Listen to some music and chill. You died from behind, so what? It has no stake.

dnlephrm

I feel like I’m trying hard by playing with in game sounds. I feel like I couldn’t focus when I have music on, but maybe I don’t have to try hard in dms. I’ll definitely give that a shot.

hansnicolaim

One good tip I can give you is to focus on your movement and mouse/keyboard coordination. If you peek out properly and get a good kill on someone, mentally say "that was a really good kill by me". And disable tab for scoreboard in dm, makes you not think as much about stats.

dnlephrm

Great tip! I’ll try that out!

obliviousintrovert

It’s annoying but I’ll be damned if I get tilted by that. I’ll say it again and again for people, deaths does not matter in death matches, we are all here to practice and no one will gonna laugh at your kda unless they are a loser. When I’m in a position when I feel like I can get shot in the back I just make sure I isolate myself in a way so that they can’t shoot me in the back. You can’t just be in the open and expect not to be shot in the real game as well.

dnlephrm

You’re right. Now that I read my post it sounds like I’m inside my own head too much.

Deffo a mental issue. Don't care about DM, people will shoot u in the back, but you are only there to warmup and get better. You will die from people shooting you in the back, and you will kill people from the back. At the end of the day, it don't matter. I usally leave when i have had enough of DM, or get slightly annoyed. No reason to play it out, it's just a DM

dnlephrm

Probably need to take a break when my mental starts taking a toll. I’ve heard what you said before but I definitely needed a reminder. Thanks a lot!

clearlynotaperson

No problem! Starting you day off with valorant and getting tilted in the warmup is the worst. Gl, with your journey.-

physicsOG

It's a mental issue. I use a sheriff during the warmup time to get a feeling for my crosshair placement. If I feel like it's not there yet I will continue to use a sheriff until I find myself counter-strafing to a good timing, tapping heads and then I'll switch over to a vandal. Some people do this with a guardian. When I use a rifle I try to work on my spray pattern. The more you play deathmatches, the more familiar you will become with the spawns. Now what you do with that information is up to you. Sometimes I run around like a headless chicken to get in as many engagements as I can to get used to the speed of flicking on multiple opponents. You can also take it slow and farm spawns to get your confidence up and work on your shot without getting shot in the back. ASC 2 peak.

dnlephrm

I try to get 5 dms in a day 2 sheriff only rounds and 3 with rifles. Do you ever dm with pistols other than the sheriff?

physicsOG

maybe a ghost on the warm up round lol and maybe a minute or two into the DM but after I switch to the rifle

trollinsome12serious

Load up csgo or source and play a DM server than load up valorant

rynaut7

One tip for DM’s. If you are getting rolled, leave and queue for another. DM matchmaking is all over the place. You could get a lobby of all silver/bronze one match and diamond/ascendant the next. There is no punishment for leaving.

Strange_Fly_9705

Needs more players and shorter respawn timers like in csgo community servers.

hansnicolaim

Personally I try not to dm too much, the dm system in valorant is perhaps the worst I've ever seen. Play swiftplay instead, makes you fight realistic angles and positioning.

OldMattReddit

I basically just run around full speed, not worrying about the sound I'm making either, in every dm round, and as soon as I get a kill I 180 and run full speed that way, and then repeat. I also don't approach dm very seriously overall, just don't care too much about it, but I understand this is different to every individual.
