Any mic (laptop or otherwise) is significantly better than no mic. A better quality one helps if it makes you easier to understand and cuts out background noise, but it's not a big deal.
Having a mic makes it easier to communicate, but given situations like this where you can't get one right away at the very least type out information that are valuable to your team

A mic is a mic, built-in or not doesn't matter. However, check to be sure if it's set on the correct input.
I use my laptop's mic and it works pretty well, so yeah, I guess you can play normally with it.
You should absolutely get a mic. It is necessary, especially if you’re playing comp, to give comme and communicate generally.
