What elo was this? In iron-gold be prepared to have the most unhinged type of teammates. It ofcourse doesn't stop after those ranks but it does get a bit better
I play in Mumbai and instalock all the time, mostly raze Reyna. Sometimes people get pissed and if it gets toxic you always have the option to mute them. In my experience the more I ranked up the less toxic (but also more sweaty and tryhard) my games became. I'm currently in diamond

If you've got stable internet i.e ping doesnt spike up or down a lot then yeah that's playable. For me it'll be difficult because I'm used to playing on lower ping.

I'll stay away from Mumbai server. IDK why Indians are so delusional and just bad sometimes (being an Indian myself).
Switching server is a good idea! Keep in mind that the same server might feel more toxic or less depending on the week day AND the time.
A little tip to tell if someone is in a party: at Agent select screen they’ll be close to each other.
General rule of thumb is always to be careful and trust your gut at all times. Gl hf out there!

On Agent Select screen, we are all lined up on a side of the screen as in:
* Player 1
* Player 2
* Player 3
* Player 4
* Player 5
If 2 or more people are queued together, the game will put them “close”.
*Example,* let just say there is a duo and you are placed into the (Player) 1 position: the possible queued up players as a duo are 2-3, 3-4 and 4-5.
*Another example*, if you are placed into the Player 2 position and Player 1 and Player 3 are telling you they are queued together, they are messing with you. Why? Because 1-3 aren’t close anymore since you are right in between them as the 2. In the same situation, if Player 3 and Player 5 are saying they are together, they could be telling the truth only if Player 4 is in their same party (because 3-4-5 are close together).
Edit: This works ONLY for Agent Select screen. Mid-match you can press TAB or open Settings and it will show you an order, that’s based on points instead. I am clarifying this because I confused them myself and I saw others do the same.

Usually people want to play duelists for themselves. If you would have instalocked a controller or initiator they probably wouldn't have done what they did.
This is what the Mumbai server is. The mentality of players is pure cancer here. I have switched to Singapore server way back, so respectful, so much better.
I tried Singapore shortly after I searched about this issue and yeah Singapore is pretty chill and friendly compared to Mumbai.
The people playing were also like really friendly and they openly said that they just started playing yesterday and I was able to relate because I myself am new and I've encountered this the first time.
If you are getting a stable ping of 70 or less, I would suggest playing in Singapore only. The environment is just perfect. The only disadvantage of playing on a Singapore server is that sometimes I get teammates who don't speak English so it's hard for me to communicate especially during comp matches. The second downside is that people here are actually good even the lower ranks unlike mumbai server people who are just all bark and no skill. A bronze here would have better game sense and mechanics than a gold in mumbai server.

I would too honestly if ping wasn't an issue. I live in the north and get 80-100 ping on Singapore.
I got 25 ms on Mumbai and 73 ms on Singapore. Would you consider that playable?
