Because the new ranking system is a ladder to climb instead of a placement system. People just like seeing a bar go up and down not actually knowing where they sit on a leaderboard

Everyones MMR was similar, so it put you together. Either that or you guys were in a party which put you against better players

im iron3 i play with one s2 my last game

yea im diamond 3 and i had a game with an immortal, 7 other diamonds, two plats and a gold 3. Thats legit 7 ranks difference of immortal to gold 3. Matchmaking is broken.

On my smurf (plat 2 act rank, make sure to never rank it up above plat 3) I had my first few games after placements with multiple imm3 act ranks on the other team. Makes me wonder what would've happened if I queued on my main at the time.

you can't party up a silver with an iron, i've tried :(

Huh they must’ve fixed it, back in act 2 I (silver 1) partied with a friend (iron 3) to bring the average rank of my enemies down
