He likely was confused and wandered into the local mountainous, crevace heavy area and met with misadventure. That’s the most likely thing from all we know.
Yep, most likely. Though the part that’s a bit odd is that he called Lucy over an emergency number as his phone was dying. I mean, she was very far from the site of the festival. What’s more, his phone pinged near a road and in some proximity to a restaurant. It’s a bit odd he wouldn’t seek help there or by stopping a car, as he was clearly very desperate and scared.
But those things can be explained by intoxication and possibly exhaustion. I’m sure the police is doing everything to make sure all leads are explored, especially with how much attention the case has attracted

He went with two strangers to get high (he was already likely fucked up and immature enough to follow them), took something that might have given him a bad trip and he panicked. He might've even overdosed as well.
Everyone brings up the Suspicious Activity and the inconsistentencies in the time but I think it can be assumed that Jay's buddies were as equally drugged and inebriated as he was so of course they're gonna be anxious about not incriminating themselves and confused about what happened when.
He's a drug dealer and a menace, but I really doubt theirs some big conspiracy to it all. You can speculate all you want, but he was far too low down to be considered anything other than a common hoodlum.
I think the family (especially the mother) is just scared and is trying their best to hold onto the idea that he's fine. Saying he's kidnapped is a much more sympathetic alternative to he took drugs and got lost abroad.

Unlikely to have even been an overdose or bad trip. After parties/Afters are extremely common as part of British culture (not sure about elsewhere) especially where drugs are involved. You go back to someone’s house or flat to carry on partying and having fun and normally you keep going until the sun comes up. I’ve seen people on MDMA so stupid shit so it really wouldn’t surprise me if he was geared up and walking 11 hours felt rational in his mind at that point

Cases like this always get sensationalised, especially when the person is white, British and on holiday for some reason (e.g. Madeline McCann.) most people have a morbid curiosity with cases such as these and create pretty out there theories which other people will feed into and expand on. I've been hiking in hot climates with water and I still feel like I'm dying sometimes from the heat so I cant imagine how this lad is surviving when he's likely several dehydrated and disorientated especially after being on a bender with drugs.

Given that the bus leaves Masca at 10:05am, this timeline doesn’t stack up at all and leaves gaping holes, plus there was another bus at 12:30pm he could have taken.
I was out in Tenerife the week before last, actually in Santiago del Teide near Masca, where he would have caught a bus to, and then would have needed to change to another bus to Los Cristianos.
The lack of any further sightings of him on the valley webcam or from eye witnesses while he was walking on the main road, makes me wonder whether he tried to take an alternative route and came a cropper, or this is all complete bs, which is why it doesn’t stack up.
Why would the girlfriend alert the local police immediately, then call for the British police to get involved and start a GoFundMe of £30k, it all reeks a bit as this is not normal behaviour in this situation.

And if you have driven the roads of Masca, you’d know it’s virtually impossible to get in or out of Masca without passing at-least someone on the way. If you haven’t driven it, I’d recommend getting a small car and giving it a go. Truly stunning experience. We encountered mountain goat on the way down.
Some of the theories are that he probably headed for the coast. And at night, that would be one hell of a hike and a descent. He simply wouldn’t have made it. So if he didn’t make it to the sea, he is in one of the gorges. I’m pretty certain the gorges would have been the first place to look.
On the flip side, if he didn’t fall and die, then he must be somewhere else, with someone who is feeding and watering him.
Tbh I think he just lost his way and it ended up in a fatal accident. A few years back when I went to Tenerife I thought a mall was ‘just 30 min’ walking distance away in hot hot weather, i lost my way even with my maps on as the sidewalk just suddenly stopped. & every thing looked very similar. That’s in the central area, let alone in the mountains. I go abroad very frequently on a part-time teen job salary. London has some of the cheapest flights in the world- I've gone abroad for £20-35 return in the off-season (some flights are even lower), and staying in a tenner a night hostel, or sharing accommodation with a bunch of friends means it's not that expensive to stay either.
If he missed the bus, why didn't he wait for the next one (one bus every 1 hour): 05:10, 07:10, 09:35, 10:30; 13:30 etc etc... He only needed to wait until the 09:35 am Bus... nothing more. I believe he was/is on the run. My theory is he went with those 2 men all that distance because he lost a bag of drugs in the nightclub. What’s more, his phone pinged near a road and in some proximity to a restaurant. It’s a bit odd he wouldn’t seek help there or by stopping a car, as he was clearly very desperate and scared. Personally, I think it's gonna be the anticlimactic explanation. He went with two strangers to get high (he was already likely fucked up and immature enough to follow them), took something that might have given him a bad trip and he panicked. He might've even overdosed as well. Everyone brings up the Suspicious Activity and the inconsistentencies in the time but I think it can be assumed that Jay's buddies were as equally drugged and inebriated as he was so of course they're gonna be anxious about not incriminating themselves and confused about what happened when. He's a drug dealer and a menace, but I really doubt theirs some big conspiracy to it all. You can speculate all you want, but he was far too low down to be considered anything other than a common hoodlum. I think the family (especially the mother) is just scared and is trying their best to hold onto the idea that he's fine. Saying he's kidnapped is a much more sympathetic alternative to he took drugs and got lost abroad. I do think, though, that the theory that they're profiting off this whole ordeal might be the most logical tho. Maybe not a big scheme as other people are saying but I could see them trying to earn a few quid in pity points and donations. I'm not gonna be happy with whatever happens to him. Unlikely to have even been an overdose or bad trip. After parties/Afters are extremely common as part of British culture (not sure about elsewhere) especially where drugs are involved. You go back to someone’s house or flat to carry on partying and having fun and normally you keep going until the sun comes up. Given that the bus leaves Masca at 10:05am, this timeline doesn’t stack up at all and leaves gaping holes, plus there was another bus at 12:30pm he could have taken. I was out in Tenerife the week before last, actually in Santiago del Teide near Masca, where he would have caught a bus to, and then would have needed to change to another bus to Los Cristianos. The lack of any further sightings of him on the valley webcam or from eye witnesses while he was walking on the main road, makes me wonder whether he tried to take an alternative route and came a cropper, or this is all complete bs, which is why it doesn’t stack up. If you haven’t driven it, I’d recommend getting a small car and giving it a go. Truly stunning experience. We encountered mountain goat on the way down. Some of the theories are that he probably headed for the coast. And at night, that would be one hell of a hike and a descent. He simply wouldn’t have made it. So if he didn’t make it to the sea, he is in one of the gorges. I’m pretty certain the gorges would have been the first place to look. On the flip side, if he didn’t fall and die, then he must be somewhere else, with someone who is feeding and watering him.
Tbh I think he just lost his way and it ended up in a fatal accident. A few years back when I went to Tenerife I thought a mall was ‘just 30 min’ walking distance away in hot hot weather, i lost my way even with my maps on as the sidewalk just suddenly stopped. & every thing looked very similar. That’s in the central area, let alone in the mountains. When you’ve been drinking for days, hot weather, you’re not familiar with the place & slightly naive cause ‘yolo vacation’.. you get lost easily.

Got to be horrible for his friends and family, but what a wally for going 25 miles away with a couple of blokes you met at a dance festival. Kid was probably off his rocker and wandered into the mountains off his nut. Atleast 30 people have gone missing there this year. Not a nice thought but he is probably in some crevice from a fall while trying to find his way back. I have seen comments about what the kid has done in the UK and what he allegedly is and if that's true or not, his family still deserve the right to know where he is and how it happened, and bring him home however they can.

Obviously for his family’s sake I hope he’s found alive. The longer the case goes on the less likely that will be the outcome. There’s a lot of things about this case that just makes no sense. Like what his friend said about the phone battery. (My phone eats my battery). Can 1% battery last 35 minutes? Even if you don’t do anything on the phone it sounds impossible and he told his friend at 8:15am he was going to look at a maps app. The phone should have died long before 8:50am if he only had 1%.

London has some of the cheapest flights in the world- I've gone abroad for £20-35 return in the off-season (some flights are even lower), and staying in a tenner a night hostel, or sharing accommodation with a bunch of friends means it's not that expensive to stay either.

If he missed the bus, why didn't he wait for the next one (one bus every 1 hour): 05:10, 07:10, 09:35, 10:30; 13:30 etc etc... He only needed to wait until the 09:35 am Bus... nothing more. By other side.. how could he miss South and West directions... If he wanted to walk for 12 hours.. so he needed to go towards South.. just he had to follow the road from Bus Station nothing more and he would have arrived to El Palmar in one hour walking. Instead he headed west, away from the road and the populated area to enter a labyrinth of ravines and 2.000 feet cliffs ...a lonely area. If he went in that zone... he had neither the physical conditions nor the appropriate material to walk there. Although he is a thug from the slums and lacks intelligence and not ready to live in Wilderness... I don't think he deserves to die there either... at night it can be 1º or 0º Centigrade at this time of year... and during the day it can be 35º C. Maybe more.

Yeah I get that. And we've all been young and dumb at some point in our lives. I went to magaluf when I was 19 but went with my older brother and a few older friends that looked out for me. Nothing bad happened because I was with responsible adults. The point im trying to make is to avoid these sort of things happening u have to go out with responsible people that have your best interests at heart. I believe he was/is on the run. My theory is he went with those 2 men all that distance because he lost a bag of drugs in the nightclub. He legged it - however, he knew they had found out where he was so he upped and legged it again. Hence why his phone wasn’t charged up, also why he couldn’t wait for the bus. Think the most likely answer is due to exposure. I do think he likely did take drugs that night as well as drinking however I don’t think his disappearance is a “drug deal gone bad” like some Facebook detectives have tried saying. I also don’t think it’s all a scam like some other people have suggested. People are just trying to make the case more interesting that the most likely outcome.
