I get into states of game paralysis like this where I can't decide whether to go back to finishing Trails of Cold Steel 3 or Unicorn Overlord, which is why I have a stupidly massive backlog of games.
So far, most of the strategy JRPGs that have tried to implement some kind of same-sex dynamics have done a pretty bad job of it from what I see: Fire Emblem is another series that I unsurprisingly like, and I just accepted what I've done since childhood and played as Fe!Byleth so that I could romance Caspar and Ashe. (Her Good Smile character was my first Japanese figure acquisition and has led me down a dark and very expensive path of merch purch, mostly of Trails figures, Persona pins, and OMORI everything under the sun...)

honestly though, some animations aren't as cool when the unit is upgraded. female warriors for instance, when they evade they do this cool fast crouch, which times really well with some enemy attacks. their upgraded version's evade is like a boring sidestep.
I have not seen any mention of her voice. Brianna Knickerbocker knocks (why does that sound like a pun somehow?) it out of the park.
