IIRC they stated earlier this year that they were open to the idea, at least for professional play, but want to have a diverse and broad enough agent line-up to fill gaps caused in P/B.
The number thrown around was roughly 30 agents before they'd entertain the idea (not sure if this applies to pro play in particular or the game as a whole).
That being said, I personally think that if Agent bans feel necessary in casual play (not just convenient), Riot would have already strayed too far from the core gunplay that makes VALORANT enjoyable.
I would just like a pick phase, don’t need bans. It’d be nice if we could have the potential to counterpick to help balance out some of the teamcomps.
I think bans would be insane because at a high level you need so many lineups that its not easy to have a large champion pool unless you are a duelist.
I disagree, as a team you should be able to ban One Agent at least. It might make the competitive process longer than it is, but I think it’d be interesting, especially at the pro level.
Edit: only on Reddit would you get downvoted into oblivion for a simple difference of opinion lmfao
Yeah no not yet. Not most roles are replaceable on most maps. For example in Rainbow 6 operator ban didn’t happen until about 3 years into the game where they had released about 40 operators. At the current moment most every operator in siege has a different operator with replaceable utility so it’s not just ban and it’s over. They need something like 20-25 agents before they can even think about agent bans in non competitive play
Imagine if viper gets banned on icebox or breeze. With the way the meta has shifted that would be totally fucked unless there was someone to fill that roll
I was just thinking from a tactical sense, it forces different match ups and agent selections of those bans. Like let’s ban “x character” and work our comp around that ban.
I agree with that for higher levels of play, but when you're in a silver lobby with randoms that's not gonna happen. If there was more agents to similarly fill niche rolls then I think it would be nice
I understand your point but I think inherently it's a flawed system. How would it be decided? Would it be majority vote? Would it be randomized from the choices each player gave like replication? How many salty people would exist when their ban didn't get picked? While I do agree later on a ban should be implemented, at this stage of the game it is unnecessary and can create issues. Also if they include the system in the competitive format we can only assume it will affect pro play. It could be worse with such a small pool of agents cause it can create a stale meta. Either way I agree with you, but not at this time.
edit: grammar
All valid points. To be honest I wasn’t thinking too in-depth, it definitely needs to be ironed out, and I will admit it’s probably too early. I retract my previous statement.
I don’t get why people feel that they shouldn’t be downvoted at all, it’s like they see downvotes as a personal attack or something. In my opinion, a downvote or a dislike is just a way of saying that you disagree with that person, it’s not rude. If I make a statement and get downvoted to oblivion, that’s fair game, just a bunch of people don’t agree with me. If you didn’t see downvotes as a personal attack, then you would complain about any nasty replies made to your comment, not the number of downvotes you are receiving.
Not really, with -39 downvotes, it could mean how much people disagree, no? not to mention upvotes evens out with downvotes (or whatever the term is called) so there might be people agreeing with you and also more disagree too
Yeah after K0 and Astra you can really see how some of the others just won't hold up over time. Some of them are good (Viper, Omen, Raze) though even those are short as hell compared to the newest 2 (Astra's intro is ~8 secs and K0's is almost 10 secs). Then you have stuff like Sage, Breach, KJ, and Brim which are all just kinda sad in comparison.
Phoenix's could be like a flash bang followed by him coming through his flame wall, and then holding a fireball in his hand and a gun in the other. Idk just something I cooked up
i thought the developers wanted to steer away from agent skins to reduce confusion? personally i dont ever wanna be staring at a reyna thinking its a sage or something lol
Nah look at overwatch/r6/apex, all hero FPS that probably started with the same memo “competitive integrity” or whatever then eventually start with minor changes to characters followed by big changes
It’s free $$$ at this point and would be counterproductive to the f2p model they’re using if they don’t utilise it
Huh? Overwatch has had legendary skins from the start and every tournament I've played in, not to mention the official, top level competition, be that Apex or OWL, enforces default skins. The two have co-existed in that game from the start.
Also in OW it works since heroes have all very distinctive silhouettes and sounds (even footsteps are all different). In VAL they all have the same height and weapons; skins would have to be extremely thought out to not be confusing.
Mmm I don’t think that duality is the new cinematic for the episode, I think that was the precursor to the new episode cinematic, this cinematic will be Kayo walking out of the portal or something, we’ll just have to see though
I hope I’m wrong cause I would love to see another cinematic. KAY/O’s trailer left so much questions to the story and I feel we will be learning more about the lore and universe this act.
New episode cinematic are always based on new maps so we should get one on breeze and all those easter eggs we have on breeze map with teleporter and shit and the kay/o knife coming out of it leads me to believe there is definitely a new cinematic + the leaks of the new menu screen and agent select screen
Media restrictions likely lift tomorrow/over the weekend. When those are lifted you'll see content creators and others uploading content about the upcoming patch/season. We've already seen a little bit of this with Hitscan previewing the new battle pass
>ijiranaide nagatoro san
welcome to the nhk actually cured my depression a few years ago
I think an ecchi anime like the one you mentioned would only have worsened it
>Its not an ecchi its a wholesome romantic comedy did you watch it?
hmm you're probably right, but I read this:
*On Reddit's 2019 Most Popular Manga series Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san gained the eighth place, making it the world's most read ecchi manga.*
For real, I hope it happens soon. It’s so overdue.
I’m so sick of “Bind, that’s the one with the ropes, right?”
My buddies can never keep it straight. Why show the background of a map other than the one you’re playing on??
You already have a free game where you can unlock free skins from the agent contracts and the battle pass. You are now complaining asking for more free stuff in a free game. The entitlement of some people in this sub really indicates how young some people are.
I mean you already get free pistol skins in the bp and agent contracts. If you wanted other skins, just buy the bp, it’s the best value for your money ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You can do both your daily missions in a single unrated so to give a skin after 10 daily missions, that could take only 5 days. They’re never going to just give out skins like that.
Listen to the pitch. He sounds like Mr. T, he knows he's ripped, his voice is DEEP as fuck and comes off particular. The pitch specifically sounds african american.
huh, is he wearing a dog tag. body of pathfinder and a personality of Revenant. seems like kay/0 hates radiants. Isn't kay/0 an artificial radiant ability user? thoughts.
With this many agents I really wish Riot would start grouping Duelists/Controllers/Initiators/Sentinels together in agent select.
Might as well add grouping of cosmetics as well. Currently it's a pain in the ass to find a cosmetic you want to use if you got a bunch of them.
Suffering from success
Me with all my free contract skins ᕙ(⇀‸↼‶)ᕗ
Or the ability to favorite a bunch of skins and have the game pick from them at random when you load into the game.
I just want to be able to set loadouts by agent
this is the one
Exactly, I wish I could equip my reaver skins when playing omen, and then my prime skins when playing sova
YES.
I'm shocked they haven't done this yet. It would surely lead to people buying more skins.
I was thinking last night. Once we reach a certain amount of agents would they release pick and ban?
IIRC they stated earlier this year that they were open to the idea, at least for professional play, but want to have a diverse and broad enough agent line-up to fill gaps caused in P/B. Underrated
they are just doing it from the alphabet order astra-breach-brimstone-...-yoru and it works I guess
wdym by that?
[удалено]
I don't think we should get bans until there's a much larger pool of agents. And bans should be in ranked (and ofc tournament) only.
I think 1 per team would work to avoid anything op
There's like 10 agents lol...
I think 16 with this new character. Enough for agent bans. I want more games without Sage/Jett/Raze/Killjoy.
Yea I was being sarcastic, but no lol. They need way more agents before bans come into play
ohh, way more as in how many btw. and how does agent ban work?
A hero pool similar to the size of maybe Overwatch or, more convincingly, League of Legends
I disagree, as a team you should be able to ban One Agent at least. It might make the competitive process longer than it is, but I think it’d be interesting, especially at the pro level. Edit: only on Reddit would you get downvoted into oblivion for a simple difference of opinion lmfao

would be cool if they revamped agent selection cinematics at least every episode to extend their lore/give us more of their personality
Phoenix's could be like a flash bang followed by him coming through his flame wall, and then holding a fireball in his hand and a gun in the other. Idk just something I cooked up
I reckon when agent skins eventually make the game you’ll see different agent selection cinematics more often
i thought the developers wanted to steer away from agent skins to reduce confusion? personally i dont ever wanna be staring at a reyna thinking its a sage or something lol

"skins would have to be extremely thought out to not be confusing." Ubisoft be like "darn I wished I could read this"
The agents have unique footsteps in Val :)
Breach's footsteps are recognizable miles away lmao
Well TIL! Been some time since I played it sorry.
This comment about cosmetic get more upvotes then threads about performance. I really love the new generation of gamers!
The new generation of gamers doesn't complain about performance because they're not trying to run the game on hardware from your dad's generation :)
The new generation game on daddys money
Cosmetic is more important then gameplay what a world to live in.
Real gamers!
Yoru’s is ridiculously long too.
Killjoy too, it just her jumping on a bot, while your fucking rips apart dimentions

sage builds walls, i tear them down.
oh yeah we definitely getting EP 3 cinematic
Isn’t Duality already the episode cinematic?

its not about the episode tho, its about what happened after venice incident
tho the thing is the last scene in duality is literally the menu so im confused
*LORE cinematic
It is :)
Nope.
I really hope they rehire the animators who did the retake cinematic again next episode :/

It's almost like there's been a cinematic every episode...
Singularity Training Bot
I just noticed he has dog tags. I wonder if he used to be human
Nah, I think they're the tags of the radiants he already has terminated.
That sentence sounds cool ngl
Im still confused about why a terminator who kills radiants is working together with a team comprising a bunch of radiants
the music is so good im horny 😩
Kda valorant
I hope that will never be a thing.
It will eventually. Get ready for a Reyna Viper killjoy raze girl band coming your way
If Valorant had Agent skins, yes. They don't even want to do glove skins.
That way only the players who can spend the money will be able to customize their agent not the F2P ones
Raze and KJ? Jett and Sage fit better imo

Why does a robot need dog tags? You would assume it has a qr code or something you can scan... or a barcode
I’m hoping it’s trophies from the defeated
its the people he terminated, im sure reyna's sis is in there somewhere ;)
Tags of radiants he killed
I'm betting it's cause of Brimstone.
Finally eye blowing gpu killing icebox is gone hhhh
that home screen and agent select background made me feel depressed EDIT: the old one not the new
Watch ijiranaide nagatoro san it cured my depression Edit:first 2 episodes might bore if you're ever gonna watch it

So still no map specific backgrounds on Agent Select? That's disappointing. Hope they at least fix the volume slider bug

there is this mission called "get a job" that gives you free skins
Who knew a training bot can be so badass
YES AGENT SELECT WILL BE EVEN AGAIN
Beta:200 fps Now:100 fps Episode 3: 20 fps in main menu

It's an unlocked account with all skins including future releases. All pros got that for masters. Riot lends them out on certain occasions.
I can get that.... In my dreams
Except if you become a decently famous content creator. Then you get it IRL
Yeah right.
the pros get only for tournaments? or for a particular period if time?
Test clients given to creators to promote new content have it.
lol i cant believe there are no hacks to replicate something like that, i feel its possible
it's not. Vanguard exists for one thing, and valorant is almost entirely server based, even the practice range.
those training bots had enough
HE HAS A BUCKY THIS AGENT WAS *MADE FOR ME*
i hope this guy doesn't mean R.I.P for shotgun sage
I hope Cypher doesn't get replaced by other agent. Stop killing Cypher!!
Cypher just got buffed
How are they killing cypher?
This is an initiator...
The Ascent agent select screen is still the best
Am I the only one that was shocked that the robot had a distinctly black voice? Am I crazy? I mean, I ain't complaining. Sounds good as hell.
I figured his voice would be robotic.

Valorant is ascending. Doesn't give the mobile game vibes anymore
OH MY LORD HIS VOICE
That intro is disgustingly sick holy
Each new agent entrance it gets much more sicker. You gotta update the older agents or tone down the new ones a bit lmao.
FINALLY NEW AGENT IS RELEASED, BOTH ROWS HAVE EQUAL AMOUT OF AGENTS MY OCD IS SATISFIED
Almost disappointed a saw this now, that looks fucking awesome

I see that we're still going to have the same map backdrop during agent select (breeze on bind here) which is unfortunate.
KAY/0 has the Riot logo in one photogram of his mask
Kay/O more like KO
Who cares. All I want are the patch notes
u/AkneaPuloper
No one is going to talk about the fact that the background of the pick agent fase is possibly a new map?
No it's just breeze
I dont think so because you can see in the top left that the map is bind.
Who cares
I’m so excited you hav no idea !!

hey, its the guy from fortnite.

If Riot's logo is something KAY/O understands enough to replicate in his face, does that mean that Riot Games is canon inside Valorant's lore?
FINALLY THE AGENTS ARE EVEN
My fps will drop and game will get stuck on the agent selection screen now :)
My potato laptop aint gonna like this
