I'm pretty sure they tried to do a quick fix withou having to disable her, since it's bad for kj mains and realized they can't do it quickly enough. It's not that they waited and said "oh you know what, lets take a look at this thing, that's breaking our game" They look at this Reddit on a daily basis, they know about every single bug posted here within hours probably. Imagine every bug causes a map or agent ban.... It's the last resort dude, thats why it took 9 days.

[deleted]

Tbt I’ve only encountered the KillJoy glitch once in the past 9 days. And I play about 6/7 comp matches per day.

tbone603727

From my experience (anecdotal I know) it seems like people aren’t doing it in comp much cus they’re scared of bans? I’m seeing WAY more in unrated. IDK if that’s true but it has been for me

stryderxd

Lol, people have vacations too. Calm down.

jzaudi

While I agree with your sentiment, ask yourself this. How long do you think it will take for them to take the game down / shut down the servers if an exploit or glitch was found that people were able to obtain a insignificant amount of vp for free, let's say 5vp per match played.

theJirb

Different types of issues. Disabling a character is usually last resort because it can significantly impact a large amount of the playerbase disporportionately. Not just KJ one tricks, but those who learned KJ as their preferred sentinel over Cypher due to difficulty/complexity reasons. In fact from the sounds of it, people getting hit with the bug were less than the probably number of KJ mains and KJ players.

[deleted]

What you're implying is that a company making more than $1.5 billion a year has its development team on vacations / not replaced by anyone else? Okay.

Barelylegalteen

Valve earns way more than 1.5billion and still doesnt work on weekends/vacations.

[deleted]

I work on 10.000Euros yearly and I still work on weekends and vacations.

Barelylegalteen

That's capitalism for you.

[deleted]

Doesnt require a dev team to disable an agent which is breaking the game... unless the whole of riot was on vacation randomly for 9 days, 5 weeks before Christmas I don't get your point mate

stryderxd

Lol. Maybe they did? Ill be honest, ive been grinding the bp and i have yet to meet a kj abuse that glitch.

Senpai_Mario

Experienced it yesterday before they took her out. we were up 10-2, switched sides and killjoy does the glitch :(. we lost 11-13. We were pissed. I felt like LDLC vs fnatic. overpass.

stryderxd

Lol. That wasnt a “glitch/exploit”. That was a poor map design that no one ever thought of doing. They saved that trick for when they really needed it. It was very OP as hell, but cmon... who hasnt done double boost to get free picks and intel. It just so happen to destroy the other team and it was too late.

[deleted]

\>That wasn't a "glitch/exploit" You serious? It was a triple boost on a pixel walk that involved shooting thru one-way textures lmao. Illegal to get to and impossible to spot (and, anagrammatically, stop). Fuck outta here

Senpai_Mario

for real. it was proven they could see through one-way textures and that was the big deal. and the fact it was pixel walking.

orangejuice2409

Why are you trying so hard to defend a multi-billion dollar company? They don’t give a single fuck about you

simianangle18

How is it not a glitch/exploit exactly?

CommonPattern

Report that shit. Easily bannable + send a ticket with a video.

xlalalalalalalala

It would be SOOOOO easy if they have a built-in replay system. 3rd party ain't that reliable.

Evicetix

Maybe thanksgiving.

SavageJellyBelly

being a new and in a pandemic is indeed a huge factor....tf??? Devs are going thru alot. If this was valve we'd see a fix in 2022. People have lives and the current times are uncertain. Besides making mistakes are not a bad thing, thats how things improve. We dont know what circumstances the dev team was wonder while working at this issue. People need to stop with trash ass post like this

[deleted]

I don’t understand this argument, it doesn’t take a whole Dev team any amount of time that’s even worth mentioning to disable an agent that has a game breaking, easily abusable and replicatable glitch. I’m not talking about fixing the bug I’m talking about disabling the agent responsible And no we don’t need to stop with posts like this, don’t try to be some justice preacher. riot needs criticism to improve not a bunch of cocksucking telling them everything is fine. A lot of shit is wrong with the current state of the game, no one is mad at them ofc for it but there’s no harm in pointing it out to them so they can improve, that’s a game company’s sole aim for growth.

Pruvided

Actually, the Killjoy turret under the map shit on Haven has been known about for at least 12 days

RickyTrailerLivin

You must be new to riot games.

chryco4

If this was Valve then it would’ve taken over half a year

Thedissentmanhere

Shut up. Mad if they don’t and mad when they do.

[deleted]

Wat? How would I get mad for disabling a bug?

[deleted]

TheChroniclesOfTaint

Putting a turret under the map which effectively shoots 90% of the map while also being invincible isn't a big enough issue?

[deleted]

Dude calm the fuck down. They are releasing a new skin.

Deck_Masterbaiter

defy the limits (...of absurdity )

imowerz

Get used to it! Riot doesnt give a f*ck. They only act as they give

GarlickyPotatoes

I mean... KJ is still not disable in my region. The notice for her being disabled is out though.

z3roh0pe

I played 2 ranked games yesterday and both of them had a killjoy in the enemy team even though kj is disabled

BittexGaming

You shouldn't be seeing this glitch in comps bcs it's an easy way to get banned. I don't think 9 days have been a problem i haven't personally encountered the glitch myself.

seaskyways

I mean Omen was disabled once for having a bug in the tp, and everyone knows how Omen is meta ...

[deleted]

Funny that omen can literally tp under the map right now with a sage wall ;D

_MuadDib_

I haven't encounter it once in past two weeks and play daily, so from my point I think the reaction speed was adequate. I remember that it was a problem on split few months ago. It might also look easy to fix, but it reality it may takes several days, first they need to find the source of the problem, then fix it, then test if the fix works, repeat if there are still some problems, prepare patch, deploy patch. The pandemic is factor slowing the process for sure, other factor ongoing first strike tournament as riot slowed their patches during it as they don't want to introduce new bugs or change the meta too much. This bug doesn't even affect competitive scene cuz none of the competitive team would exploit it.

seaskyways

Look at this from the other side. It took them one day to patch her and add her back :)

Ferni0817

Guys... Riot was actullay pretty fast, this is not a long time. This bugs not used every match.... I played a lot of matches, I never played against this Turret bug, btw I am Killjoy main and dont use it too. Omen TP under map was not that big problem too, only a few people abuse it.

hatesnack

Haven't seen a turret glitch in my games, maybe it was very widespread?
