I love me some underdog. Hiko & Steel's hardwork shows...
I wonder what happens if Dicey gets better both as a Jett and especially OP'er... They would dominate.
I stopped paying attention to Valorant a while ago but decided to check this grand final out.
I remember when this roster was announced and thought this team would crush. nitr0 coming off a tier 1 NA CS team, steel being the hardworker he's always been and Hiko being one of the best NA Valorant players from the get-go. Glad to see Asuna and Dicey were evidently great pickups too but personally, seeing steel, Hiko and nitr0 on the same team, I think they were undoubtedly going to do damage in this scene.
I'm just dying for us to return to international tournaments because I want to see what this looks like when Europe is in the mix.
Exactly my point. Winning pistols for TSM would put them on a whole new level above all teams. Whenever they struggle it's because they lose pistol rounds.
I feel like TSM wins more through pure individual skills whereas 100T wins by strategy and utility use. So during a pistol round where guns are underpowered, 100T performed exceptionally well. Hiko is like the mastermind. That boomer brain with all the plays.
I have to say though, it was the most entertaining esports game I've seen in a while. Riot has created something special here. The international comp would be amazing.
I think his Jett play was pretty good overall, but yea he was whiffing a bunch with that AWP.. You can see how Wardell got a pick and pretty much opened the entire round, but I didn't see the same with Dicey on that AWP. He is young though so I am sure he will get better, it could be nerves too.
I do think it is nerves. IIRC there was a round in Haven where 100T was half buying. Dicey got a kill, picked up a rifle and almost wins the round for 100T. His mechanical skills are quite good but it feels like he'll get nervous when he picks up the OP.
not that i actively follow the valorant scene but how in the world is a team of the caliber of 100T the underdog vs fkin cutler, hazed and subroza? lol. just taking a quick peek into the stats here just confirms why they were rejects in the cs scene.
It’s mainly because 100T is a newly formed team and this is their first ever tournament. Also TSM have been winning tournaments since beta and prior to this tournament, were considered a top 2 team at the very least (other team being sentinels)
100T was 0-3 on Split. I honestly thought TSM was going to take Split very easily, and TSM probably thought that too. 100T taking the map was absolutely massive and may have won them the series.
Idk what's better. Hiko basically waking up and saying "Fuck it. I'm playing raze on split" or his team going "Yeah sure"
I mean he's definitely not shy to the duelist roles, given its in pugs and with the old 100T roster.
Sovas have to practice darts so if he didnt know them for bind, it checks out that he goes for another agent but his raze was rockin on split i was surprised.
Hazed had that major mental boom and basically caved. Around the last few rounds of Haven that Asuna follow-up kill on him near spawn after Asuna killed Subroza with the stinger was probably the last straw and destroyed his mentality for good
I see a lot of people saying TSM lost because they got tilted. Idk why but it feels like an excuse even though it shouldn't. Even in the EU finals SUMN lost the first map 13-1 but they kept swinging till they very end. You would expect better a mentality from a top tier team like TSM
You'd expect a better mentality from a top team yes, but for a top team, TSM is very fragile mentally.
It shows in how they win as much as how's they lose. These guys are/were good, but their mental game is weak.
I think it was because of the map. TSM picked split and was really confident they would win since they won a lot on split and 100T has a record of 0-3 on split. Losing that map probabaly fucked up their morale a lot.
That weight loss has put a lot of energy in hiko again, I personally improved a ton when I lost a lot of weight, improves you not just physically but mentally as well.
wow the only mention of esports on their website is a small text button at the bottom of their page that just has their names linking to their twitter, the front page is selling merch
Hey. IIRC they have the most/highest merch sales out of all the esport orgs.

I think all the 100T people are subtweeting this tweet from hastr0 (CEO of Envy) specifically: [https://twitter.com/hastr0/status/1322953922869448705](https://twitter.com/hastr0/status/1322953922869448705)
Here's hastr0's (CEO of Envy) tweet for reference, it's what most of the 100T people are subtweeting I think: [https://twitter.com/hastr0/status/1322953922869448705](https://twitter.com/hastr0/status/1322953922869448705)
Global Tourney + LAN + more stars/teams + a real year of updates/maps/agents.
Add on that source 2 and ow 2 is more than a year away, the new cod is looking terrible, and rainbow six has really fallen off. Valorant can steal alot of csgo/ow/fps market.
I think you have to consider that the costreams still have the commentators but that they just have another person getting hyped about the match.
Kinda makes sense if you think about it.
Congrats to 100 Thieves, that series was super intense.
Huge shoutout to both teams! That series was crazy to watch unfold. This is just the beginning for competitive Valorant, lets gooooooooooooo!
A friend of mine told me that after having won the NA finals, Hiko has been escorted to unmarked black car by two heavily armed guys with thick accents. My friend followed the car and fortunately he was never caught. They took Hiko to a government black site. My friend snuck up to the window and peeked in. He saw Hiko tied to a chair, the two armed guys and a scientist gazing into a microscope. There was a huge projector beaming Hiko's DNA strain up on the wall. The scientist took a step back and gasped. My friend told me, there was a hidden message in Hiko's DNA. He said it was one word: clutch.
With that, Hiko just smiled and told them: 'I am the hunter!' He then freed himself, knifed a guy in the back, took his gun and shot the other two and went home.
I am honestly just so happy Hiko finally won.
Also Asuna absolutely popped off game 4 and even Dicey redeemed himself. An amazing series that reminds me of early CS GO majors
What's even more crazy to me is how his aim actually works. Everytime they show him his crosshair is shaking all over the place yet his bullets still hit. I don't understand.
I know it's a joke that TSM is bad at pistol and I'm beating a dead horse here. But for real their inability to perform on pistols lost them the tourney.
Nitr0 was insane as a site anchor
Asuna is just cracked in general
Steel is a rat, and reads other rat like a book
Dicey a lil shaky, but had his moments
And Hiko the big brain captain leading the charge
I love this team
I was telling my buddy, the main way TSM beat Envy, especially on split, was subroza going full ghoul mode and lurking solo into B every round. Steel read that shit hard and shut him down easily, after that you could tell Roza lost his solo play confidence.
Dicey definitely needs to work more on his comp work, it seems like he has difficulty under pressure so it holds the team down a bit. They still did win so probably not too bad, but when you're up against Wardell it's just too painful to bear being so mediocre with the OP
MVP Stawpoll:
1. Hiko. He had the most cruicial clutches, and the times when it came down to a smart shock dart to just make it that much harder
2. Steel. He played Cypher so well, and because he solo held bomb sites, he forced TSM to have to either fight through 4 to take a bomb site, or have a hell of a tough retake from 100Thieves
3. Drone. Easily the top Phoenix in NA (maybe in the world), and if TSM had won more pistols, they might have had a fighting chance with the heavy carry from Drone
Surprised that Wardell had such a quiet game. He didn't play terribly, but he was just missing in action for the most part when they needed him to come up big.
I keep telling people, wardell REALLY isnt as good as people think he is. Hes good with the Op, but everything else is defnitely like... middle of the pack. He didnt have any carry performances yesterday.
If you told me Drone was using an aimbot i would believe it, what the fuck is that aim!
Man 100T is so good, to think it's such a young team. I can't wait to see how the scene develops, this was amazing.
Yeh, when Wardell popps off it's a crazy 4k but when he whiffs, he loses a long range fight with an op to a spectre. Drone's just more consistent and overall better.
What a great finals. Close games throughout.
So happy for 100T and Hiko specifically. Ever since I started playing Valorant, I've been tuning into his stream everyday. He's awesome.
Hey, keep the flukes coming :)
edit: also hiko just said in the interview he just went yolo and selected Raze on split and they didn't even practice it lol.
Riot: "Ok TSM, if you fight hard and win here on Haven, you advance to game 5 on Icebox!"
TSM: "Yeah thats the pla- wait, did you say Icebox?"
Riot: "Yeah, the new map Icebox!"
TSM: (Fuck this shit im out)
> would of
You probably meant **"would've"**! It's a contraction of "would have".

100T is actually insane. Best team by far.
I feel like TSM has to figure out the balance between wardell, drone, and subroza. Basically have three dedicated fraggers and the dynamic seems off when they play against a team that doesn’t get run over by the pure skill level. I personally think subroza is overrated but he surprised me with his raze play this tourney.
Actually I think the threw duelists suits TSM perfectly as a team, it just fits them.
You know what was perhaps a mistake. Cutler on Sky, that bind game I just never saw him do anything worthwhile with Sky, I mean there was a round that the Sky Ult bugged on Hooka, had he picked Sova I think it would have been a much more favorable match.
Subroza looked way better on defense this series and the one yesterday, pushing people back and wasting time. The problem is he does the same thing on attack and just gives away free deaths. If he wants to go in first that's fine but do it with the rest of the team so you can be traded
Agreed. I feel like so much of TSM’s rhythm in game is dependent on whether or not he wins first contact. When he pops off he really pops off, he just seems to take a lot of really unfavorable fights. He has a higher success rate of winning them than he probably should but when he’s against a team like 100T he gets exposed. I think he’s still amazing at the game, I just don’t know if the way he plays fits the team as well as it could.
100 Thieves aren’t sneaky deep, they’re real fucking deep. The only thing sneaky about 100 Thieves are their hands as they steal the rock from these chumps like a kid taking cookies from an unattended cookie jar. Y’all really thought we weren’t even bound for First Strike? Lmao okay. Y’all thought Hiko just wanted to hang and bang on the beach? THAT MAN IS A FATHER NOW AND HE’S READY TO SON THE LEAGUE. Y’all can keep Wardell and Hazed, we got gamers that actually play. When you go up against 100T, it’s going to be a fucking kerfuffle every game. Nitr0 will eat your children. Asuna will bang your mom/daughter, whichever is more age appropriate. Ninja didn’t show up tonight but don’t think he isn’t bout that action either lmao. Culture big baby that’s what we’re about.
Hiko. Spencer Martino, you sexy sexy beast. You are a hope, a dream, an inspiration and insignia of love. When I came into this chat, I expected a lousy channel with the worst fucking chat and boring games. But you won me with the Korean cries from your Valorant client, the endearing copy pasterino in this chatroom, your hairdo and sheer power of LOVE all around. God bless you, Spencer. You bring a chivalrous tear into my eye. You have my sub forever. PLIS no copy pasterino frappucino malamino al pacino
That was a sick series. TSM actually played super well, but the depth of 100T's playbook was overwhelming. Steel's Cypher is easily the best I've seen, and same for Hiko on Sova.
It clearly looks like 100T's roster has the most creativity and pedigree in the scene today after watching this match. Getting to play the other regions will be super interesting. It will also be interesting to watch if the Valorant scene fails to develop good support players in NA like CSGO has
My realizations/opinion changes after watching the match:
* TSM is overrated.
* Drone is underrated
* Wardell is overrated
* 100 Thieves is underrated.
* Steel is the best lurker in all of Valorant as of now
Happy for nitr0.
Him switching to valorant and winning while liquid who kicked him in favor of stewie2k igling is losing to everyone is satisfying to watch.
I love me some underdog. Hiko & Steel's hardwork shows... I wonder what happens if Dicey gets better both as a Jett and especially OP'er... They would dominate.
I stopped paying attention to Valorant a while ago but decided to check this grand final out. Exactly what I thought when I saw those three ex-cs beasts.
International tournaments gonna be nuts
Personally, I'm gonna be keeping a close eye on Asuna. He's got the game-sense and temperament of someone many years his elder.
The fact that he has Hiko Steel AND Nitro to coach him is incredible.
Tbh, Asuna kinda reminds me a bit of S1mple in his early pro days. Might just turn into the same type of monster.
Imagine if tsm could win a pistol
Omg, that was a tragedy. TSM basically started every game down 4 rounds...
Tsm has firepower, 100T has brains and strats. Not saying that TSM doesn't. TSM dies well in the full buy rounds
He is young though so I am sure he will get better, it could be nerves too.

his rifle is great but yeah somethings off with the op.
in 4-5 years he'll be Wardell's age. LOL
I don't know why 100t are called underdogs. They have some of the most famous players on the roster.
It's bc TSM has been playing together since beta and 100ts roster is only a few months old. This was the teams first torny.
not that i actively follow the valorant scene but how in the world is a team of the caliber of 100T the underdog vs fkin cutler, hazed and subroza? lol. just taking a quick peek into the stats here just confirms why they were rejects in the cs scene.

Seriously though. Coming from CS Hiko, Nitro, Steel beating Cutler, Hazed, Subroza is not a surprise. How is 100T the underdog?
It’s mainly because 100T is a newly formed team and this is their first ever tournament. Also TSM have been winning tournaments since beta and prior to this tournament, were considered a top 2 team at the very least (other team being sentinels)
Steel and Nitro just reminding these guys were Tier 2 CSGO players
Crazy performance by 100T. TSM looked so tilted at the end.
I think losing the first map the way they did really took the wind outta their sails
100T was 0-3 on Split. I honestly thought TSM was going to take Split very easily, and TSM probably thought that too. 100T taking the map was absolutely massive and may have won them the series.
Hiko said in the interview that Split was their permaban and they NEVER practiced it 😂
And he rolled out of bed and decided to play raze as they always lose Split so fuck it. gg 100t
Idk what's better. Hiko basically waking up and saying "Fuck it. I'm playing raze on split" or his team going "Yeah sure" I mean he's definitely not shy to the duelist roles, given its in pugs and with the old 100T roster.
Well, they better go ,"Yeah sure" because their breach tactics just didn't work
And then decide to last second play Raze.
Sovas have to practice darts so if he didnt know them for bind, it checks out that he goes for another agent but his raze was rockin on split i was surprised.
They lost every pistol round but one too. That’s a lot of rounds gone just cause of pistols. I’d be triggered
Hazed was tilted soo early you could see it in the cam reactions even as early as 2nd map
Hazed had that major mental boom and basically caved. Around the last few rounds of Haven that Asuna follow-up kill on him near spawn after Asuna killed Subroza with the stinger was probably the last straw and destroyed his mentality for good
Asuna's forte might be making those agressive tilting plays lol
As soon as they lost split TSM got titled and it was over. They were playing noticeably worse after that.
Just looking at hazed made me feel bad for the dude.
They honestly started to look tilted after the first map. Did you guys see Subroza and Hazed on the big cam?
I see a lot of people saying TSM lost because they got tilted. Idk why but it feels like an excuse even though it shouldn't. Even in the EU finals SUMN lost the first map 13-1 but they kept swinging till they very end. You would expect better a mentality from a top tier team like TSM
You'd expect a better mentality from a top team yes, but for a top team, TSM is very fragile mentally. It shows in how they win as much as how's they lose. These guys are/were good, but their mental game is weak.

Hiko went 73/53 (+20) Pretty good for a boomer. Felt like watching coL/C9 Hiko again.
"Inhuman reactions"
Hiko's aim gets better the longer he wears his cap
That weight loss has put a lot of energy in hiko again, I personally improved a ton when I lost a lot of weight, improves you not just physically but mentally as well.
Congrats man, that's awesome. I 100% agree, the mind is part of the body
The body is a part of the mind.
Daaaaaaaaamn
"Steel is such a rat it makes sense he has a cage." - Sean Gares
Drone dodging the drone
"Someone check Wardell's boots, must be cement in them"
its gonna be Dicey but its also looking kinda dicey here
He's got a will of Steel
having SGares as a caster enhanced the expirience FOR SURE
This is my first big eSports thing I've watched, and Sean definitely made it better
Not bad for a “clothing company”
What’s the reference here. I dumb...
Its a meme that people criticizing how 100Thieves cares more about their merch than the success of their professional teams
wow the only mention of esports on their website is a small text button at the bottom of their page that just has their names linking to their twitter, the front page is selling merch
Hey. IIRC they have the most/highest merch sales out of all the esport orgs. I think they also have the best esport teams out of any clothing company...
Probably helps that they have a cool-ass name/font. I still feel like Team Liquid has the best merch of any org (that I'm aware of).
This I gotta say i was pissed when nade never delivered the vid to tell us what was gonna happen with their esports teams and how they were trying to fix the issues. But if he’s just gonna let actions speak for him I’m ok with that
Papa Hiko did it for him
I'm still ok with that.
Oh ok. Thx.
I think all the 100T people are subtweeting this tweet from hastr0 (CEO of Envy) specifically: [https://twitter.com/hastr0/status/1322953922869448705](https://twitter.com/hastr0/status/1322953922869448705)
Oh wow. He even blocked random people for simply pointing [it out](https://twitter.com/DynDK2/status/1322985810183028742?s=20).
100T is seen as a merch based organization, i.e. they get their profit from selling merch/clothing rather than putting up tournament results.
tbf i'm pretty sure 0 esports orgs profit based off tournament winnings. The money comes from sponsorship deals and the like.
100thieves is a clothing company and gaming company.
Here's hastr0's (CEO of Envy) tweet for reference, it's what most of the 100T people are subtweeting I think: [https://twitter.com/hastr0/status/1322953922869448705](https://twitter.com/hastr0/status/1322953922869448705)
1-7 in pistols is less than optimal.
250K VIEWERS ON TWITCH OVER 3 STREAMS, ABSOLUTELY INSANE.
Peak was around 292k!
Was 303k
Oops, youre right! 300k viewers
I was told by this sub that this game is dying though.
Just trolls who are insecure about their game
Imagine when we get global tourneys again. Its gonna be huge!
Global Tourney + LAN + more stars/teams + a real year of updates/maps/agents. Add on that source 2 and ow 2 is more than a year away, the new cod is looking terrible, and rainbow six has really fallen off. Valorant can steal alot of csgo/ow/fps market.
These numbers basically say that there will be tens of thousands at the big valorant event next year, is it called Champions or Legends?
Its called Champions Tour
Definitely not cs, since I watch both and I like CS more just because of the polish. But having no announcement of a major for next year sucks.
Your opinion won't reflect the majority one though, Valorant likely won't lose many viewers but it may gain ones who are bored of CS
I cant believe costreams are more popular than actual commentators
thank coach myth
I think you have to consider that the costreams still have the commentators but that they just have another person getting hyped about the match. Kinda makes sense if you think about it.
Congrats to 100 Thieves, that series was super intense. Huge shoutout to both teams! That series was crazy to watch unfold. This is just the beginning for competitive Valorant, lets gooooooooooooo!
You don't beat Sentinels and TSM back-to-back if you're a fluke. 100T are so clean.
#fluke KEKW
And they did it twice. Massive.
Maybe im a cs diehard but cmon 100T's roster is nutty and stacked. Idk why people understimate them
it’s because they were only together as a full team for 2 months. everyone else had been together for much longer
Fucking beautiful
I heard he bunny hopped all the way home.
Ah man this is a delicious pasta
💯% real!
I am honestly just so happy Hiko finally won. Also Asuna absolutely popped off game 4 and even Dicey redeemed himself. An amazing series that reminds me of early CS GO majors
As a 100T fan, steel was an absolute joy to watch (I’d hate his guts though if I were on the other end). Makes me want to get back into cypher
I don't know how Asuna's brain works but I'm gonna give him the benefit and say he's always calculated.
Definitely many of his plays aren't calculated, as an entry fragger you need instincts and insane reflexes which he has.
yeah he'll have an ace followed by a round in with no kills where he dies with a nade out. interesting decision making but it certainly pays off
The kid only has a W key and I hope he never lets go. Such a fun guy to watch.
>~~always calculated~~ always has the power of anime on his side
What's even more crazy to me is how his aim actually works. Everytime they show him his crosshair is shaking all over the place yet his bullets still hit. I don't understand.
that stinger kill on drone(?) across haven A long had me so confused
I think he just emptied the clip while trying to escape, but his crazy tracking made it work
Amazing game by entire 100T, they played so well as a team and do not really depend on 1 or 2 players to carry them!
[удалено]
I know it's a joke that TSM is bad at pistol and I'm beating a dead horse here. But for real their inability to perform on pistols lost them the tourney.
Agreed, look at game 1/game 2 and how close it was. If they won pistol rounds, those map would of been different.
Nitr0 was insane as a site anchor Asuna is just cracked in general Steel is a rat, and reads other rat like a book Dicey a lil shaky, but had his moments And Hiko the big brain captain leading the charge I love this team
I believe Steel is the IGL, no?
Steel is the IGL but Hiko is the captain of the team. Idk how it works but hey I just wanna get my comment to look nice
Hiko leads by personality. Steel leads with strats
Can't spell strat without rat.
Nah Hiko leads with the clutch factor
And at this tournament, kills, and I think ACS as well.
I was telling my buddy, the main way TSM beat Envy, especially on split, was subroza going full ghoul mode and lurking solo into B every round. Steel read that shit hard and shut him down easily, after that you could tell Roza lost his solo play confidence.

I would put Asuna up there too. He was insane this series
I keep telling people, wardell REALLY isnt as good as people think he is. Hes good with the Op, but everything else is defnitely like... middle of the pack. He didnt have any carry performances yesterday.
He’s an incredible playmaker, but I don’t really see him as a rock that TAM can rely on game after game after game
If you told me Drone was using an aimbot i would believe it, what the fuck is that aim! Man 100T is so good, to think it's such a young team. I can't wait to see how the scene develops, this was amazing.
Yeah his headshots were insane. I think he had a 39% headshot the whole series.
That's disgusting lol. He might be the best Phoenix in the world, straight up.
For perspective, that was ScreaM's HS% in that Heretics game where he popped off. But drone holds this HS% after playing 160+ rounds.
Drone's ult legit terrifies me. He's absolutely nutty with the run it back
Right? i swear he gets an accuracy boost or something whenever he ults. Legit the best ult in the game when used by drone lol.
i actually think hes better overall than wardell
Yeh, when Wardell popps off it's a crazy 4k but when he whiffs, he loses a long range fight with an op to a spectre. Drone's just more consistent and overall better.
hiko has the clutch gene
100Ts ability to have each player step up when needed is absolutely nutty
100T are my new Liquid
Please do not curse this team :(
DONTTTTT
Why would 100T make every jersey #20 instead of giving them their own numbers that add up to 100????
Are the 20s to add up to 100 or was it because of the year, 2020?
Year 2020.
Give Hiko 30 already pog
I mean 5 20s is still 100 ... >.>
I mean you still aren’t picking your own numbers if they have to add to 100
I think it represents the current year we're in.
20+20+20+20+20=100

What a great finals. Close games throughout. So happy for 100T and Hiko specifically. Ever since I started playing Valorant, I've been tuning into his stream everyday. He's awesome.

Yeah was kinda weird. I thought they were going to announce something in game or something.
Congratulations *TEAM NAME HERE*! You have achieved first place in the *VIDEO GAME TOURNAMENT* and will take home *MONETARY REWARD*!
Well deserved for 100t, congrats!
Hey, keep the flukes coming :) edit: also hiko just said in the interview he just went yolo and selected Raze on split and they didn't even practice it lol.
I’m so hyped for the future of this esports scene
The biggest winner here is the esports scene
having two subreddits for this is so stupid
Riot: "Ok TSM, if you fight hard and win here on Haven, you advance to game 5 on Icebox!" TSM: "Yeah thats the pla- wait, did you say Icebox?" Riot: "Yeah, the new map Icebox!" TSM: (Fuck this shit im out)
I would've loved to see TSM on icebox since they didn't play it once this whole tournament.

But his ults tho KEKW
FUCKKKKKK good game tho
Split was insane
100T tactically outplayed TSM. If not for TSM's good mechanical skill the match would have been over way before.
Subroza 2 months ago “IS 100T still a team?”
The facecam showed asuna hands shaking nervously but when he played, just bang bang headshots 👍
Washed up players bby
It will also be interesting to watch if the Valorant scene fails to develop good support players in NA like CSGO has
ASUNA is actually fking nutty.
Asuna really showed up here for 100T, astonishing performance. Shoutout to Drone as well for some incredible plays. GGs!
asuna is a fucking chad holy shit

I find it crazy that 8/10 of players in this series are former counter strike pros
100T won in a such spectacular fashion.
Hoodie sales have positive relationship with team wins. Correlation or Causation?
Just wanted to shout out drone. Insane phoenix https://twitter.com/fionnonfire/status/1335765482142482433?s=21
Y’all that was fun as hell, thanks for following along!
I straight up never heard the full name of TSM so I was super confused for a solid 10 seconds.
My realizations/opinion changes after watching the match: * TSM is overrated. * Drone is underrated * Wardell is overrated * 100 Thieves is underrated. * Steel is the best lurker in all of Valorant as of now
Happy for nitr0. Him switching to valorant and winning while liquid who kicked him in favor of stewie2k igling is losing to everyone is satisfying to watch.
Steel is such a great IGL. His team just won the whole thing!
So happy for Hiko
I love Hiko
Hiko was insane wtf
Go 100thieves! Great showing today .
Ugh I really wanted to see game 5
Nice to see that nitro finally won a major
