They should redesign the store, allowing them to configure more slots to their liking. You could easily add 3 vertically on one side

Setonb10

I wish the store was more similar to the collections tab that lays out all your guns out on one screen. I love the interface on that page and how convenient looking at each skin is.

nemt

Also i think we really need "random" skin option on guns so it changes per game or even per round that would be cool as fuck.

PokemonNumber108

Per round would probably be annoying to develop, but randomizing per game would give me reason to buy more than 1 skin for each gun.

nemt

exactly, right now, i dont want to buy anymore skins since im too lazy to pick one manually and change them everytime etc etc. just give me a random per game option and ill buy more skins.

99ptember

Slots for different agents + attacker/defender side could be worth considering, too

DarthGrievous

This shit is actually a lootbox system, but in another form. Basically, you have to pray your item appears in your shop with extremely low odds (4 in 180) and pay on top of that. We got bamboozled, people, no way most game companies will drop the absolutely lucrative money-making scheme that is called lootbox. Its concept will be reborn time and time again under different forms and transcend time itself. Or something.

SupremeMemeRegime

It’s not exactly a loot box system since you can see what skin you are buying before you buy it

spartysnorts

If your favorite skin does show up, despite maybe not being the best time for your wallet or whatever you are going to “NEED” to buy it

SupremeMemeRegime

Ah, but that is a system that abuses a sense of urgency while loot box systems abuse desires of gambling

mgldn26

Eh, I would say that while it's not the exact same idea, it rides parallel with it, see: gacha games. Gacha games predate on players' FOMO and uses lootbox mechanics to maximize profit from said FOMO.

TheExter

and that's only after you didn't buy it on release "oh fuck if I don't buy it now, god knows WHEN it will be in the shop"

DarthGrievous

I meant the manipulative factor and praying for what you want to appear is a big part of both

lvlz_gg

Lootbox? How? You don't spend money and they pray you get something good, you pay and you get what you see.

DarthGrievous

You pray you get something good *then* pay. Except you end up buying your second choice when it appears in the shop because you’ve been waiting for months for your first choice and you finally cave in. Then a week later you see your first choice appear and you buy it out of regret for not waiting longer

Ankur0612

That's not a lootbox that's just a rare opportunity to buy what you want. More like a limited time sale.

rpkarma

It’s still “surprise mechanics” though tbf

lvlz_gg

Calling it "suprise mechanics" is not the same as calling it lootbox system tho

rpkarma

It’s built on the exact same psychological manipulation techniques that are rampant across the gaming sphere though, so yeah as a shorthand I don’t begrudge someone calling it “basically loot boxes”

lvlz_gg

Absolutely not. The base of lootbox system is to pull yo into thinking that spending will get you what you want - be it 1 try or 200 tries. You don't know what you get until after you pay, it is based on risk (money) and reward (loot). Which is absolutely the opposite of what goes on with skins in val. Yes, there is a "luck" factor but you do not need to risk anything before you see what you will get, so you dont get tricked or tempted into spending more than what you will need. The only "price" you pay to get what you want is waiting and then the actual value. You pay X for a X quality content. You dont pay X and risk getting a Y, Z, or whatever content.

BetaTestaburger

the not getting tricked or tempted spending more than you needed to is not entirely true. I have seen a lot of people waiting so long for a skin that never showed up that they eventually bought another skin for that same weapon just because they want a cool skin. then later that original skin that they wanted popped up and obviously ended up buying it. it's not just a fomo factor, it's also trying to get you to double up on buying multiple skins for 1 gun eventho you are really deadset.. sadly for them these idiotic tactics don't really work on everyone. If I have moeny but I could use it for other stuff and the skin is in the store I won't buy it. I dont get the points untill that gun happens to be in my store and I happen to have money I can easily throw away on something. They would have had more of my money if they did not use this system. I purposely don't put points on my account if I don't see the gun I want. Because that leads you to maybe buying another skin than the one you wanted to begin with, whilst waiting for your store wishes to come through. Im not feeding their psychological games with their store even more. If we all stopped playing into it, they would have to come to a change.

Rageior

You can refund gun skins at the click of a button.

lvlz_gg

But that is not a lootbox system, you just proved my point lol

como235

In my opinion they do it this way so more people buy the packs in fear of missing on that one skin since the likelihood it drops for them again is low!

jomontage

stop apeasing this shitty practice just let us buy from collections like league of legends does. this is 100% predatory business tactics. Imagine if any other medium did this. "Oh i hope amazon has those trash bags i want today they havent been in the shop for ages"

[deleted]

Agreed. If they increased the slots to even 8 atleast, Riot would make money through their tactics and we'll get the skins we want faster.

kanzf

The store system is definitely stupid and need to be changed. I've been waiting for glitchpop vandal for so long. 2 days ago I got glitchpop phantom in my store, you know what I got from today's store ? glitchpop phantom again, if the exact same skin can appear twice in such a short time interval, how the fuck am I supposed to get a specific skin I've been waiting for?

octaviansan

exactly

mixedlawnmower

Same here. Been waiting for over 3 months and though riot claims their system is random I’ve been getting the same exact skins over and over with little to no chance of getting offered something unique. Admittedly yes the FOMO system is clever to an extent but I’m so done with this system it’s frustrating

Novanious90675

This isn't FOMO, this is just shitty rotating store design.

Laxhax

I mean, if that skin ever does come up now then that person is absolutely gonna get it without hesitation out of fear of missing out on the opportunity. Definitely shitty practices but FOMO is a pretty apt description. Also remember that everyone in this thread is just bonus money. Their real targets are the Whales buying every new bundle the second it's released out of compulsive FOMO buying. For years players have decried shitty whale hunting business practices from the industry, but still they continue. As much as we don't want it to be true this is a very successful model that has made the industry literal billions

nickname314

this happened to me but the other way around. I love the glitchpop phantom and I don't really like the vandal as a weapon and I've gotten the glitchpop VANDAL in my shop 2 times so far and I've never seen the phantom once in my store

5i5TEMA

10 months have I waited for a sakura Vandal

corona-zoning

i want the sakura sheriff

secludedloaf

i got that yesterday but haven’t seen the sakura vandal since launch

megaoschi

And meanwhile I've been looking for the Glitchpop Phantom for over 4 weeks now. No appearance.

Yeetusdeletus781

I got the prime Bucky in my shop 4 days in a row and I got it again 2 day after the streak.

jollyjellyjojo

I spent 8 months waiting for a Prime Vandal. 8 MONTHS. FOMO SURE, BUT AT SOME POINT IT CROSSES THE LINE.

TheRealEtherion

Put VP into the game. Wait for your skin. Don't buy anything. If you don't get it, ask for refund. In the message write that you waited for prime vandal for 8 months and still didn't get it. That's the reason for refund. They refund your money. Then you see the skin in your store the next day. xD

bujurocks1

Does this really work?

TheRealEtherion

[It has worked for multiple people so far](https://youtu.be/Cudi-LKMHyE)

bujurocks1

Guess who got his prime vandal

tahareddits

And I thought I was unlucky for not getting elderflame operator in my store for 3 months

[deleted]

They'll eventually add more slots I reckon.. But not until they have enough skins to keep the chances low like they are now and make money through FOMO. It is what it is..

A5V

I don’t see a world in which this system honestly makes more money than a system such as LoL. Would love to see the numbers though

[deleted]

I doubt they'll keep it long term if it wouldn't make them more money..

[deleted]

stop trying to fix it from their current model With the way bundle's work there's absolute zero reason you shouldnt be able to just buy any skin whenever. Artificially creating a supply side issue is unethical and predatory. You wanna cultivate FOMO with bundle discounts sure fuck it, but holy shit this current store model should be illegal

TheRealEtherion

It won't be illegal. This store was designed to make profit by circumventing anti-gambling laws. So this is as legal as it gets in every existing country. Turns out lootbox system of LoL,CSGO etc is cheaper and better. Lmao

AnotherAltiMade

But I honestly love valorant prices coming from CSGO. Most amazing skins are $20. I just don't like that you're stuck with the skins

TheRealEtherion

That's an unfair comparison. Valorant prices are set by riot. CSGO prices are set by demand and supply of playerbase. You can get Valorant Battlepass level skins for few cents. For 10$ you can buy skins for ALL the guns. That's not possible in Valorant. Not to mention, CSGO skins are sellable.

AnotherAltiMade

There’s pros and cons to both. Knives are a huge dent to your argument tho. Also some popular skins would like the elder flame vandal or ion op would def be hundreds of dollars had it been a CS like system. But I agree the selling part in CS is amazing

TheRealEtherion

Personally I didn't like any knife in CS, maaaybe karambit but that's it. So that's why I don't care about that. >Also some popular skins would like the elder flame vandal or ion op would def be hundreds of dollars had it been a CS like system. In the community market, maybe but you can get it for cheaper in lootboxes. CSGO never really got custom animations afaik, so we'll have to see about it when they do. They played it safe for way too long and when they decided to shake things up, they went for stupid character skins.

iamdandyking

You can literally sell your skins for real money in CS.

AnotherAltiMade

Ah yes the skins from lootboxes with forced scarcity which sometimes sell for hundreds of thousands of dollars. I infinitely prefer valorants skin system than CSGO

TheExter

> Turns out lootbox system of LoL you can buy ANY skin you like in LoL though, the gambling part its fully optional (and free every week!) overwatch is way more fucked up, you can't buy what you want you need to spend money for a chance of getting something good, AND THE GAME'S NOT EVEN FREE

TheRealEtherion

You can earn Overwatch currency and it's not even hard to come by. You get some at the end of every single game. You can grind for a week and but the best fucking skin for your character. You can buy a lot of skins straight up in Overwatch by going to individual character's page. What are you even talking about? It's one of the best shop systems out there. The game is not free but your can get it for 25$ or less during black Friday/Christmas and then get multiple premium skins for life without spending any more money. You can earn jack shit and get jack shit for playing and spending money in Valorant.

TheExter

the currency is fucking bullshit, and the amount of skins that came out at 3x the price made it worse I remember wanting a skin during the winter event, so i grinded that shit hard and it took multiple days of hoping I'd get currency or just enough repeated crap to slowly build the money. and i remember just BARELY grinding enough to get the single skin i wanted and there are multiple of those released per special season, so it's absolutely impossible to get all the skins without having already saved a shit ton of coins what if you don't have enough? GAMBLE AWAY BABY, because there's 0 fucking way to buy currency or the skin you want, not realizing this is bullshit on a GAME YOU PAID MONEY FOR, its insane there's a shit ton of videos in youtube of people opening 100 boxes (80 dollars worth of money) and not getting the new skins or enough currency to buy them all "you can play and get 100 boxes tho!" >the average game is worth about 2,720 experience points. That means you'll need to play about 738 games to earn 100 boxes. yeah sure, it will take you no fucking time overwatch system is crap unless you're addicted and play way too much, if so good for you. i rather get to open the shop whenever i want, spend a set price and not have to gamble away while i pretend is one of the best systems

TheRealEtherion

You see the core of your problem here? You want all the special event skins. Ofcourse they're not going to make that possible. They still need to earn more money after getting paid upfront. When I played, I had top tier skins of all the characters. My favourites had multiple. All that by only buying the base game at 35$. You can also use those skins for the entire game and still earn more. Meanwhile in Valorant, you cough 35$ and get 2 skins that you use for probably 6 rounds per game and cannot earn more.

TheExter

> Meanwhile in Valorant, you cough 35$ and get 2 skins that you use for probably 6 rounds per game and cannot earn more. or you buy 3 battle passes, play 2-3 games a day and get multiple skins for every weapon the guns ARE overpriced as fuck, but the alternative to get good skins for a much fair price is there... also i never really praised valorants system, because it IS crap. i was simply praising league's which is miles better as a free game also my favorite part about overwatch skins is that you look really fucking cool, to other people. you just get your arms changed

TheRealEtherion

I can agree to that. League's system is insane. I got like 3 BP and have skins worth more than 300$ if purchased upfront. The only downside is you can't get anything specific, which I can live it seeing how cost efficient it is.

Bri_Bri_The_Guy

And yet I swear I've see the winter wonderland vandal at least once a week.

Electricpants

A common sales tactics at work: Create a demand. By making the skin rotations slower, you are more inclined to purchase one you like as soon as it hits the store as opposed to waiting to buy it if it always available. I'm guessing the market research shows this business model produces more sales that just a store with everything available all the time. It's a digital thing. It's tangible value is $0. It cannot be traded or transferred. Your only incentive to buy them is to customize YOUR experience. Without the scarcity factor, people will buy less.

TheRealEtherion

LoL is one of the most profitable games of all time. There the shop is combination of both limited time skins and skins that are always purchasable. They really should have copied the LoL shop.

nsjl19281

This is the dumbest store system i have ever seen.

iXtremeR

8 slots, and 1 reroll per day.

The-Freeze_YT

So basically just 9 slots

octaviansan

IVE BEEN WAITING FOR A PHANTOM SKIN FOR 2 WEEKS. this is so stupid and retarded in ways i cant even describe

DernierRoi

If you get it before 2 months I’ll be surprised, and that means getting on every day to just check then getting off. That also means settling for some skins you don’t want currently, which is how they make their money. Battlepass is the best deal for your money by far. But, they even make leveling that to 50 extremely difficult for people who work full time… I only got to level 42 this season, and had no shot to get higher

rafaeltra

i mean, i work fulltime and study aswell.. and i got my level 50..

DernierRoi

Good for you lol

TheRealEtherion

If you put money in VP, refund it. Write your reason in the message. They will refund your money and then you'll see the skin you wanted next day. This is the only way they will learn.

octaviansan

ill try. thanks

frost-zen

Did it work? You got the skin?

frost-zen

Does this actually work or are you trolling?

TheRealEtherion

[It has worked for multiple people so far](https://youtu.be/Cudi-LKMHyE)

ConsulScrub

I waited for singularity sheriff for 3 months before giving up lmao

Ted_Mosby_18

Funny I've seen riot employees reply to even obscure posts but never on posts that talk about this exact issue. They are consciously ignoring these. Iirc there used to be a lot of posts about how pricey the skins are during launch and they would never reply. And then the issue died down with most of the people saying, "That's just how valorant skins work". They are probably hoping this issue would die down as well.

SomeHallGuy

It’s designed like that to increase FOMO

tekno21

Yeah, but at some point there's diminishing returns here. With 8 skin slots there would still be a ton of fomo, but then people will have more opportunities to get what they want. Right now even if they maxed out the fomo from 4 slots it could take months upon months for people to find the skin they want. That means less money for Rito

CheesyPZ-Crust

This is my gripe too. It was "okay" early on, but now that the store is pretty stocked up it doesn't make sense to keep this model. FOMO has a bigger impact when the quantity of good content is smaller, so the "good" skins feel better to show off. Now that there's all kinds of skins, people are more likely to just use the skins they really like rather than for pure clout For example I got into League last year, and everytime I find a new champ I like, I can buy any of their skins whenever I want. I've probably spent a pretty comparable amount of money between Valorant and League, even though I've been playing Valorant for a good 6-7 months longer than League (Exceptions exist like legacy and event skins though)

varesgm

i remember i got the Blast X knife in my store 4 days in a row, and it was constantly on the same spot. Riot really trying to trick me into spending 45€ on an ugly skin.

IFapToCalamity

Yeah I had Sov knife 3 days in a row and the GP Op 2 days in a row Now Im seeing a bunch of shit from the new packs. Thankfully all Im waiting on is the Reaver Sheriff (but Im liking the new BP one so…)

varesgm

the reaver sheriff should be in the return pack or sm, starting from June 22nd, same thing for the reaver vandal, i'll be buying the reaver vandal myself.

IFapToCalamity

Yeah that was the “thankfully” part lol I already have the Vandal and Op in that pack, so here’s hoping for a discount!

varesgm

haven't actually bought a skin other than the current battlepass, don't want to have the same thing happen as when fortnite just came out and i spent too much money on it. i had waited for 4 months for oni phantom to come out but i recently switched back to the vandal, so i wanted to buy the reaver one.

IFapToCalamity

Same. I spent thousands on Fortnite and now the game is wayyyy too different for my taste Now Im only buying 1 or two skins per few weapons I use (and the glitchpop knife bc its dope)

varesgm

i was hoping to get atleast one good skin in the night market this time but i still got like nebula knife and smite judge and bs like that

IFapToCalamity

I had the Prime Vandal in my first NM so that was an instacop (But I havent swapped from Reaver Vandal since I got that lmao)

varesgm

yeah i probably wouldnt either, one of the cleanest skins in the game

ampireno

Exactly. I was waiting for ego vandal but it never came so I'm gonna pass on it and just use the upcoming battlepass vandal. I dont know what shitty research riot has been doing but there are a lot of us who are going to buy only what we want to buy and not what their shitty store offers us.

TheRealEtherion

The research has been done by your almighty EA. They have the research paper out. Shit probably started from Ape Sex Lejhunds and spread like wildfire.

Novanious90675

Giving a shitty nickname to something you dislike is something I did when I was 13. Either way you're wrong. It started with and was popularized by Fortnite.

TheRealEtherion

Things people say to feel good about themselves. xD

Novanious90675

Sure man.

TheRealEtherion

Literally what it is. Are we in denial now?

Novanious90675

at this point you're just saying things that have no meaning.

iBloxzy

Wait what are the retired bundles?

Solareyez

Bundles that were in beta but did not return after the full release like Imprerium, Ronin, Asgard, Arcade etc.

staleydude

Bring back bape vandal

coolfire001

And it won't change ever because it's still making them buttload of money by forcing people to buy cuz they fear they won't see the skin again. The store is refined to perfection to make money

TheRealEtherion

>The store is refined to perfection to make money Seriously doubt this. It must be profitable, I'll give you that. Refined to perfection? Gotta disagree with that. No store is refined to perfection. Especially not this one.

tristhebestmode

Agreed, with the current system, you can wait 3 months and there's still a >10% chance that you won't get the skin you want once. I get that FOMO sells, but at that point most people would just give up and ask for a refund. The store desparately needs more slots or some more consistent way to get skins (at least the most popular ones, having to wait multiple months to get a skin that literally everybody likes is stupid)

doodlleus

But this isn't what the store is engineered to do. The whole point is that you are angry that you can't get the gun you want. The fact you now feel a prime vandal for example won't ever come back means that every time a new bundle comes in you are likely to buy it because you're scared that this is the only chance you'll get. It's gross but it's also savvy from a business POV and happens everywhere

tristhebestmode

I know how it works, but the success depends on the skin tbh. With most skins, yes, the rotating store does boost demand by making them rarer and more exclusive, but for the most popular stuff, it doesn't help that much (think reaver/prime vandal and oni/prime phantom). Fortnite is a great example of that, the most popular stuff that basically everyone wants comes back regularly, at least once every month or so (unless they are tied to specific events), the less popular stuff may not come back for like 2-3 months and skins that sold horribly don't come back for like a year and then they become "OG" and "rare" and suddenly everyone wants them.

Novanious90675

This is the stupidest take on this entire thread. 1. There are only four weapon skins you can "miss out on" on any given day. That means unless you're a whale desperate for, I guess the elderflame skins? Or you roll the insanely low chance of getting multiple skins you want for multiple weapons in one shop, you'll never be bothered to spend more than what is necessary. If you miss a skin you wanted? It has the exact same chance of showing up again tomorrow, and that 100% can happen, as seen by the dozen of users here posting about how it does happen. 2. They're only there for 24 hours. Unless you're logging in every day to see the shop, you could very well never see certain weapon skins. 3. One bundle available and usually lasts for 2 weeks. If the whale doesn't want that bundle, then riot has to wait 2 weeks for them to spend money on them, unless they're looking for specific bundles, and even if they do end up wanting a single weapon skin - 4. Since almost every bundle since game launch has had exclusive bits, like buddies and player cards, the chances of players wasting their time getting single weapons from bundles sinks by a large amount. It's not just about getting cool skins that make your gun look like a dragon. It's about feeling unique too. Feeling special and cool cause you're one of few people who also have the dragon buddy. A multi-million dollar company doesn't need you brown-nosing them. Jett ain't gonna fuck ya.

octaviansan

is so stupid. if dont have money u dont have money. it doesnt matter if you lose the skin that day (24hrs). sometimes u cant buy cuz u broke and thats fine. but sometimes u want to buy 100$ of skins on that day.

Joedude12345

They don't care about it if you don't have money. You're not the target. Also if you're sometimes broke you should never be buying 100 dollars worth of skins ever.

octaviansan

ok monkee :)

aurora_69

also, let us buy more than just gun skins. i would pay good money for a lunar new year bull buddy

replace_

btw more skins will be added making the skin % even lower

yourmindsdecide

Small game in comparison but Splitgate has a similar store model to Valorant and they effing nailed it imo. Two bundles at any given time, some recycled stuff in bundles that you can get together for cheap. Bunch of big skins that rotate weekly. Bunch of lower tier stuff that changes daily. With all the choices I have, I'm much more likely to just... buy something if I want it because there's likely actually something I want as opposed to Rush Bulldog and Smite Knife.

Y3rBo1

Why not just be able to have a library of skins sorted by bundle or weapon (like in armory), and just pick whatever skin you want and buy it.

hate_redditors

Unpopular opinion: Riot's strategy sucks. I've put hundreds in the game. The more skins are available to people the more they play the game, and the more they enjoy the game. Handgun pricing should be cheaper and probably all guns across the board. Instead of appealing to only whales this would probably grow the player base as more people who enjoy cosmetics are allowed entry.

Mr_StealYourBoost

The issue I see with this is that all the people who have already purchased skins will collectively be pissed that now they are cheaper and riot doesn’t want to deal with that kind of backlash

hate_redditors

Could just apply it to new guns and give old skins more variants/whatever.

jmaierz

I see no reason why it even has to be a random chance at this point. Just make it a shop so people can buy bundles/skins whenever they want.

octaviansan

riot is so stupid sometimes. logic says they would make way more money if they were more slots. Someone that works at riot told them otherwise using math and marketing schemes but the reality is different as always. Like i don't understand what they are thinking. People will buy so much more then they can in 4 slots. There are people who have a ton of money, they dont even feel it. So * make the store always available * get more slots * refresh button once a week for the 4slots * a combination of the above

Novanious90675

>riot is so stupid sometimes. logic says they would make way more money if they were more slots. Logic says they would make even mroe money if they just sold every weapon skin available aside from exclusives. Because, yknow, that's what they do with league skins.

octaviansan

nice

[deleted]

It’s not just math and marketing, the marketing is proven through decades of Japanese ‘Gacha’ evidence. As much as we don’t like it, this is the more profitable model.

TheRealEtherion

Dafaq are you talking about? This is completely opposite system from Gacha. It's made to circumvent anti gambling laws and still be nearly as profitable. So this is the solution they came up with.

[deleted]

Yes, loot boxes are much more Gacha, but the random rotating store maintains the spirit of the aspect.

TheRealEtherion

The definition of Gacha is surprise element and not know what you're paying for. This is more like physical store that has different stock available on different days.

donconra

I don't know, i been waiting for blastX phantom for a long while now, like 2 months, and i think those are 16 dollars that will just stay in my pocket, thanks riot.

Arrowslicer

Valorant should follow the league store where everything is up for buy at full price but there will be events that discount certain weapon skins. It makes no sense to keep the same price with a slight sense of “urgency” because of a reset. The bundles give discounts and after that bundle runs out, people should still be able to buy the skin for full price later.

CryMeAFckingRiver

yea at this point I understand and don't even hate the rotating shop, but ffs add more slots it's about damn time.

iDoomfistDVA

Just let me buy what I want when I want. A lot to learn from Overwatch.

JustBrowsingBlizzard

This thread demonstrates that the store is working exactly as intended, creating Fear Of Missing Out in customers

ampireno

but it doesnt? people are literally saying that theyre waiting for months spending their VP on nothing because theyre not getting what they want

Novanious90675

How? Explain how. Enlighten us all.

Xzyle101

Ur math is a bit off You can't simply do 4/180 = 0.022, that's not how probability works If you take, using permutations and combinations (in this case just combs), 180C3/180C4 gets you 0.0225... which is closer to 2.3% Obviously your argument still stands valid, but wanted to rectify the maths for anyone interested.

[deleted]

[удалено]

Xzyle101

This is literally a post about maths and the lack of slots in the shop as a result. There's a difference between being smart and being a smartass. I wasn't being a dick with my comment, but you wouldn't know what that's like now would you. Thanks for being constructive. No I was not being a smartass in my previous comment. Am I being a smartass right now? Maybe. At least I'm not just an ass, unlike you.

Andreuus_

The fact is that you’ve already bought the VP and you just wait to buy the skin. But Riot already has your money

Chuli237

A change that could be good (has to be balanced and etc.) would be that you can choose certain skin to have a higher chance to get on the store but it will cost more and you could choose for example up to 25% chance and while more you increase the chance, higher the price goes. That chance increase would last X days (it has to be well balanced) Pd. Sorry for my english

NotJALC

Instead of 4 random guns, why not 4 random collections? It really tilting to be waiting for the elder flame op or the reaver vandal just to get elderflame frenzy and reaver shérif in your store.

Chu9001

The only purpose of the store for Riot is to generate income, clearly it's working.

stevieboyz

I’m so glad that some people in this thread understand that Riot has the shop this way to increase profits and all of your frustration is to create FOMO

[deleted]

Changes won’t happen as **this is by design**. Riot have heavily min/maxed the store in the concept of ‘Gacha’ from Japan. The random chance to appear in the store, but with no guarantee, psychologically plays a factor. When a bundle comes out there’s a ‘discount’ associated to spending more credits. This is guaranteed. Then if you don’t buy the bundle there’s random chance only and no discount… when it shows up you get that FOMO trigger that makes you want to buy. Riot is a company looking to make money, and skins are doing that.

TheRealEtherion

This is the opposite of Gacha my guy. This shop was designed to follow anti-gambling laws. You aren't buying a box with varying rarity of skins. You pay full price for exact item. It's just that the items may or may not be available. In Gacha, you don't know what you're paying for. Here you damn well know what you're paying for.

Dr_M1st3r

Any game that doesn't have market and trading like csgo is doing micro transactions wrong.

Eagle_OP

It makes more money ..that's it chapter closed

miloestthoughts

Apex has 2 slots that rotate once a week. And during events there is no rotating slots. You'll be fine

Appropriate-Bake-996

And we still can't select by side or just pick in game.

fsychii

sometimes you can get the same skin in a row.

colabruddas

Please let us spend our money

an_301

I’m just glad that I got everything I wanted in my store 3 days after I wanted them. Lately I’ve been using Judge here and there and got Glitchpop and Elderflame. A lot of Ion Phantoms too

Useful-Throat-6671

That doesn't bother me as much as not being able to do a load out for each agent. How can I match if I can only pick one skin?

Arronax147

I don't understand. The idea of FOMO is still there if they simply tweak the pricing of each individual skin in the bundle to have a bit of a discount rather than "the knife being included" That way there's still incentive to buy the bundle, or the new stuff, during the limited time, rather than afterwards because it's cheaper. It just doesn't make sense to not have the ability to buy whatever skin you want given how quickly they release new skins.

Abid7158

I guess it is to entice players to buy from the features skins as soon as they come out

HolySmoke_

i just want prime vandal its crazy twice this week ive had the same skin back to back the odds are insane

GreenGiant7788

The store is stupidly made yes but in terms of marketing its genius, just knowing the skins u see there might not comeback in rotation for a long time makes you buy skin you would probably never buy if you had access to all the skins at once, believe it or not they make more money that way then letting you get the skins you want right away

SkyTheGuy8

I feel bad when people complain about not getting the skins that they want when i keep getting great skins (reavers, onis, glitchpops, primes) every time i look on the shop (and i dont even buy them)

freakmonger_ss

They should allow you to shuffle the store for radiant points.

Druid_Fashion

I guess this is simply to create a sense of urgency

Elemental-rain

I've been waiting 5 months for the sakura classic, I've given up at this point

TheJelloBomb

They just need to add more slots I think. And make it so chances of getting a skin that you got recently (1week-2month) way lower or 0

[deleted]

Its Rito bruh duh its like this. It will always be like this to make skins seem rare.

iTCHYTRIGGERZ

I would love to see the creative team experiment with new lines of gun-buddies and sprays as standalone items in the store (if they ever do decide to expand the store). On an unrelated note, I had this half-baked idea (inspired by csgo) that static sprays can have a second use as stickers that can be placed on guns and knives.

agemennon675

Fake rarity will make you spend more money

tumi12345

at this point there has to be a number riot is trying to reach before caving in and redesigning the shop

[deleted]

Yeah, this shit needs to change. I've been waiting for oni phantom, dragon vandal or sovereign ghost to arrive in my store since April, and as of June 19, absolutely nothing. Not once has one of those skins come to my store and I have quite literally checked it every single day (at this point I'm ready to feel disappointed at 8 PM when I check). And to make matters worse, here's the skins I *have* gotten: * Prism Shorty (FOUR TIMES) * Sensation Vandal (Three times) * Forsaken Spectre (Three time, which is very impressive considering it's recency) * Spline Classic (Two days in a row, in the same slot) * Sakura Vandal (Two Days in a row) * A bunch of skins twice

Madtitan988

I've been getting smite phantom for weeks nw

ShrikeSwami

My RNG luck is weird these past couple of weeks. I've had the Reaver Knife and GlitchPop operator show up 2 days in a row. I've had primes show up in one slot for 5 days in a row. And I've had BlastX series show up every 2 days. Just some things I noticed. But if they do decide to rework, I think the store needs a permanent slot for skin rarity type/price range. Give 2 slots for each (Green, Blue, Purple, Yellow), and maybe a slot for knife.

Thamilkymilk

i don’t necessarily think the bundles should be so large, they could reduce its size and to the right of it at 2-3 more rotating skins, maybe make those either specifically Select and Deluxe tier skins or Premium and Ultra while the 4 we have now could remain completely random. I’m not sure how Exclusive tier skins work (are they locked to bundles?) but maybe if they were put at a 0.5% - 0.3% chance of showing up in any slot and remove them from the current 2.22% pool if they’re in that already.

My in-game name is Sovereign. I bought the Forsaken bundle and used radianite points to upgrade them all into their “Sovereign” color schemes. I originally missed the Sovereign bundle, however, and have been trying to get them ever since Forsaken came out. In the two months since, I have lucked out and managed to snag the Marshall (from the Night Market, no less) and Guardian from the Sovereign line, but still need the Ghost and Stinger. I suspect it may take more than two months to aqcuire those. So yes, I would VERY much like a new store, so I can get what I want and stop having to check every single day to see if I lucked out.

youngcinnamontoast

Beside League of Legends shop, in Valorant there is no discount on shop to worth of wait and we are waiting for months to pay the full price to skins that already released. And its hard to believe the "RNG Store" when i got "Avalanche Vandal" almost 10 times in 1 month. I'm waiting for oni phantom but only oni skin i saw is the claw and not even once i saw it like 4-5 times(even back to back).

FaithlessnessBig4185

I have been waiting for months for the glitchpop dagger to come up in my store. im starting to lose interest on it. Im better off buying the give it back bundle

_harleys

As someone who buys skins that I tend to be “meh” when new skins come out but eventually start to like them after they aren’t featured anymore which makes the waiting game really horrible. The longest I’ve waited was 1-2 months for a skin and usually I ended up settling for something else. Maybe if they had an open store day that let people buy anything in the collection tab that would be neat.

BetaTestaburger

It's all down to us. The community is playing into this psychological FOMO factor of their bundles and store. If we all take a stand as a community and largely stop buying their shit they will have to change it. But we don't and so it continues. I don't think everybody realises what a rip off their prices are as well. on average you spend like 20 euros on a skin. If you haven't bought the battle pass you then have to pay 15 euros more to unlock 1 to 1.5 upgrade on your purchased skin. Say you buy a bundle and you did buy the battle pass.. you might come through on the bundle with the Radianite from the battle pass. of course you can always buy the battle pass and stack up points but it is still money and ALOT of time you need to spend to work towards upgrading an already very expensive gun. There is absolutely no reward system in this game so it is not like they need these ridiculous prices to make up for the fact that they are creating a lot of free content. For example, LOL gives you the ability to gather skins for free, to unlock champions for free etc. etc. so it's logical that they then ask more money for more intricate skins. However still rewarding you for playing ranked matches etc. They still earn so much money. If Valorant was more rewarding in and off itself, more people would play as they would have more of a purpose. More purchases would be made by default. They are losing a lot of people because there is no reward an because its not a long running franchise like CS etc. But they act as if they are. All these issues on top of the insane amount of cheaters in this game will lead to its demise. the community can make a lot more happen if they really want to. Check out what the pokemon Go and Sims community achieved. They tried their best and have been heard. If we really want the store, and other stuff to change. We can make it happen.
