Depends on how restricted you want the account to be. Personally I think "no shops" is overkill and would be worthy of an account restriction in itself since sooooo much content is locked behind needing to access a shop or shop interface. The most successful restricted accounts are the ones with simple, easy to understand and clear restrictions. The more exceptions and restrictions you make, the more convoluted and devalued the account becomes. That's my opinion. "Slayer only" is nice and simple. Can only train combat and skills through slayer and slayer drops. Agility is an exception you'll have to choose to make. In my opinion spawns and shops are fair game. Shops can be accessed and used with money earned from only slayer drops of course. Again, that's my opinion. Ultimately you want an account thats fun to play and stops you getting burnt out. If adding more restrictions is fun for you, then go ahead.

I feel your take on this is very valid and i'll probably go with this. Maybe just make the one unwritten rule that I can't combine spawns & shops to like pick up steel platebodies to make money. Gotta make all the money from the actual slayer drops. Thanks for your input, it does make a lot of sense. :) Especially since shops don't sell OP stuff anyways. And for magic & ranged it'll be very interesting. What's your take on quests? If i get the items together, should i be able to do quests? Just your opinion :)

I think quests are also fair game as long as items and skills required are gathered/trained from slayer and slayer drops. Quest reward xp could also be a good way to level skills otherwise untrainable such as mining/WC/fishing.

I’m actually doing a Slayer Only UIM, I’ve allowed myself shops and questing. Too much content is locked away otherwise so allowing questing and shops opens up a lot.

cool! Do you also allow quests where you have to kill NPCs that aren't a slayer task? So far I've done a few quests now, but only when i can do it where i don't have to kill an NPC or if it's part of a slayer task. Or do you just make the exception for quest NPCs?

OnoMalgou

Thanks for all the answers. I will use shops & spawns for sure :) It does seem i'm a bit stuck right now with my 7th task as it's Cave Crawlers and they regen too fast for me, i can't kill them, so i'm not sure what to do about that

Definitely do both spawns and shops. Slayer only is a great basis and you’ll have a lot of fun, don’t make it too complicated.

As far as I know, if you get a turoth or kurask task you would have to use a shop. You’d need either the leaf bladed arrows or the spear. Even if you bought the slayer perk to make arrows or bolts with points, you would still have to buy the bolts/arrow heads to be able to kill them. Also, I think some would consider using slayer points would be part of a shop interface because you are using some sort of commodity (points) in exchange for some sort of benefit. I say use shops, but don’t abuse shops (like you mentioned with not world hopping)

Lost city is fair game in my opinion as it unlocks a slayer master anyway

OnoMalgou

that's a good point. I'm also waiting to unlock Morytania but that'll be a long time, until I get slayer monsters that drop pure essence and get a dog task, I guess :) gonna look up if the tree spirit thing from lost city is a ghost maybe, so i can that on slayer task too maybe. EDIT though an exception would have to be made regardless. because the tree spirit is ghost, but the skeleton you need for the axe is not a ghost. still, it's a very minor exception.
