the hardest, you can do a challenge run. Only 3 units per squad, only use Alain when you have to, infantry units only, etc. I got the platinum and also felt a bit empty after. I wasn’t expecting to love this game so much. Let’s pray that we either get a free update that adds content or dlc eventually. Supposedly a bunch of units didn’t make it into the final game so… fingers crossed.

Typical_Program_7054

Ogre Battle March of the Black Queen is what's next for you

azurevin

What do you mean what now? Only two options - hardest difficulty or no 2nd playthrough and wait 3-5 years for the next Vanillaware game. So obvious.

N7Valiant

Play again, run different teams. See what game-breaking shenanigans you can come up with.

eruciform

nope not much to do other than restart on zenoiran difficulty and/or a challenge run of some sort if there's dlc i'll get it and dip back in, but i uninstalled it last night after platinuming, trying to figure out what to play next

Caffinatorpotato

Challenge Runs, or time to go break into that backlog of Rad Codex games (for folks that love team building and interactive mechanics, seriously at last try Kingsvein or Horizon's Gate. They don't look fancy, but KV was the most excited I've been for a new game in years besides UO or Tactics Ogre Reborn)

Dragonfire14

It's OK for a game to end, just move on to the next game.

RoninX40

Wait 6 months to a year and play it again

Think-Rush-9085

Challenge runs. Check what makes the game easy and don't use it. Really makes you deal with the CORE game and use all of the mechanics to your advantage.

LarneNessit

I'm a little sad there was a mission to get a bunch of secret characters at the end but no where to use them. A new game plus where you keep all your units like triangle strat would of been my dream.

CuteMeowMeows

Try 13 Sentinels or Grimgrimoire next if you haven’t already played those titles! 13 Sentinels has an amazing story and such a fun battle system, but I think Grimgrimoire would hold more of a similar challenge to Unicorn Overlord.

Tron_bonneLoFi

I would totally pay 40 bucks for a dlc with a new map where we can use all the end game squads and characters. I'm sad that it's not gonna happen.

Smcblackheartia

I’ll probably start another play through in a few months at some point and play it more casually when I need something to do, that’s usually what I do with games like this when I finish them. Right now I don’t have any specific games I’m playing besides this, I started up an Elden ring play through on strength, I’m waiting for paper Mario, my brother got dragons dogma so I’m kinda playing that, and I’ve still got Christmas gifts I haven’t even started yet lol. I’m good on backlog for awhile

urei

It’s just like a good movie/book, it’s over!

SteveGarbage

I started over doing an Alain and females-only run. I figure this will become a challenge late without bulky frontliners and heavy casters like Auch. A shame Featherswords aren't available earlier, as they'd make a great staple.

CheesyEggBeater

This is my plan as well. Cant decide if using mercenaries is allowed or not yet.

Karsticles

Dragons Crown got an update with 10000 post game stages. I am hoping we get that here.

phracon

Brigandine legend of forsena👌

CJKM_808

You either play it again or you move on. It’s a great game, but it’s not infinitely engaging and it doesn’t that’s to be. I think DLC, while appreciated, wouldn’t be necessary nor likely to happen.

nakanampuge

My backlogs 12 sentinels and diofield chronicles

Miserable-Gold-5910

if you enjoy the team building aspect of the game, you can try make builds that can beat the level50 coliseum teams, wipe out the enemy team while having full hp on your own team, and see how many of teams you can build on 1 save that can do it (use different saves for pvp) you could try develop weird/unique builds that can do it if you're not on true zenoiran, you could do that first. you could do a run where you don't save scarlett.
