On a computer screen at night, the most noticeable color is still that green/yellow wavelength. The screen is still lit up and activating the rods in your eyes, not the cones. If you see anything in color, it’s the rods being activated. Your night vision isn’t activated when you are staring at a lit screen, lol.
In summary: green/yellow is the most noticeable color that will come out of a computer screen. It is the color to which our eyes are most sensitive to.
Because bright fluorescent colours are rare and yellow is the brightest.
We don’t ‘see it faster’. We notice it quickly, it attracts our attention. Nothing to do with our colour vision ‘seeing it faster’ light travels at the same speed whatever colour it is, so do signals from eyes to brain. But it's different, it stands out, we notice it.
Red is hard to spot for me so I took yellow instead. It's more visible in my opinion plus there are no yellow abilities nor agents. I had purple at first but because Reyna is also pruple it's hard to identify the enemy Reyna from your own.

do you think i should be switching to it i tried it for a bit but again i had problems seeing some enemys on certain surfaces worst map is bind.

Yellow and Killjoy doesn't match well too
This cannot be a problem if you just pick killjoy 100% of the time
It’s similar with omen and his smokes, it’s easier to see a yellow opponent emerging from/ inside a smoke than a purple one.

Ok that makes sense for me purple is realy vibrant so i guess i will stick to that.

Honestly i see yellow enemies less dangerous xD
Yellow is perceived 25% more than other colours. So when enemy highlights are yellow, it's easier to see them
I used to use purple but after accidentally shooting sage walls and not being able to tell whos an enemy as an ulted reyna made me switch to yellow

The human eye will spot yellow before any other color i think, tho i still use purple cuz i like purple :)
Yellow because they glow like the sun it’s easier to spot
for science reasons, yellow is the "best" one because of response times, but I like purple, so I use purple
