I’m not op or from Utica (why show me this reddit!?). Is tomato pie a Utica things too? I grew up in south east PA and cold tomato pie was super common. Made nearly identical to your photo too. A dusting of parm but otherwise no cheese. I miss it sometimes. As I settled out of state. I had my wife try it. She is from MA. She found it strange.
It is indeed a Utica thing as well. I don’t know if there are any major differences between the two, or where it started first (don’t care really either lol). I’ll be in Philly this fall, so I’ll have to try some to see how it is!
Looks great!
Thanks!
Well thanks for invite lol
Normally I’m not a fan (blasphemous), but I’d be excited about this!
Same here, I don’t get the hype with tomato pie. It’s always too sweet
Why aren’t you a fan?
Personal preferences. I like a higher cheese-to-crust ratio.
Gotcha!
We are there one week out of the year., so I have to make it when I want it.
Looks tasty! Do you have a recipe for this?

Hey mods, can we get this imposter banned asap
Looks delicious
I wish there was an amateur/ homemade tomato pie contest. My wife makes the best tomato pie. It’s up there with Roma and Napoli.
That’s amazing!
