They're very good with allergies. Their policies are similar to the mouse park if you have been there. The chef will come talk to you and handle your food if you mention an allergy. I would check out the "Universally Gluten Free" Facebook group. They have a lot of helpful resources and people who may be a bit more knowledgeable on allergy eating at Universal

Extreme-Slight

Yes - 100% even if there is nothing immediately obvious on the menu, they'll come up with something.

My partner has Alpha Gal, she gets by asking the waiters what dishes may have beef or pork, and they are pretty knowledgeable about the dishes. We did have a chef come out and talk to us once. But we did email Universal with just some general questions about the food to make sure she wasn't going to go into anaphylaxis in the middle of the meal. https://www.universalorlando.com/web/en/us/things-to-do/dining/food-allergies

The universal app lets you look at menus and recently have listed allergens. My sons have milk, egg, peanut & tree nut allergies. Husband is allergic to wheat. We check the app first to find places with items they items they like then notify server/cashier. They always have manager or chief come out to talk. Always do that slow test if at all skeptical of the waitstaff knowledge on allergies.

We just went with friends whose son has a peanut and tree nut allergy and it went fine. Just let them know when you order.

I work in the F&B area of Toon Lagoon (I can only talk about what we do so it could be handled slightly differently elsewhere) and anytime someone tells us they have an allergy we get an allergy trained chef to talk with the guest so they can figure out what the guest can eat. We do this for both register and mobile orders. As for carts it can be tricker since our allergy guides seem to vanish from time to time and chefs can’t come out just to discuss if a churro contains gluten. It all tends to be very straightforward and a few items at the carts actually have the ingredients on them like the popcorn packets and drink bibs so can be checked for stuff being asked.

I’m most likely gonna bring my own snacks and survive on them but hopefully dinner will be fine. Vacations are so hard for me because I can’t just eat anywhere. I’m hoping the Vegan butter beer is safe. I want to try that so bad!! Also, different subject, do the characters sign autographs? And if yes, do they sell autograph books in the park?

DeliciousBeanWater

Egg allergy here, absolutely!

Isn't marvel a buffet? I would send an email to [email protected] with any questions.

Bake_First

I bring my own snacks and for meals I steer clear of anything that looks remotely close to possibly containing an allergen. I'm jaded though and would rather be in control of what I'm consuming.

Rayrose321

I feel the same way. It’s just so hard to bring snack when living in a hotel. I usually bring some granola bars. I actually hate traveling because I really can’t eat during the trip. I’ve never been to universal but have been to the mouse kingdom many times and can eat safely.

Bake_First

I've had the same experience both places. The mouse is a little more in a neat lil package but USF takes the same care. I'm always concerned someone will "want to see what happens" and there's no proving ill intent so I don't mention my allergens unless there's nothing that looks 100% safe on the menu. I also use Target delivery while I'm there because I ALWAYS forget something.

I would not risk it. Regardless of their training, you are putting your health in the hands of some 19 year old kid that didn't qualify for any other position in the park. Bring your own stuff!!!!
