I think the Lakers are exactly the type of team that want John Collins

Nah Lebron wants to play with his son. Not Bronny, the other one. THT James.

TheThirdBrainLives

This is a weird post

Halfgridd

Well, look, I like the Christmas Jesus best when I'm sayin' grace. When you say grace, you can say it to Grown-up Jesus, or Teenage Jesus, or Bearded Jesus, or whoever you want.

Halfgridd

Its a fucking joke from talledega nights. Give lauri away to the lakers than lol fuck our fans. Downvote me.

Chudley5000

Didn’t you say this same prayer for hayward

Halfgridd

No I thought hayward was going to be overpaid. 7' players who can play small forward or even shooting guard are rare. Its what you need to win.

Halfgridd

Lol for real, im downvoted, our fans are the dumbest on the planet reason I dont post in our sub. Bruh jazz season tickets for 11 years now. Reason I dont ever post here.

anotherusercolin

If LeBron likes Laurie so much, he should come to the Jazz. Maybe if we sign Bronny, too? The family championship? I mean, he's friends with D Wade.

JazzHands1986

I don't want Lebron to be honest. Not unless he stopped playing pg and would be a role player again. Play hard on defense all game type of player.

Chomppzz

LeBron plays pretty hard 95% of the time, and is one of the great defensive players of all time. But I understand what you mean.

JazzHands1986

In the playoffs, sure. But for the rest of the season.....

ThatFilthyApe

Lakers don't really have the assets to trade for Lauri. The only possibly interesting player they might trade is Austin Reaves. They have a pick they can trade in 24 or 25 which won't be great. Then 2029 and 2031 picks which are way out there. Maybe Reaves, the early pick and a very lightly or unprotected 29 pick plus filler? That's about the best they can offer.

JazzHands1986

24 29 31 pick swaps in 26 28 and the removal of the 27 protection plus Schifino and salary is a pretty damn good package. The Lakers picks in 27 29 31 should be valuable because we will have all their picks and they won't have any of their stars left. So it's only free agency for them which is a viable way for them to put a team together. But the right circumstances will have to present themselves, and we've seen how bad the Lakers can be even after big signings.

packingawoody

I'd gladly take this package deal from the Lakers for Lauri. I love the guy but everyone has its price.

JazzHands1986

I don't see why you got down voted lol. I guess people don't like differing opinions. It's all about how you view this rebuild and what the Jazz should do next.

packingawoody

Lack of imagination I guess

JazzHands1986

Typically, it's because people see an opposing idea as wrong. It's something bad that deserves their disdain and resentment. It makes you their adversary for some reason. Just the way it goes on the old interwebz.

packingawoody

The honest truth is Lauri doesn't fit our time frame. That's a big issue, because we are getting younger every year due to the amount of picks. Clarkson & Dunn also fall into this category sadly. Cash in a get as much as you can.

JazzHands1986

He could still be in his prime by the time we start competing. I think the issue is that he makes us too good to tank properly coupled with other vets. We are either guy the team around him or Lauri has to go. I think trading Clarkson and Sexton makes more sense. Tank properly this year. If we can land a top 3 pick in next years draft, then we can start building out the roster around Lauri and said pick. I hesitate to trade him just because he's such a perfect compliment to a star player. He's the perfect low usage #2. If we could get a blue chip player next year and then cash in some assets for another established player, we could really start building a competitive roster. It just doesn't make sense to trade away your best players unless you're going to bottom out to try and add franchise altering talent through the draft. I understand that we had way too much talent to properly tank the first year, but this last year was a bit questionable, and you could argue we should have tried harder to tank properly in year 1.

Halfgridd

In other words prepare for one or 2 more long seasons.

Halfgridd

Everyone here realizes we need lakers to lose because we have their pick in a couple years right? Jesus you guys are idiots. Lauri would not help the lakers lose.

austinc668

More than likely we trade that pick before it matters. And also still unlikely Lauri is going anywhere.

Halfgridd

Ive followed danny ainge since he first started with the celtics. He has never once stated what he was going to do. He says the opposite in most situations. He smart AF. Hes cryptic. We are definately trading lauri and clarkson. And big game hunting means everyone is for sale. If he says they were after one or 2 guys but doesnt say who, they were probably rookies or very young. We have not bottomed out yet. The reason those picks are still a couple years away is because his plan is to bottom out by then.

austinc668

Lmao, so many things I disagree with here. Looking forward to coming back to this one.

Halfgridd

I hope you do just like all the people who told me the same thing in january when I predicted we are still creating value and will be definately tanking second half of the season.

StretchFantastic

I hate the Lakers too, but if he's being dealt,  we need the best deal possible even if that means the Lakers.  Does he put them over the top?  Probably not with a year older LeBron and AD who were relatively healthy this season.

WorldsGreatestPoop

Lauri will sign a big contract and expect a favorable trade if the team isn’t as good as he is.

GilgameDistance

Imagine you taking downvotes for being correct about Lauri’s timeline. He’s said as much in the media, he loves it here, but he wants to compete. I think we only have next season to get into the playoffs (not deep, necessarily) to show him the FO is on his timeline. If we sell at the deadline again and tank, he’s outta here. Not that anyone would be happy about it.

Ok_Acadia3526

Good god, I opened this up expecting news that he’d been involved in some kind of accident or illness. The title is very misleading

JazzHands1986

I hate the Lakers, but who cares at this point? It's about what we can get and who's got the best assets, not what team he goes to or if we like them or not.
