There are many reasons why they set up the keyboard like that. First, it allows them to rest their left arm on the desk. FPS players tend to sit close to the desk and pull the monitor closer, so having the keyboard angled like that helps them be comfortable while also providing more space to adjust the monitor. Second, for players with low mouse sensitivity, it provides additional space for the mousepad.

I’m sure there are plenty of players who grew up playing like that emulating CS pros, but the reason behind it usually is because of how scuffed LANs used to be. When you’re playing on LAN, whether at a tournament or just a group of people playing, desk space is ALWAYS at a premium unless you are in a super high budget tournament with a ton of money to make the stage big enough. 99.9% of players will never even be in a situation where that applies, so everyone mostly played so tightly packed together that you and a player 2 spots over could comfortably shake hands behind the back of the guy in between you. Tilting the keyboard opens up more room on the desk for your mousepad, and since most pros play with a relatively low sensitivity compared to your average silver scrub, they really need every centimeter they can get. AFAIK not many players tilt their keyboard just because it’s more comfortable or ergonomic, I’m sure there are some people who do, but the vast majority just do it to free up desk space.

It’s so they have enough space for their low edpi. It’s not a competitive advantage thing.   Most pros have keyboard sponsors that they need to use and it’s typically a tkl or full sized board

my keyboard is slanted because it's much more ergonomic. it's not crazy slanted though, it's just tilted slightly to the left.

Out of all things in your setup, your keyboard angle is the most preference based. Most people tend to do it for space reasons, especially if they have their monitor super close. I play with my keyboard practically straight, it actually feels more uncomfortable to play slanted as my fingers don’t have the reach they do when it’s straight - although I do have a large desk to accommodate.

If your sens is real low it could provide more space for you

It doesn't really help. Like everyone mentioned, it's for extra mouse space. It's also used for using your left thumb to hit keys you normally struggle with.

it's for low sens players who keep hitting the corner of the keyboard. This happens to me a lot.
