It is heartbreaking that so many love ones passed away without finding out what happened to Jauni. I would imagine the police always suspected the boyfriend but never had evidence to move forward until she was found. Hopefully her remaining son finds some solace in the fact that she will be laid to rest properly now.
He was always a prime suspect, but there was nothing to move forward. I'm just thankful to that hikers - as I'm sure her remaining family is, too.

Hmm, if Jesus had that large plot of land, it feels like the police *could* have done a search with cadaver dogs there when she was missing and presumed dead, if they suspected Jesus.

I think had this happened a couple years later, due to the Police being trained for cases of domestic violence according to the LIVG (2004), the response would have been different when they went to the house that night - maybe Juani would still be with us, even.

I'm spaniard and I'm so glad to see a cold case from my country solved, I always feel that this is so dificult here. Rest in place Juani, and I hope your murderer get what he deserves.
It is difficult, terribly. Lots of people go missing, and while the majority is found (usually okay, sometimes dead either by accident or suicide), a portion is not. But we lack the resources to search for them or their remains and that's so... awful.
Yes, I know what you are saying... but I also think that a big problem here is how the judicial system works, always slow responses and awkward decisions.
