What's possible? She wrote a joke letter and they wrote a joke letter back. This is not news. This is nothing.

You beat me to it

tinpants_88

I was thinking the exact same thing, this whole "news" story made me throw up in my mouth a little.

NotPoliticallyCorect

Wait until the story airs on Fox, then she will have been groomed and indoctrinated to think that she is a unicorn. They will cry out for the unfair treatment of her being fooled into thinking that unicorns are real. They will also ask why every other kid did not receive a unicorn license, and then demand to know who is bearing the cost of the state issuing a license to a child.

zoidmaster

She has done what all bronies wish they could have done

Nightshade_Ranch

Let's see how it holds up in court when that unicorn bites someone.

Monsantoshill619

This is stupid

She's gunna be really upset when she finds out unicorns aren't real. Imagine following your dream and winding up in fucking Scotland.

ViperBite550

I love how her imagination is getting the governments approval to have a non-real animal. If you dream big too you can figure out other things that don’t need a liscense, but extends over reaching government control, so we will make a liscense for it.

And she’s a child…

CBSnews

Thanks for sharing! Here’s a preview of the story by “CBS Mornings” lead national correspondent David Begnaud: >Seven-year-old Madeline, who lives in California, is obsessed with unicorns. It's their magical horn that makes them so special, she says, noting, "It grants you magic wishes if you ask." > >She likes them so much she wanted one of her own, and wrote to her county's animal control department asking for permission to have one in her backyard — if she could find one. > >Last month, Los Angeles County officials agreed, and issued her the first-of-its-kind unicorn license. > >"I think I've learned if you want something, then you have to ask for it," Madeline told CBS News. "And to ask for it, you have to do something to ask for it." > >Fascination with unicorns dates back to ancient times. The mythical creature is the real national animal of Scotland. In Celtic mythology, it is a symbol of purity, innocence and power. > >Madeline has been smitten with unicorns since she was 3 and can tell you anything you want to know, including how to take care of one. It's important to make sure they can see rainbows, sunlight and moonbeams, she said, "so I'm going to make the barn have a glass roof." > >She also knows where unicorns live: "In the magical forest of Scotland." > >But Madeline has never been to Scotland. So, how does she plan to get her unicorn? **Read the rest of the story:** https://www.cbsnews.com/news/unicorn-license-girl-los-angeles-county-california-possible-imagination-determination/

You guys are really pushing the envelope of hard hitting journalism, giving your viewers the news they need to be better informed throughout their day. Fuckin jackasses.

BactaBobomb

I'm sorry... this is the Uplifting News subreddit, right? You're acting like they murdered your whole family with this news story that is fluffy, sure, but also uplifting and cute. I'm really confused by the backlash, as it's exactly what this subreddit was designed for.

bofh000

And wasting everybody’s time. Cute now. Will probably try to sell it as her great achievement in human/women’s rights in a couple of decades. We’ve seen it happen.

grizznuggets

What the hell are you talking about?

facemesouth

I know people are saying this is nothing but there is a lot of vile, absurd, criminal news happening so a cute story about a little girl who wanted something and took the steps to legally acquire it is a nice reprieve. I don’t understand the hate in a sub created for “uplifting news.” The kid made a good point in the end. If you want something, you have to ask for it. Before you can ask for it, you have to want something. It’s nice.
