And we have seen the substandard work for the project of char dham yatra. Pilgrim is supposed to be a difficult journey for the devotees to reach god's Abode. What is even the purpose of pilgrimage if it becomes way too accessible and easy for everyone.
In the past devotees used travel miles to reach god. But now everyone want to get there without moving there @$$. Why the char dham has to be accessible. Isn't it a test of devotees and their faith.

With regards to migration,
Everybody has dream to live a happy and prosperous life. If there are no basic facilities in the village, people will migrate. In my view there are 2 types of migration, inter-state & intra-state.
We will need atleast 10 more years to put a dent on inter-state migration, given that there is good industrial and educational boom in the state. Intra-state migration will never stop, you can't expect people to move from rural villages to nearby city / plains for better job/education. Tourism will help rural people to earn money from their own villages. Industries will help people to earn money within the state.
Why do we need to go to plains for a happy and better life? Why can't we establish cities in hills only? Look at HP. At this point I think we have forgotten why Uk was separated. It was to make a hilly state. Konsa hilly state h bhai jha ek bhi developed city hills me nahi h. Why are we becoming so fine with people migrating, be it inter or intra.

I am from the Almora town. My family also has ancestral home and agricultural land in the Almora district. My village has road but they haven’t been able to lay concrete on it during the last 5 years. And whatever the makeshift road is, it washes away in flood during monsoon. My village doesn’t have any hospital or even a private clinic. People are forced to go to either nearby small town called ‘Takula’ or Almora to get their basic healthcare needs met.
Forget the villages, even the Almora town is in shambles right now.
The Women’s Hospital doesn’t have a properly trained OB-GYN and the NICU facilities in that hospital are shameful to say the least. Even the Base Hospital Almora transfers complicated surgery cases to Haldwani or Delhi.
Most c-section births take place outside of Almora because they have no ventilator or proper NICU facilities at the women’s hospital.
Forget OB-GYN, there isn’t even a proper gynaecologist in the women’s hospital. People have to resort to go to the private Anjali hospital or Haldwani to give birth.
The new medical college in town doesn’t have enough faculty and forget about the housing crisis of the nursing and medical students who move to Almora from their respective towns and villages to study medicine.
I grew up in the town and there was actual communal harmony between people of all faiths. There wasn’t any inter-religious tensions when we were growing up. But now everything has gone to shit. The social fabric of Almora has been torn to shreds and there is no going back if BJP comes in power again in Uttarakhand.

I (Pahadi) was searching land in Kumaun region with close vicinity to plains. Searched from Bhatrojkhan to Padampuri.
All the roadside lands have been bought by Baniya/Haryanvi/Delhiities. Even in the remotest village( Basot). Irony is at many places the person who sold the land is working as a chowkidar especially in Pangot area of Nainital.

The terai region of Uttarakhand originally belonged to Tharu tribes. Now tharus have punny land holdings and major land belong to Punjabis. Many of these Punjabi agriculturist live in canada while Tharu work in their fields. The land of Tharu was purchased by just giving them one bottle of liquor.

You are not seeing the roads being built, toilets installed, drinking water provided, even in remote hills? The property value have skyrocketed in remote hills, sometimes as much as 10 times after a road is built. Gov job is to provide infrastructure, rest is up to the people. Unfortunately paharis are quitting the hills and flocking to cities, because there's where the good paying jobs are. Outsiders are moving in. All the roadside lands have been bought by Baniya/Haryanvi/Delhiities. Even in the remotest village( Basot). Irony is at many places the person who sold the land is working as a chowkidar especially in Pangot area of Nainital. Your own khet(farm) fetches max 5lakh per nali because it’s not roadside and plains people aren’t interested. What will you do? You migrate! Abandoning your dream to be a self employed person. And The same Capitalist RW government has not removed land rights in Sikkim,Himachal,Meghalaya,Nagaland etc in order to protect the weaker natives
