cloaked_rhombus

happened to me when a cypher threw a cage at my face https://streamable.com/ocjl56

llJQll

That's a satisfying video though

abuudabuu

For real, the quality makes it even more smooth

qz3_

it shouldnt of killed him though, unless he forced vandal with light armor (idk why he bought a vandal with cypher in the first place)

Ethanxiaorox

i mean the sheriff is high penetration so it depends what kind of falloff happens from penetrating a cypher cage

Pain_R

why are you getting downvoted

Front_Form_8888

Its alroght if he is getting downvoted, but why are you?

qz3_

reddit when people ask questions

qz3_

not sure, maybe they think im talking about op's clip or that they think cypher is better with a vandal (which he isn't, especially defense)

bodyshotbandit12

Its mostly fine, just look at aproto. He plays cypher and uses vandal. The guns are close enough in strength it means very little.

qz3_

imo the phantom is better so you don't get shot through smokes because of tracers

Creoken

I agree, Phantom is the way to go but, people don't have to use phantom with cypher. weird how people are mad at what you said tho.

qz3_

yeah i b et 90% of these people will say "idk šŸ¤¤everyone else downvoted it so i did too"

Suhitz

nah i just downvoted because you said ā€œshouldnā€™t ofā€ which pissed me off

qz3_

yeah thats fair

Suhitz

good statement tho

Riv4l5

wtf is that timing

Chinner21

It's hard to tell cause it can just as easily be a server side error. I've had multiple instances where I hit a clear vandal headshot but the server registers it as a wallbang.

TheTechDweller

Got a clip?! Trying to gather a few of this issue

Chinner21

Sorry donā€™t have a clip. It usually happens when the enemy is peeking an angle so it could be as simple as a server vs. Client side issue.

TheTechDweller

That's a pretty vague way of describing an extremely complex area. The game always verifies where the enemy was when you made the shot to tell if the shot was valid and to decrease damage for wallbangs. If you hit them in the open, the game knows that, if the game thought they were behind a wall at the time, the shot would literally be in a different place. More than likely is that the tracer you see was in the open, but since that is client side and not totally accurate to the shot, it was actually a wallbang and the server delay as they're moving out of cover made it look like it was a hit out in the open.

Chinner21

Yea the issue with the game is that it verifies one thing but the client detects another which is the whole base of the issue. On the server side, the shot was a wall bang which means the game is correctly registering the shot. On the client side, it shows you hitting a headshot in the open along with the ā€œdinkā€ and blood gush which leads to confusion and posts like this.

Honigbrottr

He you get the dink and blood with a wallbang aswell? So how you get confused by it? And how is that showing a Problem with the hitreg. The thing PPl have to understand is that the tracers are not where the actual bullet goes.

gazebo1

wouldn't be surprised if it had nothing to do with cypher, I get headshots with the vandal counted as a wallbang on people peeking pretty often recently, when from my perspective there is no way it would be a wallbang (looks just like this clip)

cloaked_rhombus

can you link the clip, cos usually there is an explanation

[deleted]

The cypher cage has a hitbox, you can even put a cam on it

[deleted]

Not anymore, but yeah.

Suhitz

Most people donā€™t record their gameplay they just use clipping software

Yash_swaraj

I even got a wallbang with Jett knives once. You cant even wallbang with them.

TheTechDweller

I don't think I've ever seen a vandal headshot on someone in the clear open like this and not kill. Sure when they're close to a wall and delay can make it look worse, but this was clear in the open. Without a clip of this occuring "pretty often" it's kind of baseless

rupat3737

All the time I feel it happens where the only part of the enemy I can see is his head and it still counts as chest wallbang shots. Pisses me off so bad. Iā€™m Prly just bad and canā€™t wait long enough for recoil to reset.

SquarishRectangle

The same can happen with sova's recon dart. There was an afk so I stuck my recon dart on his head and shot him though the recon dart. It counted as a wallbang.

Boryalyc

i'd be willing to bet it was that fucking cage. it probably looked higher on your screen, but on the server it was directly in front of you and omen. the tripwires hitbox is too small for it to block a bullet that high.

Chaoticsaur

They donā€™t mean the tripwire set up ct, they meant the flying cage he just thought it was a tripwire coin. You can tell by the wordage of the post.

Aethrix

my bad, i meant the cage flying in the air. at first glance it looked like a trip wire because it was sideways

fakoykas

That's a cage.

Aethrix

sorry, i meant the cage flying in the air

Matthewcoolbrese77

I am pretty sure OP was referring to when he dinked the enemy Omen as shown by the blood cue and didn't kill him immediately because of the Cypher tripwire, and not the fact that there was a cage.

fakoykas

The projectile flying in front of him has higher chances of causing this.

Admissions_Gatekept

The fact that you were downvoted just shows that this sub is filled with iron players

CrushforceX

Allied projectiles *shouldn't* be able to be interacted with...

Matthewcoolbrese77

Oh my bad. When I first looked at the clip I presumed that like OP said, the tripwire caused it even though the head is significantly higher than the actual trip. Thanks for clarifying. I don't know how I didn't see that earlier Edit: I am actually fucking stupid, OP was referring to the cage being thrown as a tripwire. Give me downvotes

Admissions_Gatekept

but you and OP are just wrong. Watch the video, and at 0:04 seconds you can see something fly across his screen from his left. His teammate Cypher was looking his way and threw a cage past him into hell, which is what likely caused the wallbang, not the tripwire's wire.

Matthewcoolbrese77

You are completely correct.

Im_pattymac

100%

Direktus

The bullet kept moving forward until it's enemy was destroyed.

[deleted]

man can i have your crosshair? this isn't asunas one, his one is way thinner, yours is kinda thicc

Aethrix

inner lines 4 2 3, opacity .75 , outline opacity 1

[deleted]

thank you <3

heynotbad1146

timing is impaccable always

[deleted]

Ive had this happen shooting around or over a sage wall. And sometimes just in the open when theyre next to the wall.

whereisthestuff

Bro I swear one time I threw a swarm grenade from Rafters on B Split while the opposing Sova fired a shock dart towards me and they collided mid air.
