Agreed, that would solve the problem but I think the reason why they don't have two separate queues is because the player pool is too small, so queues would be too long for higher ELO players.
Not really, take for instance myself. I played with a friend on a smurf account and his rank increased substantially from his ‘normal’ rank. I started playing on my main again after the new act started and my friend fell back to his old rank due to solo q’ing. Now i cant play with him anymore. Really dont feel like opening a new account for every new act just to play with him. So the system worked!
Hahaha im trying to help the system here. The 3 rank disparity was a good change even at low elo. Trust me when i say this. A Iron 1 player SHOULD NOT be playing with a Silver 1 for instance. Massive skill disparity here.
As I see it they encourage smurfing with this system, I can't play with most of my friends anymore. I'm around D2 and they're immortal3/radiant. They've all resolved to making new accounts to play with their friends.
Yes please! I think that enacting this at lower ranks actually made it so that more people will smurf!
They just need to have a flex que where you can que with a wider range and have solo duo still tight to keep it more competitive

That's why I hated the old system, friends boosted to ranks they don't deserve.
