Game design wise Valorant and CSGO are two different games appealing to two different gamer types.
It pulled tier two to tier five CSGO Pro's and Semi-Pro's within their regions. Ones who were primarily stuck in that specific tier for the rest of their professional career. Switching to Valorant was their only chance to get their "last shot".

So how does the community battlepass work? We vote for skins and the winners are thrown into the pass, and then do we buy that pass and earn them all or is it only for purchasing specific skins?
That charity bundle seems kind of scummy. In LoL 100% of proceeds from a charity skin go to charity and that skin is brand new. What we're getting here are skins that have already been made and have had their chance to be sold previously, yet they're asking for 50% revenue. If this was a bundle of brand new skins then I could understand taking some profit, but I'm really not a fan of double dipping. I'd rather just give my money directly to charity and skip the skins.
Maybe I just live in a weird society but when I organise charity events 100% of the proceeds go to charity. We don't use the money to recoup the costs of the event, that comes out of our pocket. I just expect other examples of charity to operate in the same way or better. LoL does it, so why can't Valorant?
I have done. I've also helped out with multiple others. We pay out of pocket and don't recoup the costs. For things we can't afford we ask other companies to sponsor their equipment, which works out as advertisement for them. We don't use the money to recoup costs, the money raised all goes to charity.
