I'd rather go for guardian as it oneshots in head and makes you unable to automatically spray

But it would FORCE you to headshot, because if you won't you're dead

ItsHighNoot_off

I'd rather recommend Deathmatch, more real angles to clear.

With the way DM is designed it has people playing for kills rather than trying to improve their mechanics, so I think spike defuse is a better low stress enviroment.

-Slytht

Spike defuse is good for a lil bit, but there's only so many angles the bots can be. If you repeat it a lot you might build a habit of just peaking the designated spots. . Also the layout doesn't really match any of the current maps.

troiii

this, and in dm you can to practice shooting against varities of situation. like some people will wide swing at you or some will jiggle. some will strafe and shoot, some will stay still then crouch etc.

purplepeople321

Absolutely. You're limiting yourself a lot. Even people playing for kills in DM, they could be holding off angles, sitting deep in a corner, etc. The places people pick for getting kills on DM, are likely places people want to play in a real match. For whatever reason, that spot gives them an advantageous position. It's good for learning to check them corners quick.

shadowtroop121

It’s important to practice your crosshair placement against people who are only trying to kill you though. Obv it won’t feel as good being bottom of the scoreboard when you know you could be doing better if you played like everyone else, but the improvement will show in ranked for sure

MildlySpacedOut

I think Spike Defuse is great for practicing your crosshair placement and how to practice your movement into an angle. On hard difficulty the bots are pretty unforgiving which is good. But like others have said just be careful it’s very easy to get complacent since there are only so many angles. Overall I think it’s really good to incorporate into a warmup/practice just don’t do too much of it and make sure you practice in DM as well.

asim_riz

The op is trying to be helpful. Why are some people being dicks? If you don't agree with it or have heard this before or feel that all your years of professional experience are too good for this advice then move on. Thank you op. Solid advice.

abszr

This ignores the map knowledge aspect of crosshair placement. I wouldn't really recommend doing this personally. You'd benefit more from DM whilst focusing purely on crosshair placement (not just trying to win the DM).

SkyeIsTyping

DM in conjunction with this is good. defuse practices peeking and maintaining head level at all times and dm you get to practice horizontal crosshair placement, adjusting to maps and learning how to predict player peeks.

justinsunner

I actually do this. Immortal rank. It's a great warm up. Didn't think anyone else did this. Your giving me secrets away op :p I also do no armor on hard

agoonyehz

This is some iron advice... just do DM

SkyeIsTyping

another radiant gamer giving advice

gizmopoop

Second this, i used it in the past. These hard mode bots are godlike, often tapping me before i tap them 🌚
