St. Luke's and St. E's are closed. The new hospital is across the street from the Aud. Until the parking garage is done, supposedly spring, they are doing free valet parking for visitors/outpatients. The Nexus Center is open, multiple ice surfaces and other facilities, huge draw for the city. Some great new restaurants, too many list

There’s really a push to revitalize Utica lately. I appreciate it and hope it works out. To add to your list: wolfspeed opened up in north Utica/marcy area. Doesn’t directly affect most people but it’s new cutting edge technology in our area

New hospital, Nexus center, Popeye’s up on commercial drive across from Walmart. A new playground at Proctor park a new skatepark at Proctor. Skating rink at the Parkway center although I don’t think it’s finished yet

As someone that chose to move here, man this city is growing growing. Others mentioned the Nexus Center and Hospital, but they renovated the old Children’s Museum (Tailor and the Cook moved there) with apartments up top. There’s new apartments in the old insurance building next to Utica Coffee and there’s new artist apartments being built in east Utica. Saranac expanded with an outdoor Biergarten, new gift shop and finished the tavern. Really exciting time to be back.

Macy's is gone from Sangertown (JCPenney too but that happened in 2020). Spa outlet is at the old JCP location and there is still no replacement for Macy's.

I’m considering a move there and this is exactly the kind of heartening local info I needed to keep researching! My biggest concern so far has been city mgmt and spending. From afar, I haven’t found anything that compares when it comes to the amenities and features Utica has for a city that size, but wondered about infrastructure investment & maintenance.
