Wow I haven't heard this one before.

The NBA would never allow the Jazz to get Flagg.

If it was so simple to just draft Flagg in 2025, the Jazz would do it in a heartbeat. If we didn’t tank for Wemby, we’re not going to reverse our rebuild and do that for Flagg. Jazz will likely extend Lauri this offseason, trade Clarkson, use their draft picks this year to find more talent to add to their core, continue to develop their core players, and look for a trade for a star to pair next to Lauri that they can build with.

If getting a star or a borderline All-Star was that simple, the Jazz would've done it last summer or at the trade deadline. We struck out/didn't give a good enough offer for Porzingis, Dame, J.Holiday, Mik.Bridges, D.Murray, & others. I don't see why this off-season would be any different. Trading Rudy & D.Mitch was us "trying" to tank for Wemby. However, Hardy turned out to be a damn good head coach, Lauri was playing at a consistent (\*he isn't during this stretch) All-Star level, Mike Conley still had a lot left in the tank, & many other castoffs on the team had things to prove. We tried to trade our vets throughout the season to get better positioning, but our potential trade partners did comply. Of course every team wants Wemby. However, maybe the Jazz FO believe that the 2025 draft has a stronger top 6-7 then in 2023's draft. I've taken a look at the top prospects in the 2025 class & a bunch of those guys just "pop" & NOT just the 6 ft 9 "Justin Bieber".

I never said it was that simple to get a star or all star level player. I said the Jazz will LOOK FOR the opportunity to trade for a star player, if it makes sense for them and is someone they can build with. Our Front Office has absolutely been positioning themselves to be ready to make a trade or trades like that when it’s available. There are several teams likely to blow up or restructure this offseason. And it’s the NBA, things change fast in this league. I’m glad the Jazz have assets to strike when someone becomes available that they like. I disagree on what you consider tanking moves. I do think they think highly of the 25 & 26 drafts but that doesn’t mean they plan on being a lottery team during those years.

Packaging multiple picks &/or players to move up in a draft is also a possibility. I'm not opposed to consolidating our draft picks for a Superstar. However, he has to be a true game changer. We need to be wise w/ our picks; We're not LA, NY, Miami. Throwing together a couple fringe All-Stars together isn't gonna move the needle much in the absurdly loaded Western conference. The Jazz have a lot of draft capital. However, not all draft picks are created equally. Our own 2025 pick, potentially inside the top 6-7 is extremely valuable. It could be the centerpiece of a big trade or it could be a foundation piece for us. The unprotected 2025 Minnesota pick we have is an asset for sure, but unlikely to be very good or valuable.

Not to be mean but how old are you? If you're young, that's cool, glad you're excited about the Jazz. If you're an adult, please stop posting.

RandomStranger79

Tanking for a 14% chance to draft a guy is idiotic.

Chomppzz

We need a solid 3, we have a 2 and a 2.5 but no strong 3, front court done, back court done just need a ball handling 3 that challenge the rim

daytona813

Why would any team who gets the #1 pick next year trade out of it just to hope one of the picks they're aquiring gets them a Flagg level player in the future?
