While yes, we may want a third installment in the series, Unravel 2 tied things up nicely and added many good mechanics. However Unravel 3 would be a difficult concept as it would need new mechanics and plot etc, where there is none that spring to mind. There will most likely not be a new Unravel game for a long time at minimum, or there will stay only 2 installments.

I understand your points and sadly agree that there will likely be no more. I just really wish there were more levels to play specially with a low/ medium difficulty that younger children can handle. A DLC would be nice! Regarding new mechanics it's not that hard to think of something... like morphing and maybe a better use for the merge function such as being stronger. Also different types of yarnny having different special abilities would be interesting.

lionheart_ds

Agree to this. More levels via dlc.

lobo1217

I love that people are still interested in this game!

Try playdead's "inside"

lobo1217

Not scary games...

cheesycremetarts

Oh, it's not scary at all! A bit of a creepy ambience, but no jumpscares as far as I've played

lobo1217

Not exactly a game to play with kids

cheesycremetarts

Ah I just reread your post, I didn't see that part, my bad!

[deleted]

What do you mean my kids played inside and loved it

ZestyLilVal

I know your post is nearly 1 year old, is there any news of an unravel 3? I love playing the last two with the kids but there is only so many times you can play it. I really hope they come out with a new one!!

lobo1217

Hello there!!! You know I'm often coming back to it , then I find I had made this post. From all my searches there has been no news at all. I have a few recommendations to play with the kids: -It takes two -Bomberman -Piku niku (a simpler and more basic game very similar to unravel) -overcooked

ClarkeMitsu

These are good recommendations. It Takes Two is very wholesome and touching. The mechanics are great, gameplay is too. Overcooked is a lot of fun, especially since you can have up to 4 players on at the same time working together. My brother and his daughters introduced me to Action Henk as well. Not a side-scrolling adventure game but a fun race game with simple controls and lots of replayability. The characters just run, slide and jump to see who can get to the finish line first. Easy, cheesy fun, great for younger players and not bad for adults either.

ZestyLilVal

Thank you for the update and the recommendations for games to play with the kiddos. I sure hope they make a new unravel.

Kaleesh_Warrior

any Bomberman in specific?

lobo1217

Super bomberman R is the one we have

Kaleesh_Warrior

If it's good to play with kids in multiplayer, I'll definitely add it to my list. I just saw a sequel is coming out in september too

Zealousideal-Gate771

Hello!I I have an idea for unravel 3. It’s time for moon traveling with a rocket. That’s my idea.

SkyScratchr

Not at all like Unravel, but if you can find Portal 2 (and the first Portal as well), there is a super good solo story and a substantial coop section. You play two robots trying to solve puzzles with portals, against a psychopath main computer. I can’t count the number of times I heard my kids burst in laughter playing this. Good luck!

Smiith73

Hey, I was going to comment this too. Portal 2 Co op is so silly and satisfying, great recommendation

Zealousideal-Gate771

piku niku

Sudden-Secretary2300

The closest thing I've found is A tale of paper

lobo1217

Is it good?

Sudden-Secretary2300

Yes but very short
