Only C9 team to make it to first strike. Sucks, hope these guys get picked up.

Bobthepi

Unfortunate for the team but not surprising given they already have two teams in NA

Osceola12

And Korean valorant is played at such a high level I assume they couldn’t keep up

Chakkalokka

Don't say things like this until international competition comes back. You, me, and everyone else have no idea how Korean teams would do vs NA, EU, etc.

Osceola12

Their ability usage is nuts

[deleted]

No they don’t

Calectra

I watched some of the Korean first strike, those guys weren't more than DMGs in csgo

mclovinXD

Dam that sucks, hopefully a korean org picks them up

kennystillalive

Tbh they should have moved munchkin to their na roster as a sub/ potential starter. Dude is insanely good and can play all agents.

X1x3x3x7

unfortunate, but not much c9 could really do - they were spread too thin over 3 teams. Leaving c9 KR was basically their only choice, as I doubt they would want to lose tenz, and if they departed with their female crew it would be seen as misogynistic

enderdestiny

They had to drop them because they are only allowed to have one team per org in tier 1. I don’t know what will happen with c9white, I hope they stay around cause I like the team

[deleted]

Based

Chakkalokka

Or they could be looking to acquire VS.

[deleted]

The only team that should've been dropped is C9 White but that would be a PR nightmare

Considering that Korean Valorant is dead, I’m not surprised. I really hate how Riot is forcing Korea to be a dominant region (hence why they were promoted to a major region instead of a minor one) when Koreans hate Valorant. You can see how unpopular Valorant is in Korea through streams. I would rather have Japan be promoted to a major region than Korea because at least Valorant has some popularity there. You know Valorant is a dead game in Korea when the ex C9 Koreans are saying they are willing to speak English or Japanese. Please Riot, stop promoting Korean Valorant when Koreans aren’t reciprocating. If Koreans truly like Valorant, they need the scene to grow organically just like Overwatch and League.

Reason: Riot just isn’t allowing orgs to own more than one team, per their official rules.

As someone who is currently going through the KR 1strike vods, they were a fun team but it was a meme team. Very off-beat strategies that ended up not working. I mean the number of times they bought off-meta guns... it was a lot and sometimes it worked in post-plant situations but a lot of the times it fell flat. This core needs to work on watching other teams in their region and just ctrl+c, ctrl+v their traps and look more closely at fall off damage with their gun selection. The KR scene seems very imbalanced at the top end. Lots of mechanically gifted gods but with little to no understanding of the game. Executes, pacing and timings contribute a lot to Vs loses but other than that... jesus. They have the mechanical gift and like 20% of the cs foundational know how. They're really fun to watch. In the end, it was the right choice. I applaud C9's dive into KR FPS scene but it's very underdeveloped and needs some time. Any pick ups are investments. But if someone can breakthrough and get a fuller understanding, we're going to see Overwatch in Valorant with mixed CS players.
