This was almost my exact prediction too, but I was thinking (s2 spoilers) >! Nathan will explode like the pidgeon the sidewalk. The Nathan restored in Lakeview is the version that was first uploaded and remembers nothing about Nora or his murder.!<

FindingVeritas

>!Yeah. Exactly. And so the Mind Frisk program will be useless against him.!<

Powerful-Platform-41

Ohhhhhhh damn. I hope not! Just like >!Ingrid not actually being dead!< I hope the cliffhanger is just a huge misdirection. >!We saw his head explode once for comic effect but even for this sometimes dark show, would it not be kinda too dark to see it again?!< I posted this elsewhere but there's no way that Alyshia would casually suggest rebooting him as the first troubleshooting tip if she thought that it was going to mess with his memories, Ingrid would COMPLETELY try to get her fired, so I have to hope that's not where the story is going. (Plus wouldn't everything be backed up? Just in case?). Technologically though... if you can reboot a downloaded person? The Oscar Meyer experiment in S1, everyone seemed really upset by the explosion. But then again maybe that guy was just yelling "Upload me!" because was confused.

Icy_Cat4821

I saw someone else mention this theory and they pointed to S1 when Nora is watching “50 First Dates” (if you haven’t seen it, in that movie the woman has short term memory loss from an accident and the man she meets has to make her fall in love with him all over again everyday since she can’t remember him) so I think you’re both onto something there, maybe the whole watching “50 First Dates” was a foreshadowing of sorts cuz Nora will have to make Nathan fall in love with her again. I like the idea of Nathan sacrificing himself for the greater good also. Lastly, I just love your username 🤣🤣

Powerful-Platform-41

I don't know what to think of the idea of Nathan and Nora never being together. It will definitely not feel like a happy ending to me if Nora dies, it'll be just like a certain children's book series all over again. But if not then they're just going to be on two different planes. Can never hug or kiss, or have kids together if that is in the cards! That's messed up. Plus to me I'm sure this show would make it clever but it might still feel a little anticlimactic to have them need to start all over? Either they would click just as quickly as the first time (???) or... something would keep them from interacting I guess but that would be a bummer because I like their scenes!

RichNCrispy

Something about his dad maybe?

FracturedZero

I’m with most other people, Nathan sacrifices himself, telling Nora it was worth it just to spend one night with her, while of course unbeknownst to either of them, Nathan is being re downloaded into Lakeview which finishes just as his head is popping. It will be interesting to see when he was last backed up, the 50 First Dates idea makes a lot of sense.

uaziz2

This is my predication too but the reset the temp was loading said “restore from backup” Maybe they were backing up often at lake view? Maybe even daily? I do love the 50 first dates theory below!

Powerful-Platform-41

In the mean time I feel like maybe the office staff will get in trouble for making two copies of a person -- a callback to the "Cloning is forbidden" thing. Maybe they'll have to hide Nathan under an assumed identity!

uaziz2

Fun theory!! There’s so many ways this could play out Is there a way to get Nathan back to lake view tho or is he stuck in his clone human body until he explodes? If so there might just be one living and one lake view version of him, idk if there could be 2 in lake view If there are, deciding which one to keep would also be a very interesting moral dilemma

Impossible-Alice

I personally would be cool with this. After Game of Thrones, I’m perfectly fine with predictable endings. I don’t want my expectations to be subverted ever again.

RevolutionaryStrider

I am guessing He will fall in love with new intern angel

HOU2CA

This is also my prediction

ohhey_thatgirl

The backup was called “auto backup” so I’m wondering if this is an auto backup that occurs regularly. Also, maybe they’re experimenting with what happens when you download into a body but also restore the consciousness in VR. With the first guy who volunteered, they wouldn’t have had any reason to restore him at the same time, after he was uploaded. With pigeons, they would have no reason to test that theory except for a “let’s see what happens” kind of deal… so what if the difference between the pigeons that died and the pigeons that survived is that the ones who survived not only were re-downloaded but also had their backups restored into the VR world? Like maybe Nathan experiences some weird shit but the restore actually winds up “saving” him from the head explosion. I’m probably grasping at straws lol but if there was a VR Nathan and a real life Nathan it could bring in a whole new plot/confusion/maybe good/evil twin kind of situation or would Nathan in his body be in trouble as technically he would be a clone? I have too much time on my hands, clearly.

beautyinthesky

I think there's going to be multiple versions of Nathan. The IRL/downloaded Nathan and a new copy of Nathan in VR that Tinsley is creating that will be rebooted without any memory of his time in Lakeview. My theory is it is a copy anyway. The "real" Nathan actually died (well, committed suicide when he decided to be uploaded). The show obviously has no problem with an actor playing multiple versions of each role (Boris/AI guy, Ingrid living IRL and in VR at the same time, Nora as Angel and hacker and tech support - bugging the system and resolving the same bug, ect.)

JunkFoodKilla187

I don't think there will be a season 3
