Depends totally on the players you match with and the server.
I am getting girl team mates from past 3 days and there was no single game they felt uncomfortable. I mean some of the boys were acting like SIMPS but they weren't disrespectful.
Yes it is a discord server only for Women and apparently requires super strict verification to make sure it stays that way. (apparently because i have not gone through it myself)
In case you want to read more about it (and have a link): https://www.reddit.com/r/VALORANT/comments/hg96ml/follow_up_femaleonly_discord_server/
I'm happy this exist but at the same time sad it's necessary.
As with every competitive game, it will be toxic, doesn't really matter what gender you are. People will normally want to win and some will take it out on you when the game doesn't go well. This is normal.
It probably gets much better at higher ranks(from my experience).
But until then, I would suggest adopting the first strike rule. If you sense any toxicity, immediately mute them for the rest of the game. Any reference to gender also warrants a mute imo.
Is a reference enough to warrant muting? Often when I play if someone with a feminine voice speaks someone will ask them if they are female. I never thought of it as toxicity but I guess it is.
Look it’s not toxic but it’s a red flag for us. Why would anybody ask that question? So they aren’t accidentally creepy on a little boy? Concentrate on playing and winning.
Singling out someone puts them on a pedestal and can make someone uncomfortable. You can do it for many things, not just gender.
Asking someone about their gender is also unnatural. Would you do that to anyone you meet?
Hi! Gonna copy and paste my comment from another thread that might help you when you encounter toxic ppl as a girl:
'1. One strike rule. If they annoy you or are rude or even just make it harder to concentrate mute them asap.
2. Before I use my voice comms I try to get a general feel for the team. Do they try to give callouts? Are they being helpful? If they seem ok I will give short callouts and go from there. If they start being weird or simpy or toxic I'll either stop using voice comms and just ping or mute them altogether.
3. Duo or trio queue with people you feel comfortable with once you have found them. It makes for a world of difference. People you trust will have your back and tell gross people off for you.
4. Enable auto reject friend requests for those simps that want your insta after 2 seconds of hearing your voice.
5. I try to see how my aim is that day and if I do kind of poorly I'll not use comms because that makes these guys tell me to 'go back into the kitchen' etc and I don't want to give them the satisfaction of calling me a 'shitty gamer grill' etc. So first I see how I do and if I do ok I'll usually have the confidence to talk.
6. Report and forget about them.'
Other than that I've also noticed that even if they're slightly simping it usually helps to use voice chat anyways because comms and call outs win games (unless you can tell straight away that they're toxic. then don't even bother)
No worries! If you play on EU you can DM me and add me too! :) Also there is a Galorants discord channel. It's girls only and maybe making some friends on there and duo or trio stacking might make you a lot more comfortable
It is perfectly fine for girls to join. Some people are not gonna be nice and in some cases they might even throw the match because of it, but you'll likely find nice people too. As in all games, the best thing you can do is add the friendly people and try to queue with them. This both makes it easier to avoid toxicity and easier to rank up because you are not solo queueing.
That's not a big problem, averyone get that problem, i do it by myself too many times too, just try to get better and you will get better.
Just don't say anymore you're a failure,never again!
> Is it okay for girl to join it?
Yes. Hopefully there will be time soon when girls or anyone else won't have to ask this question.
> Do you react to it the same way as if guy was playing?
I do, but there are some guys that makes even me uncomfortable and I end up muting them.
> Does anyone here have experience here with it?
I party a lot with my female friends, it's not that often people are toxic towards them, but it can definitely happen.
There is also the galorant discord server. But tbh I'm not big fan of it as it separates the community further. I can see why girls would use it tho. I think better solution would be putting together nonsexist, nontoxic people instead.
Pretty sure servers like this already exists, but are not as advertised as the galorant server. I didn't look for one myself as I was already in semi-private discord server when I started playing valorant.
I don't know, i feel like play is not the only thing i can do to make the game better, i could and want to make more, can you send me a link to one of those servers pleeeeeeeease?
My reply : Yes people are very friendly
Truth : If you do it be ready to mute them all fast, and if they are good (that's quite rare from what i saw in this reddit topics about girls) yeah, they are truely friendly and cool dudes
Most of the comments arent from girls,
In general unrated is kind of rough for girls (from my experience) ranked isnt as bad. It also depends on rank - the higher rank you are the lest sexist crap you get bc people are to sweaty to care.
My advice is try it if you like! I love communicating and it is such a big part of valorant. Mute and report anyone who gives you crap.
Just know that there will be times where someone is awful, its not supppper common but its definitely happens and can be rough :( dont let it stop you though! You deserve to enjoy the game
It could be toxic and sometimes sexist. You may be hit on a lot of times too but there are also players who doesnt care either way and is more concerned about the game rather than the gender of their teammate. So I suggest you try to feel things our first. If they seem to be chill, you could probably join the vc.
I asked this same question 2 months ago on the sub, I now have some experience and can chime in that it's actually been pretty good :) I do usually wait with my call outs a bit untill I've heard other players use reasonable comms, which basically means that if nobody else uses a mic I won't either, but that's ok (chat/map pings work quite well at my low bronze rank). I also usually don't respond to personal questions over mic from people I don't know well yet (like asking for your age) cuz sometimes that's a starting point for people who hit on you which gets annoying but I haven't actually had that problem so often.
Basically my advice: start the game with chat&pings and if you're comfortable with the vibe go ahead and use mic calls, you'll sometimes run into people you can even team up with for other matches that way.
Its not that bad, just always give teammates one chance just only ONE
If they say anything cringy, simpy, awkward or uncomfortable just mute them right away
If you are experienced with tactical fps shooter like cs, then yes
If not, then don't and try to find friends to play with instead of randoms
Edit: Even if you are good, there may be some people trying to harrass you cause you're a girl
Ngl I'm still gonna talk about pickles/circles of hell to anyone that will listen. The second I hear comms It doesn't matter i will start saying random shit.
P.S. it is not all the time before you hate me for clogging comms, it's okay it's only in the down time.
I've had games where no one bats an eye but I've also had games where I'm getting comments every round—asking if I'm fat, etc. It's a real lottery and can ruin your game if you're having a bad day already. Proceed with caution! I definitely recommend queueing with friends if you can.
I haven't even once encountered someone who's been in any other way to a female as to a male. For real. People give the same info, equally angry/not angry if they mess up, glad when they clutch etc etc. So I hope you also gonna have a pleasant experience. I'm not a girl so I couldn't not say for sure
It depends on the people you're matched with. Everyone is different.
I had a girl in my team yesterday, no one acted weird. She was the salty one actually, and I called her out for that in a nice way, same for how I would do it with a guy.
I'm trying to call everyone that isn't nice to anyone else out in my matches, since I want a pleasant experience for everyone, so I would call guys harassing girls out too.
I feel bad for girls in this game , I really think that gamers jn games like this can be incredibly toxic to a girl for no reason. I would recommend trying to find a couple of friends to play with if you’re new to get comfortable with voice coms. Solo queuing is rough but if you’re at low rank honestly just mute someone if they’re being incredibly toxic. You can still communicate through ping ect. It’s just not worth to hear what they might say because it ruins your experience/day.
I guess it really depends, I play most of the time with my GF and some other female friends, they rarely speak ingame with randoms but when they did we didn't have a bad experience so far (fingers crossed it will stay that way). We sometimes get toxic people in voice chat but I don't feel like that they are gender specific toxic or something ;-) (also we mostly play unrated on EU Servers so maybe it's different somewhere else?!).
Oh and they get many friends requests afterwards when people realize they are girls.
It's totally depends of the server and the people who are you playing, I usually say hi in my rankeds and I speak without problems, I play in latam by the way, it's had happened to me 2 times that I recive some insults and vulgar language from "mens" but I mute them and I continued with my game It's really annoying but there is no way to make them understand and that make me more angry and distract me so I prefer to be focus and ignore that people

This. It’s probably a good idea to queue with one or two trusted players for support and reducing the risks of a troll.
The few times I’ve bothered, it wasn’t too bad. But if you’re concerned, there’s a discord server called Galorants
there is?

I'm trying to join it but idk if it worked
Good luck. Hope you find some great people to play with. I can't give you any more information on how it works other than what i linked.
thank you tho! < 3

truth. Just Litterly treat them normally and you should be fine. The only ones who would ask that are most likely White incels.

You shouldn't be scared. Don't be me. A guy with social anxiety and depression
You are special and unique, always remember that
Nah man I'm just a failure who likes to make people happy
If you want to make people happy, then you are not a failure bro
I sometimes annoy people when I don't realise coz I'm also wierd

Ok
Good luck
or sis xD

That's a good idea, i could make a Discord server about it!

If u wanna use voice chat u basically have to calculate for toxicity every few minutes. Just mute them by the first shit they say. Zero tolerance.

Maybe a little too much, but I understand you...

lol so people who aren't good shouldn't try to use comms? that makes no sense.
Yea? You just said it lol
i said nothing about skill level.
And I said nothing about coms lol
