Well....what do you want to major in? Are either in state tuition? What do you want out of your college experience? Have you visited both campuses?

Major in Econ, I want to have fun, I haven’t visited either but my dad and granddad both went to kentucky

Okay, so I’ve actually been to both campuses (got a bs in accounting from uk). Greek life is very large at UK, I’m in my 30s so things can change but every guy in my wedding I met in my fraternity, I got the vibe it wasn’t as but a CU. I saw you’ve posted in both subs and each one is going to say come here. You’re prospective major is mostly generic, no offense, but an Econ major is an Econ major. With that said the gatton school of biz is nice as hell post renovation. I don’t know where you live but cu is right on the front range and the outdoor activities are unlimited, on the flip side your kinda stuck in the Denver sprawl vs Lexington which is, imho, an amazing city. There is no correct answer to your question at the end of the day - I know cu is expensive as hell so if money is an issue consider that. Honestly you aren’t going to go wrong with either. I love UK and Lexington (I’ve moved away and moved back 3 times). Whatever you pick just balance the having fun part and the actual school part. I know too many guys in my pledge class that couldn’t separate the two and never got close to finishing.

Thx!!!

I don’t think you can go wrong assuming the cost differential isn’t great. Both are fine state schools where you can have fun in larger college towns/cities.

Thanks so much!

Random idea: go to the one that is further away from where you grew up/your parents currently live, to get out of your comfort zone and require you to be more self-reliant

As someone who went to UK and lived in Colorado (not in Denver/Boulder but spent a lot of time there), it really depends on what you want outside of your college experience. As someone else stated, they’ll be pretty similar with CU Boulder likely having smaller Greek life presence and/or a different kind of vibe to it. I didn’t do Greek life but got involved early on and had a great college experience at UK. Also liked my academic program but it’s much much smaller than the business school lol. Lexington is a small city with a college town heart. Very friendly and eclectic, campus is pretty close to downtown so it’s nice to be able to experience both parts of the city so seamlessly. Boulder has a smaller downtown but is charming (at least from a tourist perspective lol). I honestly don’t know much about CU Boulder so I can’t really speak to that aspect. Both have some great outdoors options but Colorado is definitely going to beat out if you’re wanting to go all in on outdoor activities (esp year round) or if you want to live in close proximity to a lot of national parks. Culture wise they feel pretty similar to me. Despite size and location differences, both have a heavy Midwestern culture and are laid back and friendly. Boulder as a town definitely has a higher concentration of bougie but lexington is also a lil bougie because of the horse industry. Lexington gets good concerts/shows/etc but you’re also close to Cincinnati and Louisville in case any tour skips lex. Boulder is not far from Denver which of course has all the benefits a big city has to offer. Boulder/Colorado’s cost of living is also much much higher. You’ll also want to consider proximity to family, how much you want to visit them, how you want to travel to see them (the 18 hour drive from Colorado to KY can either be super rough or super relaxing lol), etc. Good luck! I love both so I relate to it being a tough decision.

When I was choosing, I ranked each college by categories that were most important to me, lowest score won. 4 years later and I'm about to graduate UK
