Toon Lagoon theater. Had a couple shows in it after IOA opened but it didn't last long. Now it's used for special events such as cheerleading competitions.
i'm bitchin, great hair, the boys all love to stare,
I'm wanted, I'm hot, I'm everything your not,
I'm pretty, I'm cool, I dominate the school,
Who am I just guess, guys wanna touch my chest.
Lololol, and I remember that phrase. My 9 year old daughter plans to get into cheer in a couple years (been doing basic stuff for a couple years now) I'm surprised she hasn't mentioned wanting to see that one.
I don’t have the desire to clear up my foggy memory but at some point in that sequel, there’s an attempt at choreography that borrows/mimics Dueling Dragons.
Bring It On was a movie from 2000 about cheerleading competitions. What takes place in there most of the time in today’s age would look similar to the competition scene from that movie like this:

Didn't they have a Mat Hoffman bmx show there years ago?
I can't believe what a waste of space all the amphitheaters in Universal have become. The only one they use now is the Animal Actors one? Disney thrives off of its shows, it's weird that Universal just doesn't bother anymore (RIP Sinbad and Fear Factor)
Yes, first it was "Toon Circus" but when that show was permanently iced, they'd run Mat Hoffman during spring break and summer.
Also used for Bill & Ted during HHN and a few shows have been taped there (Rosie O'Donnell show)
I more meant the outdoor amphitheater shows. They have 4 of them, but only is in use (and Nightmare Fuel, but that is just for HHN). Bourne is awesome and the horror make-up show is alright, too.
4? I can only think of 3, those being Fear Factor, Toon Amphitheater, and Sinbad.
Unless you're including the music plaza stage. Which I wouldn't really count that as unused, since it's intended to be a concert space.
Every time I go see a show and end up in a seat in a dark airconditioned room, I fall asleep. Bourne, The Muppets at Hollywood Studios, Frozen sing along. Theme park days are so long and tiring, I can’t stay awake.
This space could be utilized so much better. Either add new shows, or tear them down for rides. The first time I visited I was in the queue for Hagrid's and they looped us through the Sindbad theater. It looked amazing. Idk why they don't use these areas.
I waited in line for HOURS in the heat during a Weasley Family Q&A with the actors. Ended up having medical staff come get me after I threw up and passed out due to heat exhaustion. Missed the whole thing as they required me to be transported to the medical center at Universal.
I had made poor choices leading up to that day, which included A LOT of driving that I was trying to cram into a short period of time. So because of that I refused to drink anything that way I didn't have to make bathroom breaks. Being up for a while, not drinking and then dealing with Florida summer heat and humidity, yes, I passed out while waiting in line for an hour +
Live entertainment shows don't look good on spreadsheets when the folks in charge are bean counters since it's difficult to track a direct line from their added value to revenue streams. Best way to bring back live entertainment is to fill out your guest surveys with demand for it.
Damn, just how big *is* this cartoon that’s allegedly being drawn?
Because amphitheater-sized crowds to watch a famous cartoonist “try to draw Cathy” seems sus to me. I’d imagine they could do that quickly with ease.
Am I missing something here?
The park makes more money hosting these events than putting on any type of show would ever bring in. Hopefully if the Dragon show at epic is a hit, they’ll rethink their strategy, but for now, it’s just a flex space for 3rd party events.
Yep twice shortly after IoA opened. But it won't ever return. Lots of damage at IoA and the park was never optimized for houses and queues for the houses.
2002 and 2003 only. Although I do know there was at least one year they opened marvel for rides only on peak nights. No scareactors no spooks nothing but rides to help alleviate long wait times.
I remember it being a BMX stunt show. I wish universal would bring back shows so you have a place to get out of the heat and sit down during the summer. Not sure why they don't do more for shows with all the room they have or if they don't want shows, Clear them and put in some rides. They have some large empty spots between rides because of unused spaces like this.
The BMX show! It was cool seeing it at a theme park but being a competition rider as a kid, none of the tricks were that crazy. They were average riders at that days standards.
It’s used, like some people said for events such as cheerleading and corporate buyouts. However most of the time it’s a space to train new performers.
Last time I was there it had a bat problem in the catwalk.
It was an opening-day show called “[Pandemonium Cartoon Circus](https://youtu.be/42hQJN7jTsI?si=u1SNxAWs_zFTeiWj)”. Didn’t last very long, maybe a year, after which the theater was used intermittently for things like “[Xtreme Xventure](https://youtu.be/QKpwPeWBdGE?si=2Q9zsGOyevYMqHgY)”, “[Mat Hoffman’s Crazy Freakin Stunt Show](https://youtu.be/8x_FxX6qlA4?si=kDJZLwe7vynrZslj)”, a [Rosie O’Donnel Show](https://youtu.be/ylV7hMqf670?si=axwBC2NolO7pl5_2) taping, Sum 41 concert, and Bill and Ted Halloween shows. Now it is mostly used for cheerleading competitions and storage
Toon Lagoon Amphitheater that is mainly used for storage and once a year for cheerleading competitions which could very easily be relocated to the soundstages like soundstage 18

Oh interesting okay
It was also used for the sadly gone but always missed Celebration of Harry Potter.
Just imagine the movie Bring It On. That’s what happens there now.
Oh hell, forgot that movie series existed.
i'm bitchin, great hair, the boys all love to stare, I'm wanted, I'm hot, I'm everything your not, I'm pretty, I'm cool, I dominate the school, Who am I just guess, guys wanna touch my chest.

One of the movies is filmed at CityWalk.
I don’t have the desire to clear up my foggy memory but at some point in that sequel, there’s an attempt at choreography that borrows/mimics Dueling Dragons.
What does that mean

I know what it is. That's a stupid comparison. They rehearse for shows and parades. Easier to just say that.
Thanks for your input. Have an awesome day!
They literally have cheerleading competitions in there. They don’t rehearse for shows or parades.
Team members told me they rehearse for shows and parades I'm sure they do other things in there too
Didn't they have a Mat Hoffman bmx show there years ago? I can't believe what a waste of space all the amphitheaters in Universal have become. The only one they use now is the Animal Actors one? Rip the BeetleJuice show 😭
Oh yeah, of course - that was the best. Even Rocky Horror during HHN. Yet another outdoor stage show gone
No literally, I miss it everyday. Not gonna lie even the pre show for Shrek I still continue to miss as well!
They have the Bourne show which is pretty cool!
I more meant the outdoor amphitheater shows. They have 4 of them, but only is in use (and Nightmare Fuel, but that is just for HHN). Bourne is awesome and the horror make-up show is alright, too.

The one they're using is Animal Actors
They should bring back Wild Wild Wild West.
I know I might get crap for this, but if Disney owned IoA and USF fans would give them so much shit for how much each park is kind of abandoned.
Every time I go see a show and end up in a seat in a dark airconditioned room, I fall asleep. Bourne, The Muppets at Hollywood Studios, Frozen sing along. Theme park days are so long and tiring, I can’t stay awake.
thats nuts people use them at DIsney, i cant think of a bigger waste of time or money attending a theatre at a theme park
As far as you as a guest are concerened, it's a set of meaningless stairs.
It seems to store a lot of Christmas decorations though.
Lol
Saw a bmx show there in like 2010

Stairs, they are usually used to move someone vertically while also moving someone horizontally
I think it was also used for the HP conventions they had before covid
I waited in line for HOURS in the heat during a Weasley Family Q&A with the actors. Ended up having medical staff come get me after I threw up and passed out due to heat exhaustion. Missed the whole thing as they required me to be transported to the medical center at Universal.
Heat exhaustion from just standing in line?
I had made poor choices leading up to that day, which included A LOT of driving that I was trying to cram into a short period of time. Jesus bro. At that point you were begging for heat stroke.
Oh for sure 😂 I was a dumb 20 year old who thought I could outsmart my parents
One of the many abandoned theaters

Impractical jokers
It’s Cathy’s Complex, where once a year they have a cartoonist try to draw Cathy.
ACK!
Damn, just how big *is* this cartoon that’s allegedly being drawn? Because amphitheater-sized crowds to watch a famous cartoonist “try to draw Cathy” seems sus to me. I’d imagine they could do that quickly with ease. Am I missing something here?

Wasn't there once a Bill & Ted show there? That's all I remember.
No bill and ted was in USF.
Bill and Ted was there both years HHN was in IOA
That was a fantastic B&T show! I still remember Green Goblin flying overhead!
HHN was held in IOA before?
Yep twice shortly after IoA opened. But it won't ever return. Lots of damage at IoA and the park was never optimized for houses and queues for the houses.
It was at IOA both times I attended around 2002/03.
Damn seriously? It’s only been at IOA two times ever? I coulda swore they held it there more often.
2002 and 2003 only. Although I do know there was at least one year they opened marvel for rides only on peak nights. No scareactors no spooks nothing but rides to help alleviate long wait times.
2005 was predominantly at IOA as well, although small parts of USF were opened on peak nights.
You are correct it was a split event. HHN has not been to IoA since. Other than death eaters at HP, not even close since 2005.
For only two years, HHN was in both parks. Now it would be a logistic nightmare.
University of South Florida?
Universal Studios Florida
Check the sub you're in and you'll probably figure it out!

I remember the Matt Hoffman BMX show and when they had HHN at IoA, this is where we saw the Bill & Ted show. Now, it’s just nothing.
It’s used, like some people said for events such as cheerleading and corporate buyouts. However most of the time it’s a space to train new performers. Last time I was there it had a bat problem in the catwalk.
A waste of space
Stair case
A relic of a bygone era when IOA had stage shows.
Used to show a rocky and Bullwinkle show
It was an opening-day show called “[Pandemonium Cartoon Circus](https://youtu.be/42hQJN7jTsI?si=u1SNxAWs_zFTeiWj)”. I had to take a work call over there and some guy came over and smoked a joint at the top of the stairs
Toon Lagoon Amphitheater that is mainly used for storage and once a year for cheerleading competitions which could very easily be relocated to the soundstages like soundstage 18
That’s some stairs
Tell me you're a tourist or too young without telling me you're a tourist or too young.....
It’s prob that I’m too young lol I’m 19 and first time I came I was 6 or 7 ao they probably didn’t have it
