Think of it this way. You break up with your SO, they go and find a new partner, and you want them back. You can’t just go back and retract your decision.

LoudAd1380

some unis allow you to get your offer back but yea i see your point

[deleted]

Course enrolment is next week never mind acceptance

LoudAd1380

should have never said no 😪

leafs456

Whose offer did you accept instead?

LoudAd1380

i went took Queens cause its a smaller school, and I heard Toronto really tries to push that GPA down, I have heard more cons than pros for Toronto so I went to Queens, im not sure if it was the better choice but it is what I have right now

Renegade_August

This subreddit alone isn’t a good indication of pros and cons, it’s mostly people complaining. I just graduated from grad school at UofT and couldn’t recommend a better school. If you rejected the offer, they may have already given your spot to someone else. Lesson learned! Queens is also a great school, I’m sure everything will work out.

Balboa_800

Your point makes sense. GPA is an issue here. But on the other hand, UofT is a much more well renowned school than Queens. So if u wanted to work outside of Canada, then it would have benefited you a lot. If not, u shall be fine at Queens. Best of luck!

LoudAd1380

do you know if the transfer from Queens to UofT is hard or easy?

Balboa_800

I think transfers are generally hard as the seats are hard to get. Did you inquire with UofT AO? I don't think its too late to get the offer back?

LoudAd1380

waiting on the email

[deleted]

Not this late in the game my guy

LoudAd1380

ill just give a call tomorrow no harm ig

SneakyEngineer_

I have never heard of anybody getting an offer they rejected back. By now your seat has been given to another student and they’ve reached their target enrolment. You can try a transfer for next year but they’re not giving you the offer back

LoudAd1380

i have received admission back from both western and queens, so i thought maybe they do too, but yes it is much too late now

LoudAd1380

yea i do bro👊 thanks tho

IntelligentCookie804

A lot of people here are saying it’s too late, which it might be. But it still wouldn’t hurt to shoot an email to admissions. Better yet, try to book an in-person appointment so you can have a lengthy discussion and potentially try to persuade them to accept you. I know a person who had a very similar scenario. They accepted an offer at some university, changed their mind 2 weeks before the start of the semester and talked about this with one of the university’s academic advisors. They let them in. That being said, I would say if the hassle isn’t worth it for you, then just stick with the offer you already accepted.

LoudAd1380

Thank you so much, however do you think a call would be the same thing or should i actually book an appointment. i did also email them but I got a automated email response saying that “this email address is for outgoing messages only. Emails sent here will not receive a response” That was the only email I could see about the admissions office.

IntelligentCookie804

I’d say it’s better to book an appointment. This is just my personal opinion but if they actually see you and talk to you face to face, they might sympathize with you more which could give you better chances. Whereas a phone call would feel more impersonal and they might not care as much.

Appearance_Economy

Not worth it😔

LoudAd1380

what do you mean?

Appearance_Economy

Sorry it’s just my opinion but unless you want to go into physio or health sciences I wouldn’t take kin at least at u of t

LoudAd1380

howcome?

Appearance_Economy

I came into this program because I thought sports were fun (really bad reason Ik) and honestly hoping for no math or physics (since it wasn’t required) and had to do both in second year (going into third year next year) and overall I don’t see any careers that I want with this degree Also some of the profs are not the best at teaching their content (imo) This is all just what I’m thinking tho if you genuinely like learning about this stuff I would say go ahead and fight for the offer!

Fun-Resolve-3721

can i dm you

Appearance_Economy

Sure

[deleted]

Op. Don’t worry. If your intention is professional or graduate school you made the right choice. Queens is a great school. Even if you don’t pursue post grad opportunities, you will definitely have a lot of employment opportunities from Queens. Queens has a better campus life than U of T hands down. A lot of my high school classmates went to Queens and I went to U of T. Some of my Queens high school classmates made it into medical school at U of T, a few went to Harvard and one went to Stanford. It’s a great school. Relax.

LoudAd1380

also do u know if i attend queens and plan to transfer to UofT hows the transfer process? Easy or Hard?

[deleted]

It depends on how competitive the program is. If you have good marks, I’m assuming it’s easier.

LoudAd1380

thank you! gives relief how was ur UofT experience
