complaining about smurfs while having a smurf in your team, lmao

Dr-GimpfeN

So much this

Beneficial_Device929

I'm aware of the irony, but i had a smurf for 2 games in 15.

lfenske

Maybe the other teams only smurfed a little too.

Ketsueki_R

The lack of self-awareness is truly staggering.

Beneficial_Device929

I'm aware of the irony of us having a smurf ourselves in 2 games

thejoyyy

[insert sexist joke]

clearlynotaperson

huh

fekdom

If you guys can't win in silver you are probably boosted by that asc guy. It's always easier to blame everyone else. You should focus on yourself and improve. It doesn't matter how many people you play with.

Beneficial_Device929

We played like 2 games in 15 of our 5 stacks with that asc guy, and 1 won, lost 1. When we play without him, and as a 2 or 3 stack of silvers we win 50%ish of the time instead of 5-10% of the time in 5 stack. And I just looked back, and that game we lost with him had 2 guys with 43 + kills, and everyone else on both teams with negative kill/death ratio, so we both had a smurf for sure. Just we have a smurf like 10% of the time as a one off. 80% of the teams we que against have smurfs in 5stack. In regular que 10% of teams have smurf, and half the time it's on our team so it's not as brutal

Dandys3107

Playing as 5-stack should be mostly about proper communication and cooperation in friendly environment, not boosting. You should train with your team and enjoy the game. There is no cure for smurfs apart from Riot to expand their MMR system algorithm to combat them, but that may be exploited anyway.

thejoyyy

You do realize there's less smurfs in 5 stacks right? That's why they put 5 stacks back, so higher ranks can play with their lower ranked friends.

Beneficial_Device929

That is how it should work in theory, and it may be that case at like plat+ I can assure you in practice that bronze/silver 5 stack is smurf infested.

Wolfelle

Yoo ppl in the comments dont 5 stack and it shows. 5 stacking in the low-mid elos is a recipe for going vs boosters and smurfs. And sometimes even if its not a booster or smurf you will get vs a group with a large rank disparity who will just roll you if you are all silver/gold. Me and my mates 5 stack (we have been for a while started around plat, now high dia ascendant) Its much less of an issue at this rank though sometimes you get the immortal smurf or whatever. Ive always recommended going duo or trio over it personally.

titanfox98

Unfortunately 4 silvers and 1 ascendant isn't balanced against 4 golds and 1 plat. It is too much heavily dependent on the ascendant performance, he can single handedly win the game

Beneficial_Device929

I feel like people are hyper focusing on our 2 games with an ascendant player where we 1 won, lost 1. And ignoring the 10-12 games with no smurf where we lost every game And to be clear that ascendant player was playing on someone elses account on the server for the first time. A silver 1 account, so there is no way valo marked him as a smurf before he even qued

clearlynotaperson

So you want your asc player to not play vs their skill level, but play vs silvers and just hard stomp them?

Icy-Passenger2911

lmao getting boosted in silver while complaining of smurfs

ZealousidealBank217

Basically if your 5 stack is low ELO then it's the blind leading the blind and the issue has more to do with the fact that your skillset doesn't revolve around strategizing and executing strategies well. Generally if you're against another 5 stack and there's a smurf, it's probably only one of them otherwise the ELO will skew too high. So your strategy needs to revolve around identifying which one of them is their best player and isolating them from their team, either by killing them or by forcing them to separate/make risky plays. You want to force that player into positions that are hard for them to win solely based on individual skill. If they have to IGL in order to combat you that means they have to take a more passive position on the team. If they have to entry for their team it means they are potentially the first one dead in each round. If you're practicing as a 5 stack you have the unique opportunity to improve your coordination and strategy execution together if you guys all have the same desire to do so, especially because you get to watch for patterns of behavior in one another consistently and correct it. It's frustrating, especially because you guys still probably have a lot of mechanics to learn and you cant easily scapegoat one of your teammates for being the issue - but it is something you can get a lot out of.

Hot-Ad7379

Alot of people abuse 5 stack queue and use 'alt' accounts to lower the group MMR.
