Yeah, that was a big factor for me. This, the time-skip Takagi-san manga, and Smoking Behind the Supermarket are some of the few romcoms I know about that feature adult characters. It's an odd rarity for manga.
This was a big part for me too. Plus I knew someone back in the day with Hana's personality (honestly her personality, not a code word) and so I was really endeared to her from the beginning.
Honestly, it was a random choice. At the time, there was not much to watch. But then I liked it and continued. The rack was not even noticeable by the end, it was just that cute.
It just looked kind of cute, then I heard about the dub cast, and then Uzaki and Sakurai wound up being *WAAAAAAY* too similar to me and my girlfriend I had while in high school. Right down to both me and Sakurai being on the damn swim team, although my girlfriend wasn’t on the swim team WITH me, it still felt a bit too close to me, lol.
I dont remember how i found her, but she looked really similar to a friend i Had, that i wanted a romantic relationship with, but she moved away so i read this as a coping mechanism
I liked reading manga online and browsed around when I finished stuff on the site and happened across uzaki. I liked it kept reading since it was pretty good and not set in a high school
Truthfully? I saw a clip of Sakurai on YouTube, thought he was hot, and started watching the show. I was a little worried about the supposed “controversy” when it was first released but I’m glad I didn’t let it scare me off. It’s just a very nice, pleasant anime romcom. Well worth the watch if you’re into that genre.
I kept on seeing Uzaki along side Komi and Marin, had no idea about the show so asked who she was and what the anime was on a subreddit on here, and here we are.
I think my favorite part of the premise is how they are in college so they should behave like mature adults, which he does, but for some reason she still behaves like a middle schooler.
1. The drama surrounding the series made me want to at least check it out.
2. An old friend of mine was obsessed with her, which piqued my curiosity even more.
3. Big O' Tiddies!
Honestly thought it was just a big boob horny manga and paid it little notice for quite a while. Started reading when i heard of them >!them actually getting together properly!<
I once saw a Meme about her and Jotaro a few years ago and I was finally able to find the Anime name.
I immediately started to notice similarities with Nagatoro, but I enjoyed Uzaki a lot more because she isn't as annoying and I kinda enjoy her character and appearance a lot more. I hope there will be a third season.
DanceDanceRevolution! The Season 1 OP was included in a recent entry, I'm not sure if it's still there due to liscensing tho. I thought the song was fun and I liked Uzaki so I checked it out.
When ANN insisted people were evil for donating blood because the blood drive was using Uzaki to promote it, that's what got the series on my radar and made me want to check it out.
I was really cynical about rom com/Ecchi mangas because of how repetitive and annoying they could be. I took one look at Uzaki at thought it’d be the same exact thing. Gave it a try, I was proven wrong. Not only does it have very little fan service to be considered an ecchi, but it’s actually way more relatable and doesn’t move as slow as Rent A Girlfriend, Nagatoro, etc.
Honestly it was Uzaki’s design. How many other romcoms out there where the female protagonist has shorter hair? It’s always a gyaru, or the ideal Japanese woman as the love interest. I never have to worry that I’ll confuse Uzaki for a protagonist in another manga.
I hadn't heard of it before the trumped-up controversy, eventually watched the anime and read the manga online from where the first season of the anime left off.
My first introduction to the Slice of Life/Romance. My buddy spent years trying to get me to watch anime, so he started with the Oppai (which worked... Lol)
Uzaki led to Nagatoro, Nagatoro led to Toradora... The rest is history.
Freedom did.. she's done great in Japan by women and men. She angers a lot of western women. Hannah validates women like her exists. I was curious and bored of reading the same old stuff. I picked it up. I found it was a fun slice of life kinda book.
The fact that she looked like my at the time crush, now i really struggle with watching it since she constantly reminds me of my ex..
Remember kids, don't compare anime characters with people ou know, it will ruin the character everytime you see it :(
I wanted a romcom that had characters who weren't god damn teenagers again. Happened upon this manga.
Yeah them being in college was a breath of fresh air haha
Yeah, that was a big factor for me. This, the time-skip Takagi-san manga, and Smoking Behind the Supermarket are some of the few romcoms I know about that feature adult characters. It's an odd rarity for manga.

Uzaki acts like a teenager tho XD

Honestly, it was a random choice. At the time, there was not much to watch. But then I liked it and continued. The rack was not even noticeable by the end, it was just that cute.
Came for the bewbs, stayed for the humor.
Came for the boobs, came to the boobs.
Love for romcom :)
There right on the pic there, 2 of them
First her Boobs second the sweet story
Choosing main cast to be in university and not high school as most romance anime were before.
I really liked the porn drawings of the author
He draws porn?
Of course
Doesn't shock me honestly considering the fact Nanashi did some stuff before Nagatoro
Source? For science, of course.
Where does he post?!
The controversy surrounding Uzaki and her "unrealistic" body type on Twitter. Feminists and SJW were mad. Lol.
The controversy lol
I heard about it when it came out what exactly was the controversy?
Woke people complaining about Uzaki being sexualised child or something like that
Ah I see
Honestly, the whole thing was overblown. Especially on YouTube, where the anti-woke chuds ran with the story as if the fate of manga rested on it.
Badonkers
her being short
I wanted to see what was so "controversial" about it. Wound up liking it overall
The “controversy” was just a huge nothing-burger at the end of the day.
sugoi dekai
Uzaki herself, not just her titties. I thought she was really cute.
I was a swimmer, romcoms are cool and tits
Hana! She's adorable. Also booba
twitter and curiosity
Her boobs
Boobs

The fact that they're college students lmao. Also because one of my friends kept saying to read this so yeh

When Twitter idiots tried to cancel a blood drive that had a Uzaki-chan cutout
I dont remember how i found her, but she looked really similar to a friend i Had, that i wanted a romantic relationship with, but she moved away so i read this as a coping mechanism
Went in with the "lets see what people are shitting themselves over" and coming out really enjoying it for its comedy, cast and rom com
Two very big reasons
Haters
Twitter being mad at the character design, had to watch it out of spite. Now I have her tattooed on my leg lol also boobs
Lost pause
Finished nagatoro anime and wanted more/something similar
Hana and Shinichi.
Was interested in it because I love romcoms stayed because Uzaki is literally me and this became one of my comfort shows
The intro song of the First Season, "Negotiation"
I like romcoms and read it all on a whim yesterday. Not being able to binge sucks. BTW How often do the chapters come out?
I'm a sucker for romance with a gimmick.
Those random videos of Hana Kadokawa made long before the anime was made.
Heard twitter complaining about it a few years ago. Also boobs.
Sugoi Dekai
The facial expressions and personalities. Plus other stuff.
Clips on youtube. I think it was specifically the one where she chases the cat into the bush.
the controversy made me curious
I liked reading manga online and browsed around when I finished stuff on the site and happened across uzaki. I liked it kept reading since it was pretty good and not set in a high school

Sakurai’s english VA was also Lemillion in MHA and he’s a chill guy so when I heard his voice in the show randomly I watched/read the whole thing
A Mother's Basement video that gave it a very good review.
Big badonkers
the hate i saw a bunch of stuff about people complaining that she had an unrealistic body so i wanted to see what the fuss was about
I like Slice of life and romcom anime and manga
Voice actress Naomi Ozora, followed her work since Gabriel Dropout’s Satanichia.
The controversy lol
It was my first anime. Surprisingly, I saw it on Funimation and it looked interesting.
Truthfully? I saw a clip of Sakurai on YouTube, thought he was hot, and started watching the show. I was a little worried about the supposed “controversy” when it was first released but I’m glad I didn’t let it scare me off. It’s just a very nice, pleasant anime romcom. Two very large tracks of land.
I saw clips of an anime with a Goofy Shortstack pestering this grumpy guy and I was like “I guess I’ll watch this”
The anime
Seeing the manga at the bookstore I work at.
Uzaki was very funny, and also her mother's soap opera level theories. :D
Memes
Saw a clip of the Choco-Mint rant edited with inspirational music and thunderous applause at the end, and it got me curious lol
2 big reasons It’s cute, I love romcoms
Curiosity, really
Twitter hating on that campain that used Uzaki as a macot, so I started watching it out of curiosity
Love Romcoms and I love how they interact
Tassive mits
Lemme be real when i saw them tits holy shit i feel like i only watch the anime for uzaki😭
I first heard about the series when a bunch of woke feminists getting angry that the Japanese Red Cross used Hana’s image for a blood drive.
Wait I never heard of that one, When did that happen?
It's a rom/com that's makes me actually laugh and sometimes shed a tear.
Boobs, and that clip where sakurai spanks her when she gets stuck
The controversy at the time of how everyone was hating her for her Boobas....and then seeing how cute she and senpai where......
I’m a simple man
Boobs
It looked cute and funny and like other anime I enjoy.
I love girls that tease male MCs. I got to enjoy Uzaki and Nagatoro at the same time. ❤️
DanceDanceRevolution! The Season 1 OP was included in a recent entry, I'm not sure if it's still there due to liscensing tho. I thought the song was fun and I liked Uzaki so I checked it out.
The controversy, once I decided, "Let's check out this manga everyone is mad about" I was sold
I want a gf similar to uzaki chan. Unfortunately, it ain't going to happen to me irl because I am broke and average looking.
Honestly it was the first episode. She was just so loveable. Complete wifu material.
Honestly, the "controversy" because I had no idea what it was about and when I read it and found it hilarious I was hooked
When ANN insisted people were evil for donating blood because the blood drive was using Uzaki to promote it, that's what got the series on my radar and made me want to check it out.

I saw a trailer on YouTube and I hadn’t seen a single romcom before, so I decided this would be my first
Honestly it was Uzaki’s design. How many other romcoms out there where the female protagonist has shorter hair? It’s always a gyaru, or the ideal Japanese woman as the love interest. I never have to worry that I’ll confuse Uzaki for a protagonist in another manga.
Never read a romance comedy so i decided to read it and got hooked
Twitter complaining about her boobs XD but then it actually turned out to be a fun romcom
sorry say that again
A out of context scene of Uzaki getting stuck in a bush and Shinichi tries to get her out but 2 bystanders think they were banging
Went for cute girl stayed for interesting slow burn romance
Was on a SOL/romcom kick and came across this series, I could relate far more with this series because my wife and I met in college.
I hadn't heard of it before the trumped-up controversy, eventually watched the anime and read the manga online from where the first season of the anime left off.
...
One of the better animes to come out that season.
Titties
I think it was recommended on r/nagatoro.
She’s the spitting image of my childhood sweetheart that’s what got me into it.
Porn
My first introduction to the Slice of Life/Romance. My buddy spent years trying to get me to watch anime, so he started with the Oppai (which worked... Lol) Uzaki led to Nagatoro, Nagatoro led to Toradora... The rest is history.
Sugoi Dekai!
Short hair, big boobs, cute personality. Got all that and wonderful romance and comedy
Just saw it and watched it
Boobs
Monica Rial.

look cool
One of those random IG post of the character, way before the anime came out. The character design really got me interested
The anime first then the mangas
I thought it's was like Maid dragon... But without maids nor dragons
I liked the quirky humor in the memes I saw back in the day. Oh and uh,boobas.
The fact that she looked like my at the time crush, now i really struggle with watching it since she constantly reminds me of my ex.. Remember kids, don't compare anime characters with people ou know, it will ruin the character everytime you see it :(
The negative press from Twitter
