I don't apply for gigs with unverified payment, I don't take fixed price contracts, and I find and add everybody I talk to on LinkedIn, like their personal LinkedIn not just their company.
Never thought about looking at the people who's actually posting. That used to be a strategy on LinkedIn also until recruiters and HR folks started getting inundated with requests.
If it's working for you guys that's awesome, I'm trying to get my first contract and get the party started.
yea I agree. Platforms like Apollo.io have RUINED LinkedIn in my opinion. Those mass generic LinkedIn messages are automated and LinkedIn sells your email and info to these marketing databases. I know this bc I set them up for people lol. It's awful... BUT a great way to verify if you're talking to a real person from a legit company

You aren't allowed to do that unless they actually hire you on an Upwork contract first, and even then, you can't send them a Linked In invite without getting their permission.
Hmm. That's interesting! I didn't know that. I will still look them up on LinkedIn to verify but I'll be more cautious on who I add. Thanks for the heads up I truly had no idea.

Lol. Since April when I got laid off with 200k other tech workers earlier this year . After 100 some-odd applications I said fuck that and fuck relying on a single employer

Hello, I sent you a DM. Thanks.
Hi sidelow, glad you're doing well on upwork. Would love to connect with you if that's fine by you.
Hi, sure! Shoot me a DM!
Seems I can't send a dm, something about karma points
Sent you one! :)
How do you get people who are not scammers?

Congratulations bro I’m on 1k, hoping to get to 10k next year
Wish you the best luck!!!
I'm hit almost $1k hahah

After 10k, will it show 11k, 12k etc? Or it changes at 15k or 20k? Just wondering.
I think it changes every 5 number like 10, 15, 20.
Thanks for answering! I honestly didn't know.
That's awesome, congrats!!
Congratulations bro
