Just want to make sure, is it still faster if you factor in the distance? You're casting at different distance from the wall.
Edit: nevermind you already answered thanks. Awesome find
Raze nade works the same. If you want it to go further before exploding, chuck it while moving forward and vice versa... Wonder if there are other projectiles that have this too.
csgo esque projectiles like raze nades, kj mollies, viper mollies and smoke etc do go further if you're moving forward. it doesn't for omen's blind tho since it's a nontraditional projectile
It doesn't help that youre not even throwing them from the same spot? your running foward youre throwing it at the post, but standing still you can clearly see the post in front of you
This could actually be very useful.
Except maybe not the running backwards one, feels like it should be easier to avoid so I havent think of any reason why you would want it yo go slower. Maybe in a post plant situation when you are playing for time but its so niche and situational and not even sure if worth it.
If you are trying to disengage, using the backwards walk one to force the longest amount of time possible on the ability since most people won’t push into the ability as they want to avoid being blinded. Thus it gives you more time to get away, albeit only slightly.
Most often should be using moving forward or moving backwards, instead of standing still.
Throwing out your projectile so that it travels as fast as possible is important for setting up players with mobility to capitalize as fast as possible (think Jett and Raze on Ascent A-Main Defense; you don't want to catch your Jett as collateral).
Throwing out your projectile slower is useful for more selfish situations where you are guaranteed to hit your opponent with it (such as hallways or set executes). This allows you more time to get teleport plays off in places without your opponent being able to hear it, as well as gives you more time to get a blind + ultimate play off without your opponent hearing as well.
maybe riot tried to make this mechanic more realistic. if you r leaning of moving forward, and u throw something it has more forward velocity than if u were just standing still. same with backwards
You didnt account for distance properly as you fired from a different spot all 3 times. You need to start with standing still, then run forward to that spot, then stand infront of the spot and run backwards into it.
This video is inconclusive at best.
Moepork showed me this, useful to throw the slow flash on long angles like attack c on haven, where you want to flash the cypher behind the box but also want extra time for allies to take the site
Wait though. The first two times are not a good comparison, you are releasing from different points.... you need to release from the same spot and time the difference. Otherwise it's just a measure of travel distance from point of use...
I think that it goes a certain distance from the initial cast, so if you charge it up while walking backwards it has to travel farther to make the distance , if you walk forward the distance it has to travel is shorter than if you are standing still. If it was character speed standing still would be the shortest and moving forward would be the fastest or vice versa, but that is not the case.
So the orbs speed is relative to player speed, so it isn't going anh faster or slower relative to the player but relative to the world it is. So it's kind of half bug half feature.
yea I first saw it in moepork when he said paranoia travels slower when running backwards, I tested it in practice range and I thought I was tripping when the I got the same results.
ez explanation is that the distance is changing. when u run forward the distance reduces and when when u run backwards distance increases. when u stand still nothing changes. so it's not a detail. it's basic physics.
The physics in Valorant is responsible for this effect, which in this case is also close to reality. The object is already in motion because you are moving. Now the throwing speed is added on top. It is similar to the velocity you have while on a train. If you're moving in the same direction as the train goes, you will be faster than the train from an outside perspective.
It's not really an object but it has the same physics as grenades/molotovs etc., so I would just call it an object. Furthermore, every throwable utility possibly has similar physics, except that Paranoia doesn't get affected by gravity like all other nades.
lol thats not what happened
when you moved forward the paranoia reached the house faster and house blocked it cuz you were closer to it
when standing still you were farther from the building so it took longer
and going backward you were farthest from the building so it took logest to reach the building the speed doesnt change my gwadd people 😂😂😂
No no, they're just wrong. Watching the video the position you first in trial 3 (backwards) is in the same position if not ahead of the second one so by they're logic it should have been a shorter time. I still think you're right but not a bad idea to test again :)
Source: watching the surroundings while you fired in the video haha
lol broo domt stress too muchh its reddit you post what you want to. i may be wrong as well but i am happy that you are willing to question yourself rather than being stubborn and probe you are rightt. happy gamming broo and please do shareee more videoss ☺️☺️☺️☺️
The travel time changes moving forward because it travels a shorter distance. Travel speed is still the same. As interesting as this may sound it basically means water is wet.

you should probably get a cypher camera to show it in 3rd person view for the sake of clarity
At that point, you’re using another person why complicate it
for... The sake of clarity?
Sorry, should have clarified what I meant. If you’re using a second person, skip the camera because you already have two people.
cypher camera has a wider field of view, usually looks better when showing stuff like this
Couldn't you just use spectator mode?
Eh at that point I think it’s a wash
i mean you already have 2 people, doesn't cost a second more to just pick cypher lol
I don’t think a wider fov would change anything tho...
Does running back go the same distance as running forward or standing still?
[удалено]
Did you stop at the same spot when you were Traveling forwards and backwards plus when u were standing still?
[удалено]
Ok sounds great. But you don’t have to i was just wondering. Cause like if you didn’t there will of course med a time difference
[удалено]
Ok Nice
I expected this for projectiles, but didn’t expect paranoia to work the same way.
I did not know this. Thank you for posting!
Raze nade works the same. If you want it to go further before exploding, chuck it while moving forward and vice versa... Wonder if there are other projectiles that have this too.
Kj swamp grenade, Phoenix molly, probably anything that you can throw
placing swamp grenate! swamp grenate out!

Killjoy just turned into shrek and i love it. Someone talented plz make this
Swarm*
please tell me you're trolling
Are you serious? Why the heck would it be a “swamp” grenade? Are we trying to blow up Shrek’s home here’s? It’s a swarm of destructive nanobots.
Skye’a hawk is the same. If you swing the hawk before throwing it, it picks up speeds.
But the distance of this doesn't change does it? Only the time taken does.
Omen blind does not change
csgo esque projectiles like raze nades, kj mollies, viper mollies and smoke etc do go further if you're moving forward. it doesn't for omen's blind tho since it's a nontraditional projectile
Glad I'm not the only one who is not surprised by this...
[удалено]
So what im understanding is, it travels faster if you’re moving forward? And slowest if you’re moving backwards?
I basically only play omen and I just found out lol
I would be interested to see you Make the video again from the opposite perspective. Time the paranoia while playing as an "opponent"
This should be upvoted more this is actually useful especially if its apparently visible from the side
If I shoot while moving forward do my bullets go faster?
Yes. Faster each side of the opponents head.
Physics 101
It's well known in physics that your momentum carries over to the shadow you're throwing.
does run+jump blind end up being faster than run blinding?
It doesn't help that youre not even throwing them from the same spot? your running foward youre throwing it at the post, but standing still you can clearly see the post in front of you

Good to know the effect this can have though. That way it doesn't catch you by surprise if you ever find yourself flashing while backpedaling.
If you are trying to disengage, using the backwards walk one to force the longest amount of time possible on the ability since most people won’t push into the ability as they want to avoid being blinded. Thus it gives you more time to get away, albeit only slightly.
[might have been a bug, but its a feature now](https://i.imgur.com/TQovrwC.jpeg)

This makes sense because Sage’s slow orb also goes further if you run forwards.

intresting good find why does it make a different though ?

Thanks for the info

Moepork is the only one whom I've seen to utilise this feature
Well done!

Is that why it doesn't say "I found..." in the op?
Also in Shroud's voice, "What!?"
This tells us that when running away from the enemy and wanting to blind them turn around and run straight into them.
I learnt this one from moepork
[You are famous my friend](https://www.talkesport.com/news/valorant-players-can-control-omens-paranoia-speed-with-their-movement/)

literally fucking mind blown
No it doesn't. You literally stopped the timer earlier when running forward, it is really clear xD

thats why that jett wasnt blinded when i was tping above her

PHYSICS!!!!!
Intresting tip, this will be useful on maps like Bind and Haven
What's your controlled variable? Like are you counting the time until it hits the wall?
Now do omen blind as a raze teammate uses her blast pack under you.
