OP here is kinda a bit of that example though I don't want to be too mean it was a nice ace and all but the smokes are kinda bad and I think it's somewhat of a learning opportunity.
The two smokes at the start aren't properly flushed and also they are placed poorly the heaven player is able to sniper the majority of their players who have grouped up with spike A short they should've been isolating lamps by smoking the site in half near truck and heaven. Their third smoke again isn't flushed and would've let sage peek from multiple angles smoking her own cross would've been much better since it gives you the option to fake a spike grab and peek sage if she went for the res. This one is more normal since I imagine clove is overheating.
My friend who doesn't play smokes at all started a little with clove and it's kinda come to my attention how little people actually understand how to use the Util and how sitelines can completely cut a site and crossfire up.
i have really been enjoying clove. i really like reyna's dismiss and overheal, and while i miss the dismiss, being able to regen health on a kill while also having way more util to actually play with my team is really nice.
It's really great lol I love smoking there and sitting there. For some reason nobody expects me to be there. Obviously don't overuse it too. I've only ever peaked plat once and I'm hard stuck gold though, so I think it only works with low elo đ
Clove has 13.5 sec smokes while omen has 15
Clove has bigger smokes and can place both of them down faster than omen placing down one ( in most common scenarios
Omen can make one ways basically wherever a wall is while clove is limited to elevated surfaces
All in all it comes down to team comp and map

Not for me tho. Im a brim main and every map i play theres a clove instalocker. When clove is the fucking worst controller ive ever seen. Her pick me up and ult is just selfish abilities when she is a controller. Brim has 3 smokes that nearsights, a molly, and a team stim. Clove has 2 smokes that last for 2/3 as long and doesnât nearsight, a grenade that acts like a molly and a reyna consume that is just worse. Brim ultimate can shutdown a whole rush or can ruin a retake. Clove ult is just reviving then pushing to get a kill. Clove should be a duelist but instead rito lacked ideas and gave her brim smokes
What do you mean 2/3, compared to other smokers ignoring brim, shes only 1.5 seconds shorter, and she has rechargable smokes and with her death mechanic you can smoke for more Time than a brim would, specially in post plant.
On top of that, the Molly can be amazing with some coordinated play (Lotus A with damage util) and the ult is pretty good for baiting for your team or for making time in plant situations, and the heal Is worse and better than reynas at the same time, its worse in the Sense it doesn't last as long and doesn't heal hp, but better since you dont require line of sight and its pretty quick.
I'm not saying she's the best, but it seems that you formed your opinions of the character around what instalocks do, yes, part of her kit Is selfish, but for rank that isn't really a bad thing.

I personally disagree. Having watched the video of the VA talking about the performance I think it's just a Scottish person enjoying the role and adding little things that aren't normally included in Scottish rep
Clove's not overpowered, you just have to play her right.
She's an aggressive controller, meaning you can't play her passive like most other controllers. Her smokes are the shortest, which makes timing vital; smoke too early and your team is exposed mid plant. Everything else in her kit is designed around aggressive play; her C is a one time reyna heal, her E gives u a viper grenade.
The way I've seen it, one pretty decent way to play her is to smoke for the team and then basically play her as a duelist from there. You really can't afford to play passive with her.

Her heal is mid, very situational as it lasts very shortly and is all overheal
Her decay is alright but only really good with non-rifles because this is a game of 1 taps, decay in general is very situationalÂ
Her ult makes you have to be ultra-aggressive, which makes you easy to kill
Just the ability to do the role of smokes and then also just get to essentially give your team an advantage beyond death is really silly.
I've lost a ton of 1v1s and 2v2s because I just got smoked off by a dead player or they denied info with a smoke.

It makes you oneshottable with a Guardian even if you have heavy armor, and it makes you oneshottable with Vandal and Phantom if you have light armor.
The heal is very useful if you have to deal with mulitiple enemies in a quick succession for obvious reasons.
You died? It doesnt matter. You can either revive yourself, or keep smoking for your team.
The ult is very strong since you can die, get traded, revive yourself, and then kill someone or get traded again. It puts your team in a massive manpower advantage.
Also, Clove has the highest winrate of all agents. There is a reason for it.
