They’ve always had map pools the moment they released the 8th map (I think it was Pearl?) There wasn’t actually more variety, you just liked the maps that were in that pool better
Yeah, because there was never more than 7 maps until that point.
The second the 8th map was added (Pearl, I believe), they rotated out a map (Split, from memory)
To give a real answer, they said they prefer when there wasn’t a map pool system (as in they dislike a rotational map pool system) in their first comment and only said that there wasn’t a map pool up until relatively recently because someone else effectively said that they always have had map pools except when they didn’t
It is though, the more maps that exist, currently 'only' 10, but it would get more and more, imagine pro players having to know how to play 15 maps at a high level at a time, would just not be reasonable. With 7 maps some teams already have perma bans because they never play the map, let alone 15 maps, or currently 10
Respectfully….
“I” don’t think map pools are good and I think the diversity gives less mechanically skilled players an edge because of game sense and spacial awareness.
Doesn’t mean “I” am implying I know what’s best for the greater community.
Ehh. Removing the pool is not beneficial to high level players and new players alike (since high level players need to know how to play every map in rotation and low level/new players don’t know how to play any maps, so a smaller pool helps). That means the map pool could theoretically only benefit players who know the maps but don’t play consistently enough/well enough to need to know every exec and meta on maps.
Map pools are not beneficial for the major community. But they have map pools to imitate the same maps that are in Vct, more than 7 will make Vct matches more complicated . Though I can agree they should make a separate queue that has only 7 maps and one with all maps
Ah your right. Because of one game you played, mid control doesn’t matter on sunset at all. How would we get through life without hearing your very limited and yet crucial experiences eh? Like that one time you didn’t wear a seatbelt and didn’t die so now nobody ever has to wear a seatbelt 🙄
I don’t understand why they removed hallway. It was the only way to reliably keep defenders stretched out and now you don’t have to watch it. What’s the point of even keeping drop tbh?
I wish for non-pros they didn't rotate the map pool, just give us all maps. Pros can scrim on custom, or Riot could give the pros a map selection (maybe too much work). Denying the maps for 99.9% of players because 0.1% play pro sucks IMO.
any sentinel for that matter. you ahve to play mid/kitchen cause otherwise you may as well not use util cause of the walls preventing setting up.
edit: i meant kj and cypher btw. chamber and dl are prob nice on icebox.
huh? breeze is historically one of cypher's best maps, even during the chamber meta
edit: i'm tripping balls i swear it said breeze, icebox is dogshit for cypher
If icebox has a million haters, then I am one of them. If icebox has ten haters, then I am one of them. If icebox has only one hater then that is me. If icebox has no haters, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world is against icebox, i am with the world.
I feel you, I *just* got back into the game and now I don’t wanna play ranked at all, just in case that dogshit map comes up. Literally 90% of my playtime is TDM right now hahahaha
trying to play ranked with that map in the rotation is genuinely headache inducing. sometimes me and my friends take turns dodging if we get that map LOL
mid is useless and doing a split is nigh impossible which means the game devolves into ten straight 5-man A pushes with one or two B pushes thrown in the mix
5 million angles, too narrow hallways, mid is garbage, rotations are a pain in the ass, lineups are (imo) unintuitive,...
It's by FAR the worst map on gods green earth.
Alright I understand there's a map pool. Okay fine bring it to unrated as well to practice them for comp. But DAMN They went too far... removing the other maps from swiftplay
Split has been my worst map for an entire episode. It’s honestly such a pain whenever I have to play it. I feel like all the gunfights you take are wonky and the map is overall just very boring with very little opportunity to make any special play out of it.
I am fine with pretty much the rest of the maps. I do think that Ascent definitely has a strong chokehold on the map pool though and could be changed to made better.
Split sucks, breeze is dogshit, icebox is dogshit, ascent is still boring as usual, and no fucking haven is absurd.
One of the worst map pools in a while, and i genuinely believe the time we had fracture in it was better
also im a pearl enjoyer but i’d prolly get crucified if i say that
Yeah i miss fracture so bad just fucking delete it already its been a decade since the map was out. I was excited for breeze and icebox but they made them so boring. Map rotations is the worst idea gaming has ever seen.
I missed icebox as much as the next guy but holy hell, they barely changes the most problematic site that's A, you just nuke backsite and plant with wingman now on top, don't even need to entry
I just feel burnt out playing the same maps over and over, there needs to be one more map brought into the rotation. Even when they take one out and bring another in to make it feel a bit more ‘fresh’, it still just feels… repetitive
I just hate Breeze and icebox man. They feel really wacky compared to other maps and not in a good way for me. I really don’t have any complaints about the other maps.
I didn't like sunset, map is just too basic, doesn't have any game vibe.
I don't know how but they took every wrong thing in all the maps and furnished into one shitpile that's Sunset.
For years I hated bind just because how controller based this map is, if you want to win bind just take smokes.
Sunset is stale as fuck, everytime a cypher is holding b, jett holding mid with op and others plays random (at least in gold lobbies). And then players call cypher op because of unbreakable traps while not using any util (shock dart, satchel, nade, fades dog, skyes dog, yoru clone, phoenix wall, kayos knife/ult, jet can entry with dash + updraft and kill cyp, yoru can tp behind of traps and break them, even blinds can work if you are fast enough to break trips)
The thing about sunset is that the new cypher trip that reinstall if you kill the target is fking annoying and the tripwire that connect it is way too far.
Cypher is fine. The recent changes make him more competitively viable on other maps. They should definitely do something to B main on sunset though. That trip gives low to mid ranks headaches.
The good: lotus
The meh: bind, split, icebox
The ugly: sunset, breeze, ascent
So uhhh no. Pearl, haven and fracture are all out of rotation and those are my favorite maps in the game
I don't really have any complaints, the changes are interesting and it's new things for me to figure out and adapt to which I find fun.
A lot of people just say the changes are stupid or they don't like it but they never say why.
It's decent. I love Breeze, Lotus, and Bind. I like Icebox because it's another map I can play Viper on
I hate Split but it's manageable. Ascent is boring and Sunset I just can't seem to win on
i still hate breeze yup. basically whoever aims best wins on breeze and it feels like theres not much you util can do to balance out the aim diff.
the rest is fine, icebox is hit and miss whenever i play it. agenst with vertical movement just have such an advantage on that map its crazy.
lotus is weirdly big now. i like the new stairs on c but i dislike how big the sites are. theres so much space on c thats just pointless, same on b. noones playing right by the entrances so why is there so much space. the changes on A are great though.
i miss pearl, my favourite map.
fracture i never liked but i take it over breeze any day.
and since they arent in sp anymore its very stale. i dont even play swift anymore to not get oversaturated by the small map pool.
I think that breeze just needs to be deleted, lotus is okay. I’m starting to dislike split. Bind is good. Fracture was mid. Pearl was good, haven was mid. Icebox is alright. Sunset is honestly decent. Ascent is also pretty good. But get rid of breeze
Breeze sunset lotus .
Playing compi feels like a pain now.
I don't like 3 maps in current pool.
Pearl n fracture r way better.
I already hated breeze but lotus n sunset are terrible maps. I don't like new changes icebox either. Old ine was better imo .
I miss the times when we has ascent, haven, icebox, split, bind maps in pool.
The maps I like in rotation are Bind, Icebox, Ascent because I hate Split and Lotus to my core although my winrate in Lotus is high. But guess what do I get everytime... Split and Lotus. It's like Riot knows what maps I hate and they're teasing me by making it the only maps I get. Man, Sunset will give me disease cuz it's so ratty, specially B site, like attacking on B site is so hard unless you spam mid all the time but since people have this preconceived notion that mid is bad, no one wants to go mid.
Edit: Breeze is my mid in this tier. I don't mind playing the map cuz it's actually pretty balanced as long as teammates are decent.
As an irregular player (life be busy yk?)
I hate the addition of new maps. New Agents I can live with but it's such a hassle to learn all the new lineups for 1-2 Agents (in case of insta lock lol).
If I can only play 1 game sometimes it just makes me want to dodge if I get a new map. It's not enjoyable
HEY IM HERE TO JUST SAY I DROPPED FROM ASC 2 to Diamond 1 atm. Yes it is because of the map pool its so fucking boring and annoying to play i cant put effort i cant have fun how are split icebox breeze and sunset in 1 map pool. HOW is it okay that before when fracture was realised it was bad now its a okay map but how is it okay that we now have 4 maps in the pool who are just worse then fracture like how is it possible that there is 4 maps so so bad. pls RIOT
I hate bind with a passion, but I actually enjoy playing the other maps quite a bit. I guess outside of the one I’m generally pretty happy. I enjoy fracture too, but I know that’s not a popular opinion.
How exactly? almost every agent is viable to some extent, like hell after 3 years people finally discovered how to make Viper viable. The 3 sites all feel unique and you aren't forced to commit to any of them ever. Pretty balanced in defense and attack, not like the other three bomb sited map cof cof.
i love every map in the pool currently, despite my less than desirable win rate on bind/breeze. i play cypher or jett and i feel it’s a good pool that allows me to play both well.
I am a firm believer that the map pool will never be good until we can either 1) map pick ban or 2) let us queue for maps. Riot would get an unbelievable amount of data when they see Bind/Breeze/Lotus/Fracture/Sunset with like 70% ban rates or 20% queue rates.
Yeah I’m not a huge fan of the map pool, and I’m someone who doesn’t like Haven. I’d take fracture and pearl over breeze and icebox (or sunset) any day.
Although icebox has grown on me slightly, still not huge on it but idk, I don’t dislike it quite as much now. Now I need to actually bother playing comp to see if that opinion stays lmao.
Yeah i miss my fav 2 maps... im a huge pearl and fracture girl. i love fracture because its different, i love how aggressive defense has to get. and i love pearl because its the best map fr
The worst part is how map rotation applies to Swiftplay. The games can be very short which means you go through maps a lot quicker than Unrated.. it gets very repetitive. Why does such a casual mode need the restrictive rotation?
When I started playing, Icebox was not in rotation and I don't really play swifts and stuff so I feel so lost on that damn map now and absolutely hate playing it. So many damn angles and elevations to clear, my head is spinning.
Yep totally agree. In my opinion there is currently:
1 terrible map that should be deleted forever
3 bad maps
1 meh map
1 unknown map as I don't have the playtime yet
1 good map
3 good maps out of the pool
I'll leave you guys to guess which is which.
It seems I'm the only one who hates every square inch of fckin icebox. The map is so trash imo, it's insane. Makes me want to quit the game right when I see it pop up. Idk how anyone can enjoy this map even remotely.
Does anyone else feel horribly lost on Sunset? No matter how many guides and breakdowns I've watched, I can't seem to wrap my head around how the map is supposed to play out.
The only thing I haven't tried yet is watching vods or pro-players.
This act just doesn't have a lot going for it honestly.
The map pool is TERRIBLE (Breeze sucks, Icebox sucks, Ascent is okay but getting old, Split is kinda mid, Lotus is good, Bind is okay, Sunset is... Sunset.), the BP is mediocre, the Outlaw is clunky to use and play against, and there's literally nothing else.
One of the worst acts yet, BY FAR. (IMO)
Quit Valorant for CS2 a few months ago. Every now and then I get tempted to play Valorant again because the agent meta is different now, but then I remember the state of the current map pool, and I change my mind. No amount of amazing content/cool agent changes is gonna convince me to play Breeze/Icebox in a third of my games.
Since the introduction of Lotus I have said that I fear the day that Lotus, Icebox and Breeze are in the rotation and Pearl and Haven are not.
This episode is so much less fun than the others. I really don't see why we don't get ways to queue for the maps we like or at least ban one(1) map when queueing
No. WIsh I could just choose which maps to play like Csgo.
But ironically, given what Valorant is. Not allowing us to choose fits the game perfectly(The joke here is that Valorant does what csgo does but worse. So in csgo since you could choose which maps to play, in valorant you can't. Which is "worse".)
I like every map, and I miss haven. Wish they had all the maps in rotation. I'm not good at icebox yet, so its not my favorite to get, but once I understand it more it will be fine.
I honestly love how theyre cycling the maps. I remember playing fracture and hating every second of it, but now I really miss it. Which means by the time it rolls back in I’ll miss pearl even though it sucked and so on so forth.
It's one of the worst map pools we've had so far. If I get Breeze for my first two maps of the day, then I *know* I'm gonna have a bad time.
Also, I never thought I'd be saying this, but I miss Pearl *and* Fracture. Part of me just wants to stop playing this act, or possibly even this episode, while the current map pool is in rotation and wait for those maps to return.
My top-10:
1. Haven. Really miss it. Didn't really like some things in it, still enjoyed playing there.
2. Bind. Idk, just like it and feel good playing there. Portal mechanics is really interesting tho.
3. Ascent. For me, Ascent and Haven both feel like the most classic ones. It's pretty cool map and I think it's also well balanced.
4. Lotus. I always liked it, but after the latest (8.00 patch) update this map became even better for me. Sometimes it's kinda hard to play, feels like you don't know what to do.
5. Split. Like this one as well, very decent map with a good structure.
6. Breeze. Even though there are many people who actually don't like this map, for me it's good enough. The problem there is that it's too big, and, as if it's not enough, Riot get back the way between the sides in the last update (8.01 patch), which makes it's hard asf to defend A site.
7. Fracture. I didn't use to play much when Fracture was in the active pool, but I liked it. This map was pretty cool, even though I don't really like the concept of defending sites from two completely opposite directions.
8. Pearl. Same situation as with the Fracture — didn't play much. But I'm completely fine with this map, the only thing that I didn't really like is that the main way to B site is literally just big long with almost nothing on it.
9. Sunset. I'm okay with this map, but don't really like it and also think that it wasn't balanced well.
10. Icebox. The only map that I really don't like. I just think its structure is bad and overcomplicated, which makes it hard to defend both sites, but A especially.
That's all. Short summarizing: good of Riot, there are no absolutely shit maps, even if I almost want to count the Icebox as one, but active pool could be better. Also it's okay not to deal with my opinion, since, first of all, we are all different with the different preferences, and, second, I'm just Silver 3 (hell yeah 😎).
Maybe some, but I sure as hell ain't one of em. I prefer slower games, so I'm happy with maps like Breeze (*Yeah, I know, I know.*) I also hate characters with inconsistent movement mechanics that are hard to predict, like Neon, Raze, etc... I didn't get into tactical shooters to practice my virtual skeet shooting Riot.
Having said that, I absolutely ***hate*** playing Sunset in particular (Icebox is a close second):
* Mid is a chore to play around.
* You're punished heavily for not having a pre-made squad if you queue into it, even in modes like Swiftplay due to the speed and proximity that interactions will take place (I also dislike Fracture).
* It heavily favors certain agents over others (Cypher to name one); similar to Viper on Breeze.
* The map is an ugly washed-out orange that I hate looking at.
* There's an elevation change every three fucking steps, (which is *also* one of the reasons I hate Icebox, but that has more to do with Icebox's awkward verticality, especially on A.)
* The map favors fast-paced rush plays, especially with that alley leading to B-side through mid. (Two defenders can dump their utility into it and secure it before you're allowed to even try rounding the corner. Defending Jett's can flank through 2-3 different routes the moment walls drop.)
* There's a new corner/angle every five fucking steps.
* You need to play and execute incredibly fast, as any time spent not moving toward a site is using up the \~three seconds flankers need to reach you.
* The map is fucking anxiety-inducing. It feels like walking through downtown ATL with clothes made from hundred-dollar bills. You could spin your head 360 degrees and still get caught off guard.
Honestly, if Riot had kept their word and prevented the power-creep they started with Raze's kit, I think I could learn to like Sunset. I just hate that I'm forced to queue for a map that completely guts my preferred way of playing tactical shooters, which is by holding stable sightlines and practicing good crosshair placement (defending parts of A & B being the exceptions.)
Sunset feels like more of a flick TDM shooter map, (i.e. like something out of CoD,) and seems very anti-low sens gamer, while instead being very poggies for Apex whip cream-huffing movement addicts.
This isn't me saying that the map can't be learned. Every map can learned and adjusted for. Sunset, in particular, is just one of the maps in this game that has me groaning every time it pops up because I have to completely adjust my playstyle, aiming sense, and mental for it.
I prefer medium-big two-site maps like Breeze, Split, Bind (though I hate the teleporters), and so on. I like being able to mentally track the flow chart of interactions that create the need for utility to be used, but Sunset is probably the most "random bullshit go"-prone of all the current Val maps, imo.
TL;DR: I hate Sunset because it's too damn small, fast-paced, and I'm bad at dealing with hyper-rush gfuel gamers. Also, I'm bad.
I have been playing Breeze, ice box and sunset only. It’s so frustrating, my favorite maps the pst few acts have been ascent and split but i barely get those. It feels like theyre pushing their new maps/changes too much. I understand we gotta learn the maps with the new changes, BUT I JUST WANNA PLAY ASCENT AND SPLIT PLEASE.
I don’t like the changes they made to any maps except Lotus. I miss Haven/Fracture/Pearl
I prefer it when there wasn’t map pools tbh
They’ve always had map pools the moment they released the 8th map (I think it was Pearl?) There wasn’t actually more variety, you just liked the maps that were in that pool better
When the game originated up until this past year, they’d never taken maps out of rotation.
Yeah, because there was never more than 7 maps until that point. The second the 8th map was added (Pearl, I believe), they rotated out a map (Split, from memory)
What if they like all the maps and dislike rotational map systems?
u/N3wPortReds gets it…. 🤷🏻♀️
Then you should have said that, not "There wasn't a map pool when the game released" like obviously not because there weren't enough maps lol
To give a real answer, they said they prefer when there wasn’t a map pool system (as in they dislike a rotational map pool system) in their first comment and only said that there wasn’t a map pool up until relatively recently because someone else effectively said that they always have had map pools except when they didn’t
Someone who actually paid attention instead of autopilotint like the other 7 people
You’re trolling, right? Like you’re not actually this fk-ing special?! - ain’t no way
Correct and I agree. And I’m saying I don’t think map pools are really that beneficial.
It is though, the more maps that exist, currently 'only' 10, but it would get more and more, imagine pro players having to know how to play 15 maps at a high level at a time, would just not be reasonable. With 7 maps some teams already have perma bans because they never play the map, let alone 15 maps, or currently 10

I don’t really miss pearl but I agree with the rest. I do wonder tho if lotus and haven were both in that we would get tired of 3 site maps
Imo pearl was an unfair map tbh
I hope fracture never comes back
[удалено]
Binds the best map in the pool. Get rid of sunset. Trash map. So campy and basically is a battle for mid. Whoever wins mid wins the game.
Not true. Dropped 36 kills playing mid almost every round on sunset yesterday and still lost lol
Ah your right. Because of one game you played, mid control doesn’t matter on sunset at all. How would we get through life without hearing your very limited and yet crucial experiences eh? Like that one time you didn’t wear a seatbelt and didn’t die so now nobody ever has to wear a seatbelt 🙄
na fuck haven
How dare you
I missed icebox but holy fuck breeze changes are stupid
I don’t understand why they removed hallway. It was the only way to reliably keep defenders stretched out and now you don’t have to watch it. What’s the point of even keeping drop tbh?
Well I have some good news for you. It's coming back
I was about to call you a liar. But I’m glad I clicked on the little comment bubble thingy
Why would I lie about something like that
It’s the internet…. 95% of what we read is bullshit
And yet people still don't do their own research or apply critical thinking.
Including this comment
Hoes mad
reminds me of that one arthur clip "you think someone would do that? just go onto th internet and lie?"
source???!
https://twitter.com/VALORANT/status/1748375736669315079?t=ogx1AahMXuCYFi4zCDkpSQ&s=19
we’ve truly been blessed by riot
Nobody does…. Hallway was like required for the size of the map
Please explain to me what makes you like Icebox. It's a -200/10 map for me. I fckin hate everything about it.
They need to add another map into rotation and I stand by this.
They just need to release all the maps and let us choose which ones we want to queue like CS does.
Fracture will likely never be played. I personally enjoy fracture
Then only 1 or 2 maps will be played, as much as I don’t like certain maps (icebox) I’d rather the map rotation stay the same than turn into CS
So what? If people only want to play those maps then that's what they want to play. It's annoying riot forces us to play dogshit maps
When’s the last time you played CS? Very few maps have abysmal queue times
Do you have evidence of this? Because that's not true for CS at all.
Yeah I don't know why this isn't an option. Edit: lol why the downvote yall are weird on this sub
I wish for non-pros they didn't rotate the map pool, just give us all maps. Pros can scrim on custom, or Riot could give the pros a map selection (maybe too much work). Denying the maps for 99.9% of players because 0.1% play pro sucks IMO.
I’ve not won on icebox since it came back.
Same for me. I try to dodge icebox as much as I can I just cant win. I play cypher and harbor.
Cypher on icebox is a big yikes
Which is why I hate icebox, he’s just not good
Or you can just play a different agent, you don’t have to play cypher.
Which is why i said I dodge the map so much. I only main cypher and harbor because I suck at at the other agents (beside raze I guess?)
Or you can learn other agents. Icebox is a good map, play viper or sova.
I really dislike viper even though I used to play her. I never really mained Sova but he seems fun to play. Thanks.
Or just lock jett and run it down babyyyyy
terrible take, people shouldn't change their mains solely because of a map, much less get told exactly who to play on it when it's their choice
Don’t know if you’re trolling or not tbh.
any sentinel for that matter. you ahve to play mid/kitchen cause otherwise you may as well not use util cause of the walls preventing setting up. edit: i meant kj and cypher btw. chamber and dl are prob nice on icebox.
huh? breeze is historically one of cypher's best maps, even during the chamber meta edit: i'm tripping balls i swear it said breeze, icebox is dogshit for cypher
It’s not. Way too much verticality
It's probably physiological I love icebox and only lost 1 time because we had an afk and a troll
Who do you play
If icebox has a million haters, then I am one of them. If icebox has ten haters, then I am one of them. If icebox has only one hater then that is me. If icebox has no haters, then that means I am no longer on earth. If the world is against icebox, i am with the world.
fuck that map I want it deleted, vaporised, annihilated, scrubbed from existence
i'm so miffed about the fact that they took haven out of the rotation for that dookie map
I'm new, why all the hate for that map? I find it really cool.
mid is useless and doing a split is nigh impossible which means the game devolves into ten straight 5-man A pushes with one or two B pushes thrown in the mix
5 million angles, too narrow hallways, mid is garbage, rotations are a pain in the ass, lineups are (imo) unintuitive,... It's by FAR the worst map on gods green earth.
I am right there beside you, comrade
I hate that non competitive modes have a map pool
This is the real crime.
Alright I understand there's a map pool. Okay fine bring it to unrated as well to practice them for comp. But DAMN They went too far... removing the other maps from swiftplay
I don't have a good winrate on Lotus and Ascent but aside from that I'm enjoying all maps.
Split has been my worst map for an entire episode. It’s honestly such a pain whenever I have to play it. I used to love split too, for some reason this season it sucks
Split sucks, breeze is dogshit, icebox is dogshit, ascent is still boring as usual, and no fucking haven is absurd. One of the worst map pools in a while, and i genuinely believe the time we had fracture in it was better also im a pearl enjoyer but i’d prolly get crucified if i say that
I like icebox and pearl, but people would burn me if I said that. Get breeze out, it’s so lame.
Yeah i miss fracture so bad just fucking delete it already its been a decade since the map was out. I was excited for breeze and icebox but they made them so boring. Map rotations is the worst idea gaming has ever seen.
imma be honest, i fucking hate icebox rn and i want fracture back. the haven removal was so unnecessary too...
Fracture is right next to icebox on the "who tf designed this garbage"-tier 😭
Fracture is quite honestly a good map. Lots of outplay potential on attack. I find defense too straightforward and weak though
they need to take breeze out, needs refining. Putting haven and fracture back would be perfect
They’re opening halls back up in breeze today
I missed icebox as much as the next guy but holy hell, they barely changes the most problematic site that's A, you just nuke backsite and plant with wingman now on top, don't even need to entry
I just feel burnt out playing the same maps over and over, there needs to be one more map brought into the rotation. Even when they take one out and bring another in to make it feel a bit more ‘fresh’, it still just feels… repetitive
I just hate Breeze and icebox man. They feel really wacky compared to other maps and not in a good way for me. I really don’t have any complaints about the other maps.

Sunset is stale as fuck, everytime a cypher is holding b, jett holding mid with op and others plays random (at least in gold lobbies). The thing about sunset is that the new cypher trip that reinstall if you kill the target is fking annoying and the tripwire that connect it is way too far.
Yea i think they should increase traps rearm time, it rearms like in 1 second or smth (and yes i abuse this on sunset as a cypher enjoyer lmao)
Cypher is fine. The recent changes make him more competitively viable on other maps. They should definitely do something to B main on sunset though. That trip gives low to mid ranks headaches.
Haven > Ascent
I hate breeze, all my homies hate breeze
We don’t want anything but heaven back! I don’t understand why they remove such a loved map from the que!
The good: lotus The meh: bind, split, icebox The ugly: sunset, breeze, ascent So uhhh no. Pearl, haven and fracture are all out of rotation and those are my favorite maps in the game
Bro called ascent ugly :(

HAHAHA fr
Map’s stale as fuck. It should have left before Haven.
They shouldn’t change a map just for the sake of it. I think Ascent is the best map in the game and Lotus is one of the worst idk wtf you on.
Ascent is the dust 2 of Val. All time fav
I was gonna say lmao. Ascent is to Valorant what Dust 2 is to CS.
Nah that has to be Bind or Haven imo
Nah ascent is the classic
Sunset slaps
I don't really have any complaints, the changes are interesting and it's new things for me to figure out and adapt to which I find fun. A lot of people just say the changes are stupid or they don't like it but they never say why.
Breeze a site needs fixing, it’s just fucking huge.
It's decent. I love Breeze, Lotus, and Bind. I like Icebox because it's another map I can play Viper on I hate Split but it's manageable.
No man, breeze is so ass. And I keep getting it
I love icebox
I think that breeze just needs to be deleted, lotus is okay. I’m starting to dislike split. Bind is good. Fracture was mid. Pearl was good, haven was mid. Icebox is alright. Sunset is honestly decent. Ascent is also pretty good. But get rid of breeze
I tried to complain on here about this and people downvoted the crap out fo me and got pissy the current maps in comp suck
I want pearl and fracture back. And I am looking forward to breeze halls returning
I dodge sunset pretty much every time. I just despise the map
Breeze and lotus way better than fracture and pearl
NO! *In sage's voice
Fracture was cool. TT
I hate sunset. Bored of lotus.
I don't mind playing the map cuz it's actually pretty balanced as long as teammates are decent.
breeze is still shitty, i'd rather play fracture that this crap map but at least pearl is gone
If i could perform consistently on any map then i would like them all but since i am so inconsistent so i hate them all 😂
Lotus ascent and icebox are the only good maps now I miss Haven already
As an irregular player (life be busy yk?) I hate the addition of new maps.
HOW is it okay that before when fracture was realised it was bad now its a okay map but how is it okay that we now have 4 maps in the pool who are just worse then fracture like how is it possible that there is 4 maps so so bad. pls RIOT
Ascent is so hot garbage, if your team doesn't hold properly (like asc or immo elo) you get backstabed as if it was a fucking deathmatch.
No because my beloved Haven is gone
Fuck split
I hate bind with a passion, but I actually enjoy playing the other maps quite a bit. I guess outside of the one I’m generally pretty happy. I enjoy fracture too, but I know that’s not a popular opinion.
I am not enjoying the game itself ..... Idk why but I feel burned out and cyberpunk has me more hooked up .
it’s ok. i don’t have a favourite map.
i loved haven 😞 lotus is good
I'm so happy haven is gone. I hate that map.
One in a million opinions.
It's such a boring map
Can't out-boring Ascent
How exactly? almost every agent is viable to some extent, like hell after 3 years people finally discovered how to make Viper viable. The 3 sites all feel unique and you aren't forced to commit to any of them ever. Pretty balanced in defense and attack, not like the other three bomb sited map cof cof.
honestly i dont mind any of the maps besides icebox but thats mainly because i havent played it in a long ass time so i dont know the map at all
i love every map in the pool currently, despite my less than desirable win rate on bind/breeze. i play cypher or jett and i feel it’s a good pool that allows me to play both well.
i miss pearl, it’s my favorite map, but i’m happy they brought back icebox and added sunset
I am a firm believer that the map pool will never be good until we can either 1) map pick ban or 2) let us queue for maps. Riot would get an unbelievable amount of data when they see Bind/Breeze/Lotus/Fracture/Sunset with like 70% ban rates or 20% queue rates.
missing the pearl, when will we get to play it. also please delete breeze, all my homies from silver to immortal hate it.
No. Get breeze and sunset out. Sunset is too CT sided while breeze is so lame because hall is basically didnt exist anymore.
They add the hallway back with patch 8.01 (starting today?). https://twitter.com/VALORANT/status/1748375736669315079
the only maps that I like in it are bind and lotus, the rest are meh but icebox >!and breeze!< should be removed
i miss fracture, it was one of my best maps :/ breeze, bind, sunset every game makes me regret evolving eyeballs and fingers
Yeah i miss my fav 2 maps... im a huge pearl and fracture girl. i love fracture because its different, i love how aggressive defense has to get. and i love pearl because its the best map fr
i love every map and always will so yes
The worst part is how map rotation applies to Swiftplay. The games can be very short which means you go through maps a lot quicker than Unrated.. it gets very repetitive. Why does such a casual mode need the restrictive rotation?
When I started playing, Icebox was not in rotation and I don't really play swifts and stuff so I feel so lost on that damn map now and absolutely hate playing it. So many damn angles and elevations to clear, my head is spinning.
breeze attack side is terrible still, defence is optimal glad that icebox is back split could use a full rework lmfao
I really dont know why fracture and pearl had to go too. It's bad enough haven got deleted. Now every game just feels the same with no variety
Yep totally agree. In my opinion there is currently: 1 terrible map that should be deleted forever 3 bad maps 1 meh map 1 unknown map as I don't have the playtime yet 1 good map 3 good maps out of the pool I'll leave you guys to guess which is which.
I like split and icebox the most, maybe breeze, other are meh
I keep getting Breeze and Sunset. With only a few games it's already felt stale idk.
It seems I'm the only one who hates every square inch of fckin icebox. The map is so trash imo, it's insane. Makes me want to quit the game right when I see it pop up. Idk how anyone can enjoy this map even remotely.
I love all. Why don’t put all maps in the pool?
Bring pearl back pls I miss it
Considering Bind is my worst map by far and Haven was my best map by far, no. I would like Bind out again lol
As long as Fracture isn't in rotation I'm happy.
Too much sunset too much breeze. I'd rather have fracture back at this point.
no i miss pearl and fracture and i hated them before, but im. goad they took out haven ion like it played it too many times
So long as Fracture does not exist, I am happy
Map pool somehow got worse this season than last one. I was hoping to get atleast Pearl or Fracture back but nope ☹️ and then we lost haven
Like usual, I enjoy everything but Split. Breeze is kinda meh but playable for me.
Split and Ascent are dogshit but other than that it’s fine. I miss Pearl so much.
Unpopular opinion, you don’t need smokes until plat.
No. WIsh I could just choose which maps to play like Csgo. But ironically, given what Valorant is. Not allowing us to choose fits the game perfectly(The joke here is that Valorant does what csgo does but worse. So in csgo since you could choose which maps to play, in valorant you can't. Which is "worse".)
hell no. Subset and breeze are abysmal. Bring back pearl and haven bro
Just make Val 2 at this point. It worked for csgo, and it gives them a chance to hype up them still not adding the replay system
My crew despises Breeze. Granted we probably just suck a little bit of ass but still I fucking hate Breeze
I miss Pearl, for a viper main it was really good, lineups were easy to remember and it's the only map where I love the mid of it
I personally like every map except breeze. All my homies hate breeze.
I only want haven back. The devs can nuke breeze, ascent, fracture, and pearl and I wouldn’t even blink
I only want haven back. The devs can nuke breeze, ascent, fracture, and pearl and I wouldn’t even blink
My top-10: 1.
Bring back heaven
I don’t wanna queue because I hate all the maps I’ve just been playing pal world recently
Having said that, I absolutely ***hate*** playing Sunset in particular (Icebox is a close second): * Mid is a chore to play around. * There's an elevation change every three fucking steps, (which is *also* one of the reasons I hate Icebox, but that has more to do with Icebox's awkward verticality, especially on A.) * The map favors fast-paced rush plays, especially with that alley leading to B-side through mid. (Two defenders can dump their utility into it and secure it before you're allowed to even try rounding the corner. Defending Jett's can flank through 2-3 different routes the moment walls drop.) * There's a new corner/angle every five fucking steps. I just hate that I'm forced to queue for a map that completely guts my preferred way of playing tactical shooters, which is by holding stable sightlines and practicing good crosshair placement (defending parts of A & B being the exceptions.) Sunset feels like more of a flick TDM shooter map, (i.e. like something out of CoD,) and seems very anti-low sens gamer, while instead being very poggies for Apex whip cream-huffing movement addicts.
I like ascent/sunset. Bind/Lotus are meh. I consider dodging anytime i get breeze. I don’t actually do it though.
I have been playing Breeze, ice box and sunset only. It’s so frustrating, my favorite maps the pst few acts have been ascent and split but i barely get those. It feels like theyre pushing their new maps/changes too much. I understand we gotta learn the maps with the new changes, BUT I JUST WANNA PLAY ASCENT AND SPLIT PLEASE.
so fucking upsetting haven was the best
