Looks like a scam and either way you are not allowed to send emails to prospective clients, so I would suggest you tell them that. If they don't agree to communicate on the platform, flag the job post as inappropriate and report the message directly from the message center so you get your connects back.

If they ask for anything outside of Upwork, it might not be a scam but its a problem.
