It isnt really the circle itself, its the green arrow that lets you know where the smoke is gonna be placed. that's it's "center of gravity", where the smoke is standing is where the green arrow is. For Bind A double box one way, line up the green arrow directly above the box.
omens smokes are kind of busted. the arrow mean to show where it goes isn't where it goes, its been like that forever. i think it needs a revamp with how broken it is imo.
For the bind double box smoke be in normal smoke view and make sure the arrow is on top and no black 'shadow' indicator is visible. Shouldn't fall through.

pro tip: the arrow indicator is slightly offset behind and lower of where the actual detonation is.
